The door opened and Mrs. Philis walked in. Today she wore a light blue hakama instead of a suit. I recognized it as a rare drop from the “Woman’s Bushido Series” found in an upper intermediate level dungeon.
The Vitality wasn’t great but the increase in STR and AGI when wielding a sword made it an excellent piece of equipment. If you have the full set you should receive it’s special traits as well but Mrs. Philis was missing the gauntlets and the split toe socks.
When asked I found out that Mrs. Philis graduated from Labyrinth Academy’s combat division, so she’s technically my senior. Hmm, small world.
By the way her job us a high ranking [Bushido] style job called [Samurai]. We talked as we headed towards the dungeon.
There are around 80 dungeons at the school but students must challenge the lowest ranking of them first. The one commonly known as, [tutorial dungeon].
Located at the center of the school it’s thought to be the reason why the school was built here. After a bit of walking we arrived at a building that seemed to be made out of multiple gates.
Once you go through the gate you’re automatically placed inside the dungeon. So the term ‘interdimensional gateway’ might be more appropriate. What can I say, it’s a game.
Mrs. Philis proceeded to the gateway on the left.
“This is the entrance to the dungeon, are you prepared?”
“I’m ready whenever.”
“I’m ready.”
She stopped to make a final confirmation that we were ready before moving out of the way of the gate. But there’s no way I would be nervous, I’ve opened this gate hundreds maybe even thousands of times before, it was an old friend. I placed my hand on the gate, even if it’s real now it doesn’t change anything. I pulled the gate open and in my heart I screamed.
Dungeon, I’m home!!!
And the next moment, I was in the dungeon.
“Fuh, the surroundings really did just suddenly change.”
Behind me Hannah was surprised.
“Haha, yeah I thought the same thing at first.”
Mrs. Philis giggled as she agreed with Hannah. It seems like everyone arrived in the dungeon together.
It seems like Hannah is worried about me but please wait a moment, I’m soaking in this feeling.
“Uuuuuuuuu- haaaaaaaaaa-”
This is the air of the dungeon that I’d dreamed about visiting so many times.
I was barely containing my emotions, in fact I should be praised for not jumping for joy.
“Zephyrus, this is a class so you can’t keep daydreaming.”
“Hmm?”
When I turned around Hannah looked mad causing me to return to reality.
“Hannah…… oh Hannah…..”
“W- what?”
I’m disappointed.
“Mrs. Philis made time for us so pay attention.”
What are you my mother?
“Alright I get it, sorry Mrs. Philis.”
“Hihi it’s ok, everyone has a different reaction so part of the lesson is waiting for everyone to calm down.”
I’ll omit what was said afterwards, it basically boiled down to, there are monsters so be careful.
After that we moved along with me in the front Hannah behind me and Mrs. Philis at the back. The tutorial dungeon is just a straight path with no traps and no chance of getting lost, but also no treasure. I guess it is the tutorial after all.
“Mrs. Philis, I’ve found a monster. Can I kill it?”
The first monster was a Mochi, a large round body all white in color that looked like a rice cake, it had nearly 0 attack power…. Isnt it just a slime!? This gives 3x the amount of experience since it’s a dungeon monster, so what’s the point of the slime!? Although slimepop is useful.
I got permission whole I was thinking about such stupid things, so I lashed out with my sword. In the next instant the first ….battle, if you could call it that, was over.
