There was silence on the gallows after the execution. The hanging corpse, left to show off for a while, swayed awkwardly every time the wind blew.

The sun was dim, and the number of people gathered was reduced to one.

The hustle and bustle of the execution disappeared, and only one watchman stood on the terrifying gallows.

Someone approached and called out to the place where the watchman was yawning.

The watchman saw the man talking to him.

It looked like a knight.

Behind the knight stood a boy in well-dressed clothes that only aristocrats could wear.

“This is an instruction from the king. May I show you the letter?”

The knight took out a document from his bosom, but the watchman had no idea what it was about. The watchman had only recently been hired, and he disliked letters.

“The king ordered us to collect the body.”

The watchman looked through the letter, pretended to understand it, nodded, and left.

The body was to be burned tomorrow anyway. It may be early, but it is not something that the watchman knew.

The man was delighted to complete the work sooner because the body was collected earlier.

The knight stood in front of the hanging prisoner. He cut the rope tormenting her for a while with a knife and caught the falling body after watching the watchman leave.

He slowly pressed her slightly open eyes closed with his hands, and he wiped the water droplets that overflowed from her mouth with his sleeves.

He gently wrapped her body in a cloak and returned to the way they came while holding her in his chest.

The boy next to her was walking down the road with his cold  and slender fingers entwined.

The knight first boarded and laid the sleeping woman on the chaise lounge upon arriving at the carriage.

The boy sat across from him, and when he looked at the knight, the knight called out to the coachman. The carriage started moving.

“Let’s go home.”

The boy whispered to the sleeping Rosemary.

Rosemary’s only loving younger brother, Reinaldo, took his sister’s hand and kissed it reverently.

The place to return to is not the royal palace that afflicted her – nor the territory that treated her as a political tool, but the villa where she spent their childhood together.

Next to the coachman, the knight removed a counterfeit letter from his bosom. He crushed it with his palm while he gazed at the castle in the distance. Over there are the people who murdered his master.

At the same time, Reinaldo was staring from the outside of the window. Over there is a villain who murdered his sister.

The only thing they had in common was revenge.

The carriage disappeared without being found.

The next day, a commotion broke out over the disappeared corpse, and the man hired as a watchman was punished. No one believed the man’s argument.

The convict’s body on death row, Rosemary Hubert, was never found.
