In the dead of night, Luke appeared in front of Keiren’s pub. There, he saw a pale young man with white hair and red eyes and a woman with the same features. Their expression is cold and unfeeling while their skin is so pale as if blood doesn’t circulate in their veins. The young man is simply looking around while the young woman is sipping what seems to be red tea.
A chilling wind hits Luke’s skin as he can’t help but shiver. His careless smile is replaced with a straight line and he slightly opened his eyes.
The young man immediately reaches forward and attempted to grab Luke by the neck
A swift dodge to the side allowed Luke to avoid the incoming grab before brandishing both of his daggers. Both of them stared at each other, waiting for the other one to attack.
“Stop fighting, we are not here for him. Don’t waste your time” the young woman replied with a sip of the red tea without even glancing at the both of them. The young man shrugged before crossing his arms and watching the wooden door as if waiting for someone to get out.
Luke sheathed both of his daggers upon noticing that the young man lowered his guard. Passing in front of him, he opened the wooden door only to find Keiren sitting behind the counter with his head down. Both of his hands are grasping at the counter as if he’s praying.
“Who are those people outside?” Keiren asked while grabbing the chair to sit in front of Keiren who barely looked up and sighed.
Tears welled in Keiren’s eyes while his grasped hands is shaking. Eye bags can be seen under his bloodshot eyes. “It didn’t work” Keiren muttered under his breath but audibly enough for Luke to hear.
“What happened?”
“The bloodstone didn’t work. Now, I have no idea what to do next. The sanguine family is in my door asking for the damn stone that wouldn’t work on my daughter!” Keiren grabbed the red stone under the counter before throwing it towards the door. Frustration is clear on his face.
“Calm down, Lawrence has information on the cure. I’ll ask him what it is”
“Calm down?” Keiren laughed hysterically before slamming the counter and leaving a hand-sized hole in it. Aura can be seen circulating all over his body as qi can be seen leaking from his hands.
“My daughter’s sickness has worsened or you’re telling me to calm down? How about I’ll rip your head out to see if you can calm yourself down” Keiren glared at Luke.
“I see…” Luke pondered for a while before glancing at Keiren who looks like a beast ready to rip him to pieces. “I’ll head back for now. I’ll ask Lawrence what the cure is but I hope that by that time, you can give us the information about everything about the first prince.” Luke added before walking away under the heavy glare of Keiren. Luke felt something hitting his shoes as he looked down to find a red gem. Picking it up, he turned around to see if Keiren would be angry if he takes it away. Seeing that Keiren merely returned to the second floor, Luke figured that it was useless for him.
Opening the door, the two pale figures stared at what he was holding. Silence pervaded the surroundings as the young woman walked toward him.
“Tell us, what would you like to barter for that stone. I assure you that it’s useless for your kind” the young woman wiped her lips with a white napkin before staring at Luke calmly. The teacup she is holding vanished into thin air as Luke figured they have a space ring similar to Lawrence.
Now the problem is that he doesn’t know how valuable these stones are to the Sanguine family. No one knows what they do with it and they always ask for it through barter or money. Thinking about it, he realizes that it’s better if Lawrence or Catalinna is the one who barters with it. They might know the true value of these stones.
He glanced at both of them before looking around. He also noticed that they have no weapons on them but their fingernails seem to shine under the moonlight. A clear sign of sharpness.
“I’ll think about it” Luke immediately opened his eyes, sensing every move they do and will do. He senses a kick coming from the young man as he lifted both of his sheathed daggers in a blocking motion as the kick is planted on both of his daggers. The force from the kick knocked him backward as he crashes through the door and into the pub before hitting his back on the floor.
An overhead kick was next as he spins to the side as the wood cracked and breaks under the immense strength of the young man’s heel. He immediately stands up and waved his dagger as their sheath falls to the side and reveals their sharp blades. Without a pause, a barrage of kicks followed as he parried each one easily and masterfully. The daggers appear to multiply as the speed of the young man’s kicks exploded. Attempting to burrow Luke with continuous kicks.
The sound of metal striking each other over and over again forced Keiren to head downstairs to find a pale young man and Luke duking it out as they kicked and slashed with no mercy against each other. Keiren charged forward but a red barrier blocked his way as the young woman looked at him pensively.
“Lazarus, stop that. You had your fun so let us go” The young woman sighed before glancing at Keiren and bowing respectfully “Forgive my brother, he likes to fight anyone he deemed to be worthy. He doesn’t mean any harm. I’ll compensate for the damages.” the young woman reached into the opening of her sleeves before pulling a pouch full of gold and laying it in the table next to her. Lazarus also stopped fighting as he jumped backward and arrived next to her sister.
“You have the skill, human. A shame that you are shackled by your body. Oh well, I hope you join the tournament so it won’t be boring” Lazarus smiled as Luke stared at him coldly. A red smoke suddenly manifested as they walked towards it. Once the red smoke dissipated, they are already nowhere to be found.
Luke slumps to the floor as both of his daggers fall to the ground. He grasped both of his arms as he popped them back to their place while the sound of bone cracking was audible even to Keiren. Both of his arms were misaligned and close enough to breaking even though he parried all of the kicks to the side to reduce the force of each attack. His sight blurred for a while as he closed them while massaging his temple.
Keiren meanwhile walked towards the pouch before opening it to find 200 gold coins inside. He grabbed about 50 gold coins before throwing the rest to Luke who merely looked at him.
