For the [Shield maiden] there are two different skills in the second stage of the skill trees for pulling aggro. [Guard stance] and [shield smite].
Unlike [Provocation], [guard stance] will pull aggro indiscriminately. Up until now Ciara had been using [Provocation] to skillfully pull aggro from some of the attacking monsters while leaving others to the attackers. However [Guard stance] will pull aggro from all the monster’s in the vicinity.
However, as we progress, more and more monsters will begin fighting with magic and bows. Because [Guard stance]’s effective range is further than [Provocation] it can be very effective for dealing with these kinds of attacks as well.
[Shield smite] on the other hand is an attack meant for a single enemy. This will mainly be used when fighting the boss. It works better against monster already targeting you, because accompanying the short range of the attack, in order to pull aggro you have to land the attack.
After that I focused on elemental damage resistances and Abnormal states resistance. The elemental damage resistances included, [Fire Guard], [Freeze Guard], [Thunder Guard], [Light Guard], and [Chaos Guard]. Level 1 of these skills cut elemental damage by 20%, however because of the extreme resistance they provided they were not passive skills. They classified as active skills because otherwise they would be broken.
The future plan is to raise the level of [Abnormal condition resistance]. As for her unique skill it can’t be acquired until level 40 when the third stage of the job opens up.
“How’s that?”
“Good. But this being preparation for the future means that the next monsters we run into will require me to use this right?”
“Yeah.”
She guess the contents of the next dungeon by the skills I’d picked out for her. Although for some reason she seemed to look a little pale, although if it ends up being to difficult for her I can always swap out as tank.
“Well, I guess I’ll have to overcome it some day or another. May as well do it sooner rather than later.”
Ciara looked very cool when she said that but, it’s probably best not to over do it.
Actually for Ester the route I think is best requires her to wait longer and save more SP. As of now there’s not actually much she can do, I feel a little guilty for having Rana amd Ciara get so many skills in comparison. However Ester put her full trust in me and did exactly as I said….hopefully I don’t get her excommunicated or kicked out of her family or anything.
“So, which skills should I get?”
“First, [precious thrust] and then [legion thrust].”
[Precious thrust] is similar to [long thrust], however it deals more damage because it has a light element added onto it.
[Legion thrust] however is a skill that is capable of damaging multiple opponents quickly. It’s something like a continuous thrust attack.
[Precious thrust] was raised to level 5. The theory is the same as my physical strengthening. At level 5 the initial damage from the light effect will be almost 2 times as strong. However it doesn’t actually increase all that much from level 5 to level 10 so the theory is to just leave it at level 5 to start.
“And then next is [lance assualt].”
This skill is actually more powerful when mounted, although it can be use while not mounted as well.
“Are you dissatisfied because you only got 3 skills?”
“No, I’m as grateful as always.”

Ester has high STR but it’s important to raise RES as well because going forward it may be difficult to completely avoid ranged attacks. And with the Limitation of 5 STR its a good idea to distribute what you can into other areas as well to keep yourself balanced.
