The Black Cloud City Church was even bigger than the Blue Stone City Church. After entering the church, Anna subconsciously looked up at the top. The top of the church was the miracle story of the creation myth and the Goddess of Light. It was lifelike and had great artistic value.
Anna and Natalie looked at each other, and the two tacitly walked forward to the bench and sat down to pray, then got up and put money into the donation box. Natalie was more generous and gave a gold coin, but Anna didn’t believe in this goddess. She came in to visit the church, so she only donated a silver coin. She would just treat it as buying a ticket.
The two sat back on the bench for a while before leaving. Because noble girls like them were very common, the two did not attract the attention of the priest.
It wasn’t until she got back to the carriage that Anna said, “That was so imposing!”
Anna had gone to the church in Blue Stone City to beg for help for little Evan in the past. At that time, she was not in the mood to take a closer look, but she more or less knew the scale of the church in Blue Stone City. There was no harm without comparison. Originally, the Blue Stone City Church looked very imposing, but when it was compared to the Black Cloud City Church, it looked very shabby.
“It is said that this church was built before my father was born.” Natalie said, “It’s a very admirable building.”
“Yes, it’s a very great work of art.” Anna laughed.
Having said this, the two looked at each other again, each with a smile.
The best part was the architecture.
The next stop was the largest square in Black Cloud City, White Pigeon Square. Usually, the servants of the city lord would come to feed the pigeons in the square, so these pigeons were very white and strong.
Of course, in order to prevent people from stealing and catching these pigeons who were not afraid of people, there were soldiers standing guard in White Pigeon Square every day.
Anna and Natalie bought some bread crumbs in a nearby store, walked to the center of the square, spread out the bread crumbs in their palms, and waited for the pigeons who were not afraid of people to come eat.
There was a bit of pain from the pigeon’s pecking, but Anna didn’t really care, she hadn’t been so relaxed in a long time.
The pigeons suddenly dispersed, and Anna was wondering why when a familiar voice sounded behind her: “Anna.”
Anna looked back and saw that the demon was standing there wearing a male noble’s riding suit. The uniform-like riding suit made him feel more ascetic than when he was wearing a mage robe.
She laughed, he was truly quite abstinent.
“What a coincidence, Raymond.” She guessed it wasn’t a coincidence, but she didn’t care because she was in a good mood now.
Rothgarr watched Anna’s eyes relax as she smiled, only to feel that his heart softened. He subconsciously slowed his tone and said, “There is a very famous restaurant nearby, let’s go together.”
“Okay!” Anna answered without hesitation.
Rothgarr was happy until he saw Anna holding Natalie’s hand to get onto her carriage while saying for him to lead the way.
Fortunately, he was now a little used to Natalie’s constant presence, so he endured his anger and got into the carriage and told the driver to set off.
Although the combination of one man and two women was a little strange, it was not too strange. The waiter of this high-end restaurant led the three of them to a table without looking sideways at them.
Opposite Anna was Rothgarr, and beside her sat Natalie.
Rothgarr ordered a bottle of red wine, but ordered juice for Anna and Natalie.
Anna guessed that the demon had lingering fears about her slightly drunken state that day when she almost kissed him, but if he were any slower in his actions,…she would have stopped by herself.
The wine was Maryland’s 30-year-old fermented wine; the waiter introduced it with pride. The following dishes were delicious dishes made with a variety of precious ingredients and exquisite cooking techniques.
Anna didn’t look at the menu. She was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to eat after reading it, so she just immersed herself in eating and occasionally answered the demon’s boring questions about where she went to play today.
With Rothgarr’s attention on Anna, Natalie felt relaxed and happily ate.
Therefore, the three of them were very satisfied with this meal.
After the meal, the three did not leave immediately in the carriage, but walked along the roadside.
Anna suddenly saw an opera house in front of her, and couldn’t help but take a second glance.
There was really no entertainment in this world. Before transmigrating over, she almost never watched operas, but now she suddenly became interested.
Rothgarr has been paying attention to Anna, and seeing her look ahead, he asked, “Want to watch?”
Anna turned to look at him and Natalie: “Let’s go see if there is an opera that happens to be on!”
Blue Stone City did not have such a high-level place. That made sense, only a city of the size of Black Cloud City could support an opera house.
After the three of them walked over, they found that operas were usually performed in the evening, and there was no performance this afternoon.
Anna was a little disappointed, should she go to another place to play and wait until the evening, or just give up?
Anna didn’t think it through yet when saw the demon take out a bag of gold coins and throw it into the hands of the theater manager who was apologizing.
“What are the plays that are available right now?” Rothgarr asked nonchalantly.
The theater manager subconsciously weighed the gold coins in his hand; he estimated that there were forty or fifty gold coins. There were a total of 200 seats in the theater. Including the VIP room, a sold out show would be 40 gold coins, and this was separate money, which he could directly share with the actors.
He calculated the actors that were currently rehearsing and where the substitutions were at the moment, and said with a wide-eyed smile: “Tonight’s play is “The Demon and His Lover”, the actors are all here, and you distinguished guests can take your seats now. Please come this way.”
Hearing the title of the play, Anna and Rothgarr were each stunned, and when they glanced at each other, their eyes just met.
Anna’s heart suddenly tightened, she couldn’t show any strangeness!
So she raised her eyebrows and said in surprise: “There is actually such a drama, how interesting. I’ve only heard legends about demons before.”
Natalie didn’t notice the undercurrents around her, and said excitedly and expectantly, “I heard of this show before, and I heard that it was very touching, so I’m looking forward to it!”
Without a word, Rothgarr followed the theater manager inside.