“You should use that to treat yourself.” Keiren returned upstairs while ignoring the large hole in front of the pub. Keiren didn’t even react angrily but was simply tired and fatigued. He walked like a dead man as he dragged his feet to the stairs.
Grabbing the pouch full of gold, Luke puts it under his tunic before standing up with difficulty. His arms and legs trembled as he sheathed both of his daggers. While a tired sigh escaped from his mouth. During their fight, he felt his aura churning and his qi was unstable. Every force behind the kicks vibrated all through his body and he had a hard time using both his aura and qi. Every time he wanted to use shadow jump or mirage, he keeps getting interrupted by something he can’t explain. It’s as if something is stealing his aura.

With difficulty, he was able to return to the mansion. The gate opened by itself as he walked inside the mansion before heading upstairs to Lawrence’s room. He knocked on the door but no one answered.
“Oh, If you’re looking for Lawrence. He is in the training room” Samantha said upon noticing that Luke is knocking on the door. The smell of blood lingered around Luke as Samantha reached into her pocket before pulling a green potion out of nowhere.
“Here. It would heal your injuries once your drink it” Samantha added while giving Luke the potion who accepted it with a smile.
“Thanks” Luke drinks the liquid inside the potion despite its bitter taste as he felt invigorated. He stretched his arms to find that it doesn’t hurt moving them at all. Samantha simply smiled before walking away. The potion itself was a high grade as Luke felt his bones arranging themselves properly unlike the one he did in the pub. Suddenly, a searing pain traveled all over his arms but he merely shrugged it. After a minute of pain, his arms are fully healed as he stabbed forward with the use of his fingers in quick succession.
“Now where is the training room?” Luke asked himself as he looked around only to find that Samantha is already gone. A sigh escaped from his mouth as he returned downstairs.
In the training room, Lawrence and the clone are sparring with their respective spears. The clone is full of injuries while Lawrence has none. With the use of his relic spear Gungnir and gravity barrier, the clone can only suffer silently with no way of defending or attacking back. Moonlight beams rained towards Lawrence who simply shrugged it off as he charged once again. Noticing this, the clone retreated as he closed his eyes. Lawrence was about to pierce the clone in the stomach using his Gungnir but the gravity around the clone multiplied as he falls to his knees.
A black spear crashed toward Lawrence with unrelenting force as he flew towards the wall. The gravity barrier didn’t stop the attack as almost 25% of his mana was gone just from reducing the force he received from that attack. The clone also falls to the ground as the spear is stuck into the floor from its immense weight.
“Finally! Haah…haa” the clone breathed heavily while trying to stand up as he grabbed the hilt of the black spear only to fail to even budge it off the floor.
“What happened?” Lawrence inspected the black spear to find the gravity around it had multiplied more than usual He also tried lifting it but no matter what he does, it wouldn’t even move.
“I think I was able to use the gravity enhancement of the spear art. It’s the third technique out of four. It can suck enemies towards its blade while multiplying its weight. I seem to have multiplied the weight of the spear by 4 times.” the clone replied before sitting on the floor. This awaken a piece of information that Lawrence missed.
“Hmmm…it appears that I only used aura to summon you. Then how can you use mana? I’m not supplying you with mana so where do you get it?”
“I don’t know…still. Your powers are quite bullshit you know? That Gungnir doesn’t miss and my moonlight beam can’t even damage you. It’s frustrating” the clone replied indignantly but Lawrence only chuckled.
“Then you better practice. I haven’t even used the spear art that I learn. Anyway, I’ll be returning to my room now. I doubt you need sleep and to eat since you are a manifestation of my aura” Lawrence left the training room as the clone nodded before sighing. He stared at the spear before deciding that it would be best to rest from the ass whopping he received.
Laying on the cold floor, a tear falls on his cheeks as he rests his arms on his eyes. His cold expression warped in sadness.
“I’m afraid…Mom, Dad…Jasmine. I miss all of you, I miss home” He muttered
Walking upstairs from the basement. Lawrence sees Luke who appears to be waiting for him.
“What is it?”
“Keiren’s daughter’s sickness has worsened. If you don’t tell him what the cure is, he won’t help you get the information you needed”
“I see, it seems that he already tried the bloodstone. Did a member of the Sanguine Family appear at the pub?”
“Yes, one of them even attacked me. Anyway, what is the cure?”
Looking at Luke, Lawrence noticed that there are no visible injuries on him. It was quite peculiar, to say the least as any member of the Sanguine Family is a monster that relies on blood magic and their superior body to defeat their enemies, especially humans.
Seeing Lawrence’s suspicious gaze, Luke replied “The young man that attacked me only used their feet in the short battle. I did misaligned a few bones on both of my arms from parrying their strike but I was lucky enough to find Miss Samantha who gave me a healing potion”
“If you encounter them again, make sure to not bleed. They will be stronger the more blood is present near them. Anyway, tell Keiren that her daughter lacks the necessary blood to properly function. Tell him to bring his daughter here so we can heal her but it would be best to do it tomorrow. Though I doubt he would wait.” Lawrence said before shaking his space ring as a small pouch of gold appeared in his hands before passing it to Luke.
“Take this, I don’t order others for free” Lawrence added before heading upstairs straight to his room. Leaving Luke who decided to head outside. A sly smile appeared on his face as he throws the pouch in the air before receiving it with his hands.
“It seems that I won’t be able to sleep”
