An unnamed continent far northeast of the Heedata Empire. An unexplored continent covered with volcanoes and forests. It has become a den of demons, and in addition, the surrounding sea is also inhabited by powerful demons. First of all, if a human sets foot in its waters, he or she will not return alive.
In this continent with many demons, there are three major forces. One is the Purgatory Tribe, ruled by the firebird Purgatory Demon Bird, which rules the volcanoes, the Harpies, ruled by the General Harpy, which rules half of the forests, and the Belial Tribe, which rules all the remaining forests and grasslands.
Since long ago, the Purgatory Clan has had no ambitions to live anywhere but in volcanoes, and the other clans cannot live in the harsh environment of volcanoes, so there has been no conflict with this clan.
The problem is the Harpies and Belial. These two forces had occasional quarrels with each other. Most of them were caused by Belial, who was the pride of the high demons, and their ambition to be the kings of the land.
Belial, who had the appearance of a miniaturized dragon, was able to subdue most of the demons by taking advantage of his overwhelming offensive power, his body surface as hard as a dragon's scales, and his mobility in the air with his wings on his back, though not as hard as a dragon. The harpies, however, could not be brought to their knees. Even though they could hunt them one-on-one without any problem, the harpies, which excelled at coordinated attacks, took a heavy toll on Belial himself.
Therefore, General Harpy, the chief of the Harpies, and King Belial, the chief of Belial, signed a truce agreement 120 years ago, which has been in force to this day.
However, something strange has happened to the land. A terrible and terrible specter emanated from the direction of the Kingdom of Juka. It was a coercive specter, as if to say, "I am the king of the world.
The General Harpy reacted to this. He took his clan with him and went to defeat this rude man who called himself the Great Demon King. The Belial clan was impatient. The Harpy's coordinated attacks were more powerful than their own. What if...? They feared. If the Harpy defeats the Demon Lord, the balance of this forest will be upset. There is a strong possibility that the demons under his control will join the Harpy's side.
However, in order to reach the Juka Kingdom, they must cross the Juka Mountains. There are dragons here. As expected, the harpies will not go unscathed against the dragons. However, if they sacrifice some of their comrades, they will be able to cross the Juka Mountains. Belial and his men were in agony.
And, to make matters worse, King Belial, who had ruled Belial for 300 years, was on his deathbed. Along with dealing with the Great Demon King, a decision had to be made on the head of the family after the king's death.
The clan of Belial is very simple: the strongest one becomes the king. Those who want to be king fight each other and the one who wins becomes king.
Originally, this would have been fine, but now we have to take measures against the Great Demon King. We do not want to lose our strength in a duel between clans. So Belial decides to send those who wish to become kings to defeat the Great Demon King, and the one who wins the battle will be crowned king.
The king, who was about to die, had a daughter. Her name was Peris. She was about 10 years old in human years, but she inherited most of the king's intelligence.
Because she was the daughter of the king, Peris was educated to be a gifted girl. She quickly learned basic skills such as combat techniques and magic. However, the princess was rather interested in the origins of this world. Why do stars appear? Why do these crops grow in the forest and not in the earth? She was rather a scholarly woman.
Her father, King Belial, declared in his last will and testament that the next king should take a daughter to wife. Three Belials raised their hands in response. Belial's three most powerful men were Belial the Strongest, Cecius the Most Magical, and Satorius the Wisest.
To be honest, Peris did not like these three. She did not want to become a queen and be forced to live in a cramped life. However, she could not disobey her father's order. On the contrary, he ordered Pheris to be the one to witness the defeat of the three demon kings.
The wise Peris immediately understood his father's intention. Defeating the Demon Lord would be an extremely difficult task. He knew that when the three of them were all killed, he would be free to live on his own.
On the day he was to go to defeat the Great Demon King, his father, King Belial, died. As if to shake off their grief, the four of them set out to defeat the Great Demon King.
The journey went well. Some demons attacked us, but we were no match for them. Even Peris was easily defeated. The three Belial men were greatly encouraged, but Peris was calmly analyzing the situation.
He had never heard of any of the dragons inhabiting the Juka Mountains going to defeat the Great Demon King. The most intelligent dragons are not moving. There is a reason for this. Perhaps even all the dragons were no match for him, she thought.
The Juka Mountains were right in front of her, and then something unusual happened. She sensed the presence of a general harpy and a large number of harpies.
She knew that something must have happened, and when she tried to go under the general harpy, her way was blocked by the warding. No matter how many times I tried to hit it, it kept bouncing back. This was totally unexpected. Belial, who prides himself on being the strongest man on earth, was unable to break the boundary, and the pride of the three Belials in particular was severely wounded.
So, the three of them decided to work as one to break the barrier. The three men charged with Peris in the center, with Peris in the center and the three of them surrounding him. The power of the attack is certainly far more powerful. However, it was nothing but a nuisance to Peris.
Gummo mo mo mo! All right, let's charge!
"Oh! The wards are cracking! I'm almost there!"
"How's that, Peris? We have the power! Gummo!
Stop! All right, stop!
Finally, the warding was broken. There was a boy and dozens of harpies, led by a general harpy. And when I asked them, I was surprised. There is no Great Demon King. On the contrary, these harpies were defeated by the boy. Of course, this boy saved their lives, and they have been serving him ever since.
What in the world did they come all the way here for? Belial and the others are very disappointed. But defeating the boy who defeated the harpies would be a different story. He would be the champion of the continent, both in name and in reality. The hearts of Belial and his men danced.
But they were naive. The boy buried Belial in an instant. He kicked Satorius, the wisest and the one with the hardest body surface, and even melted his body.
Peris instantly realized that he had no chance against this human, and he took evasive action. However, he found General Harpy and his companions at his escape. Perlis desperately tried to escape, but the harpy's wave after wave of attacks was too much for him. While he was chanting to release his greatest magic to open a blood channel, he received a tremendous shock to his head. I looked up to see the boy who had buried Belial and the others with his sword. I thought that I had been cut down, and then a chill ran through my body.
The next thing I knew, I was on the ground. Then, with a tremendous pain, my hands, legs, and wings were cut off one by one as if they were being ripped off. The pain and horror were so great that I looked at the wounds and saw countless small rats eating my flesh through the wounds.
"Stop it! Please don't do this! Mother! Mother! Mother!!!!!!!"
Unconsciously, Peris was calling out to his mother, who had died when he was a child.
