“Huh” came a hoarse voice

This was the only word that could come to her mind. Who was she? Nobody else but the single girl floating in an empty black space. She had medium-length black hair, and black pupils so lifeless you’d think she was dead. She wasn't short, nor tall, and her white t-shirt and black jeans made the situation weirder.

“Where am I?”

The question wasn’t directed toward anyone in particular. After her question was asked a metallic, robotic voice with a hint of organic in it was heard. It was more like a prerecorded message than a voice, and it was loud, so loud in fact that the black space had shaken.

This response from the the was like a revelation when it hit her. She struggled not to simply break down and cry. The voice was in fact correct, she didn’t who she was, if she had any family, friends, or even a pet dog or cat. That the odd thing. She had common knowledge of things that any person from the 2000s would know. She knew she knew things because she had memories of them.

“Can I at least know my name?”
