He took a step closer, lifted her chin before she could retreat, and made her look into his eyes. He asked her: “Are you afraid of me?”
Anna was forced to look at the face of the Holy Son, as well as the demon hidden in the body of the Holy Son.
Of course she was afraid of him; who wasn’t afraid of dying? But she couldn’t say that.
“I……”
Holy Son!”
Anna’s words were interrupted by an exclamation.
Rothgarr turned his head impatiently, and Anna took the opportunity to break free. He glanced at her, and withdrew his hand without saying anything.
There were a lot of people who had arrived, including Father Louis of the Blue Stone Church, Earl Wilson, and Parrish.
Upon seeing this situation, Father Louis couldn’t help being shocked. He had heard that the Holy Son was fighting with Ulysses, but he didn’t know…it was all for a maid?
The scene of the Holy Son lowering his head to kiss the maid just now really surprised him!
The Holy Son was the most outstanding, devout believer in the goddess, who swore to the goddess from the day he entered the temple, that would remain loyal and serve the goddess all his life!
“It’s a witch!”
After a brief daze, the priest came to the most reasonable explanation he could think of. The Holy Son was very pious, and Lord Victor was one of the most distinguished youths, how could they be tempted by an ordinary civilian? There was only one explanation; that maid is a witch, specially sent to lure the Holy Son to his demise!
Although Anna knew that it would be difficult to conclude today’s matter, after hearing the words of the priest, she understood that the consequences might be more serious than she had previously anticipated.
She really became a witch sent to seduce the Holy Son.
She glanced at the demon. Was this the desperate situation that the demon wanted her to get into?
Father Louis hurriedly approached and said to Rothgarr: “Your Excellency Victor, you have been bewitched. Please wake up in time before making a bigger mistake! This witch who seduces you will surely be punished by the goddess! ”
He immediately glared at Anna: “Hurry up and kneel down and confess your sins to the goddess! Perhaps the goddess can still allow you to enter her heavenly kingdom!”
“I did not sin, I have never tempted the Holy Son, and I am not a witch!” Of course Anna refused to confess her guilt, even if she knew that what she said would not be of any use.
“Truly a sinner who refuses to realize her mistakes! If you don’t repent, even the benevolent goddess will not forgive you!” The priest angrily rebuked.
Before Anna could refute, Rothgarr frowned: “How noisy, scram.”
He was really annoyed by this religious babble, especially when he was interrupted before he could ask Anna why she was afraid of him. He was very impatient now.
“Your Excellency Victor!”
Father Louis looked at the Holy Son, who seemed like he had completely changed his personality. The former had a stunned expression on his face.
As soon as Rothgarr wanted to say something to drive them away, he felt that his clothes seemed to be tugged on by someone. He turned his head and saw Anna looking up at him, her face full of helplessness and fragility.
“Esteemed Holy Son, I don’t want to be killed by them as a witch…….Will you please save me, I am willing to promise you anything.”
Her eyes were slightly red, and they shined due to the buildup of tears. Even her voice was a bit choked up.
Rothgarr was slightly startled, and then realized that it was time for him to achieve his goal. It had been more than a month; he just knew he would succeed.
“Remember your promise.”
He twitched the corner of his mouth, and when he turned to look at Father Louis and the others, his eyes were full of murderous intent.
“If you are all dead, no one can kill Anna.”
The group panicked, and Rothgarr took large strides towards them.
Behind him, Anna stepped back slowly, and after blinking lightly, the tears in her eyes disappeared.
She saw Ulysses slowly stand up; she saw the Holy Son staggering because his body was weak; she saw the fearful Father Louis rekindling the fighting spirit after seeing him falter; she saw everyone’s attention on the Holy Son, who was possessed by the demon.
Then, she quickly turned and fled.
Anna knew very well that the only path left for her to take was to escape.
As long as the demon existed, she could never prove her innocence clearly. First, Ulysses treated her “well” after losing his memory, then came the Holy Son, plus Parrish earlier on; how could she explain this clearly? She couldn’t even mention what the demon did, or she might die faster in the hands of the demon.
And she definitely couldn’t stay behind and wait for the demon to kill everyone. If the demon won, could she really fulfill her promise? She said that just to “go with” the demon’s thoughts. Didn’t he succeed in putting her in a desperate situation? As he wished, she, like anyone else in desperation, would grasp for straws.
She could see that the Holy Son’s body was not restored yet, and the demon’s body condition was very poor after fighting Ulysses. She bet that he would not release the possessed and appear in his true form; after all, she “didn’t know” that the Holy Son was a demon. Once he appeared in his original form, she, an ordinary civilian, would of course be frightened by him, so she guessed that if he wanted to reach his goal using the Holy Son’s identity, he would never do that.
Right now, she wanted to take the opportunity to flee while they were taking stabs at each other!
