Chapter 14: Episode 13 – Makeup

Doing make-up is more challenging than I imagined.

The concept is simple, you take something that has a certain color, extract its pigments, and mix it with other materials to get the right texture.

So far we have managed to mix some products and leave them with a creamier texture.

The biggest difficulty is to create products that in the end have a powder texture, as an example, the blush, eyeshadow makeup, foundation, facial Concealer and several others.

I myself did not know that there were so many products. I regret a little for having given the idea.

It seems that my mother and Milena's mother found out that we are creating beauty products. Because of this they decided to help.

"Some things are new and I don't know how to use them.

"Some of it is new and I don't know how to use it." - Rose

"What if we make a product that is good for the skin, yet when applied, using the pigments works like makeup?" - Max

"We can take it into consideration" - Alice

Not only the four of us are creating the product, the actual creation is happening by some trusted researchers from both families.

At first they were not very excited to make them, but when two female researchers understood the project, their eyes sparkled, and you could see the illusion that their eyes were on fire.

At first each researcher was responsible for a different part of the creation. While one studied the effect that each thing has on the skin, another created a mixture of the things that had the desired effect, and another researched what the final product caused.

This changed when when discussing with them a way to make the powdered makeup, one of the researchers suggested grinding the ingredients first and then mixing them together.

Realizing that if they worked through the steps together could reveal what when alone they could not think of. It didn't make sense to leave them separate.

The process of separating the steps is meant to keep the research results from leaking out. However, besides these being trustworthy, few are the people who have the courage to challenge two of the most powerful families, second only to royalty and dukes.

"Why hasn't something that is somehow simple to accomplish been invented before?" - Alice

"The secrets of how to make a person more beautiful is a secret between families, and the nobles use that to their advantage, so it's not usually shared very often."- Angela

"The most that can happen is that the secret is shared with those who marry into the family, so although it is not necessarily a secret, it is still a secret."- Rose

What about the ease of these products even though we are in another world?

The world is based on a game, and this game tries to adapt as much as possible from the previous world due to convenience, because of this many days things that existed in the other world exist in this one.

An example of this happening is the foods that although some products are strangely developed and others are not.

In addition, things that are unique to this world also exist, such as magical herbs, magical vegetables, different trees, animals and monsters that are unique or existed only in the imagination.

This makes some ingredients known while others are not.

"Now let's let the researchers get to work, how about taking advantage of the fact that we are together and catching up?" - Rose

"Sorry, I agreed with Milena that we were going to visit the library" - Max

"Good luck" - Angela

Said Angela looking up with a warm look on her face.

"Not quite" - Milena

When Milena heard she was embarrassed and denied it.

Max was a little sad, but quickly that passed.

Something in common between the two is their thirst for knowledge, while Max wants to pursue as much knowledge as he can use, Milena likes to acquire knowledge.

Milena has a great curiosity, while not showing much interest with people.

When her memories came together with Alice's, she started to become interested in the knowledge of the other world, what life was like for the people there and because of this she started to become curious about the life of the people in the world she is in, what the differences are between the worlds and even from fief to fief.

"Well, not yet" - Milena

She spoke very low, yet low enough for Max to be able to hear.

Max is a little embarrassed after listening. Although he is studying about conquering women, he doesn't have much experience with women other than his mother and sister.

Milena, seeing his reaction, nods, her cheeks a little red, but the feeling of satisfaction is greater.

One of the things Milena discovered, is that she likes to see Max sometimes without grace, a small characteristic of a slightly sadistic person was sprouting in our little lady, but that's a story for another time.

"I was thinking, are you sure you want us to get engaged so soon? You'll miss your chance to be together with the heroine.

"For me, there is no one better than you, why the question? Are you afraid of losing me?" - Max

"It's not that if you can make me fall in love with you, I won't let you get away" - Alice

"I don't know if I'd want to go through that, but I have a little bit of a desire to see what it would be like."- Max

Until they reached the library the two continued their conversation. After that they discussed the books he was interested in and what they were reading.

"Hey, changing the subject, do your parents know that you also have another person inside you?" - Max

"I haven't told them about, but I think they suspect something, after all, out of the blue I changed some things and some things I didn't do before and started doing."- Alice

"I don't think I could stay long without being found out, so I ended up telling some things" - Max

"How was it? Weren't you afraid of them considering you an outsider or something?" - Alice

"A little bit, but, I guess I didn't want to hide something that big from them and not feel bad."- Max

"Sometimes I think about telling them but I'm afraid, I can't talk to them" - Alice

"If you need help telling, or if you don't want to tell but need to get it off your chest with someone, I'll be here for you."- Max

"Thank you" - Alice

"My dad knows about you, I don't think he will talk about it if your parents don't talk about it or show that they know about it" - Max

"What do I do?" - Alice

"It's going to be okay, your parents love you and regardless of what happens. I'll be there for you, so let me know anything."- Max

"I will" - Alice

And so we ended another day.
