(Shirou's pov)

The letter in my hand was suspicious, but if I had to guess, it was from Truck-chan. The giveaway was the tire mark that was red as if it was trying to imitate a kiss mark.

To be honest, I'm pretty mad at her. Not because she killed me but how she did it. I can't walk in the city without being ready to fight for my life. I can only hope that this impulse will fade away with time.

Not having any other options, I decided to read the letter. I could always ignore it, but I would lose possible information by doing that.

Although Truck-chan feels like trouble to me, she gave me valuable advice before, even if it sounded stupid.

==========

Hey,

Your favorite four-wheeled reincarnation machine at your service once again! Truck-chan!

I didn't expect the need to write to you again so soon, but ROB forgot to say a thing or two.

The first thing is about your clothes. Don't worry, they aren't that bad, but if you ever need to change them to the very recognizable black shirt, pants, and red coat, then you can.

Cool right!? You don't need to answer, I know it's cool, but that's not all. If they ever get destroyed, they'll regenerate over time, so you don't need to worry about them too much. They will always be a perfect size too.

The second thing is about Avalon. As you may have noticed, it didn't heal you from the start, and it took some time until it healed you. As you should know, Avalon is useless without Saber, aka Artoria Pendragon. It needed some tweaking to function at all, so from now on, Avalon inside you will absorb mana (magical energy produced by the world) and cumulate it for later use. If it has the energy, it works practically at full power but remember that if your head goes bye-bye, it's over.

One more thing about Avalon is that if it's out of juice, it won't work, shockers, I know, so it will slowly heal you as it accumulates mana, but you can forcefully heal yourself using your Od (magical energy found in living beings). Use it only in emergencies, though, as it not only will take a lot of Od but also will take a toll on your stamina.

If you don't like this explanation, you can think that Saber is always with you, even through space and time. How romantic~.

It's all for now bye-bye.

Your Truck-chan.

P.S. This letter won't be visible to anyone but you, so you can do whatever you want with it. Keep it, burn it, sniff it, I won't judge.

Also, I will be writing more letters to you so you won't be lonely. You tend to be lonely a lot. Bye-bye.

==========

...

I don't know what to say, so I won't question anything for now.

This letter, however, answered my question about Avalon not healing me before, so that's a positive in my book. It's also a nice plus that I can have these clothes.

For now, I'll leave this letter somewhere in my room. I'm not losing anything by doing this, and there's no risk that someone could find it.

Now that's out of the way, I need some kind of plan. I have approximately 2-3 years before canon, and I need to get stronger.

I could technically do nothing, and I would be safe, but I'm not taking any chances. It's Type-moon we are talking about. There's a huge possibility that something goes wrong.

One of the things that I don't know much about is The Holy Church. The only thing I know is that they don't like the Mage Association and that they try to eliminate heresy. In other words, I'm 99% sure that they have delusional members. Also, they hate vampires or, in other words, all bloodsucking creatures, which include but are not limited to True Ancestors and Dead Apostles.

I worry about the Church because one of its members is in town or will be in town. I'm not entirely sure.

Caren Hortensia.

I don't know much about her except that she is Kirei's daughter, which isn't the best sign in itself. Also, it's possible that she is different in this universe. Normal Fate stuff. In one universe, a person is an asshole, while in the other is a bro. Shinji is an exception.

Speaking of Vampires, I don't know if they exist in this universe. I would think they do, but who knows? Better be ready, though.

I just hope that I won't meet any Types. I wouldn't be able to do much against them. I think I read somewhere that one of the Types landed in South America, so that's one of the places I'm not visiting.

I'm not even going to start thinking about the moon. Which version is it here? I have no idea. Crismon moon? Moon cell? Tsuki no Sango moon? I just want a normal moon. Is it too much to ask for?

There is also Alaya, who may or may not observe me because I'm Shirou Emiya, and she may want me to become a counter-guardian. I don't know why but there's always a possibility.

All these things mean only one thing. I need to get stronger. I'm not delusional enough to think that I will get strong enough to win against all threats, but it's better than nothing.

I remember Fate/kaleid having a lower power scale than other Fate series, and it is one of the safest, and I hope that it stays like that.

With that in mind, I went to sleep. I think I deserved at least that much.

(3rd's pov)

A lonely man was walking through the land deprived of life, a barren desert. The sky was clouded, but it still couldn't hide giant gears floating around. Behind the clouds, through small gaps, a man could see a broken sky full of cracks as if the world he was in was about to end or at least on its last breath. Around him, there were many different weapons anchored to the ground. All of them, however, were well maintained.

Seeing this, the man sighed and walked forward, seemingly without any goal in mind, but at the same time, it was as if he was looking for something.

"Not this one..."

"Not that one..."

"Not this one either..."

The figure looked at the countless swords, spears, daggers, halberds, and so on, but none of these was what he was looking for. Even the man himself wasn't sure what was that thing he wanted to find, but he was convinced that he would know the moment he saw it.

Through his journey, he noticed a few weapons that caught his attention for a few more moments than the rest.

A red spear that seemingly was ready to kill anyone in front of it.

A crimson sword with a very unique shape and inscription carved on it.

A sword whose blade coils into a spiral.

An axe-sword-like weapon that looked too big to be wielded by a man.

A dagger with a complex shape but too thin, brittle, and blunt to be used as a weapon.

A sword that was more beautiful than any other, shining brightly as if to promise victory to its wielder.

But none of these was what he was looking for at the moment, although the beautiful sword managed to stop him for a few seconds. For some reason, it brought him many emotions. Happiness, sadness but mostly... regret.

The man, however, didn't dwell on it for long and continued his search.

Seeing a hill in front of him, almost all of him, his instinct, his mind, and his body told him to walk there, so he did. There was only one small part of him telling him to turn back.

Each step was filled with pain, and the closer he was to reaching the top of the hill, the more painful it became as if something was stabbing him in the back. With every step, a new phantom wound began to surface.

He didn't stop, though.

As he was passing more and more weapons, he was nearer and nearer to his goal of reaching whatever he was searching for.

The pain didn't stop him, and neither did his fatigue. Even a quiet voice telling him to stop in the back of his head wasn't enough to sway him.

He only had one goal in his mind. Now that he was closer than ever before, he didn't plan to quit.

He managed to do it... He reached the top, and there he saw two swords stabbed into the ground. Unlike all the others he had seen before, they were next to each other and were crossing each other like an old married couple coupling with each other. One of the blades was mostly black, while the other was mostly white.

Unlike most of the blades he passed, they didn't possess any fighting spirit but were contended by being in each other presence, but as if noticing the man, it changed immediately, and they waited... they waited for the man to pull them out.

He made the last step to be within reach to grab the swords, but he stopped for a moment. The one part that tried to stop him was doing his best to put an end to the madness that would come... to the future that would be better non-existence... to the despair that would come to be.

That one part of him that was aware of the meaning of picking up these swords, but the man didn't listen as he was naturally drawn to these swords.

With all of his will and strength, he pulled out beautifully crafted swords, and as he held both of them and examined them, he smiled slightly.

"Welcome back, Kanshou, Bakuya."
