Midori followed through on her word of not repeating herself and went straight for my neck.
I managed to side step her initial attack by moving to the left, but she predicted that same movement and knocked me off balance by sweeping both my legs.
*Thud*
I landed back first on the cold tiled flooring.
I groaned a bit in pain while Midori stood over me with the same nonchalant look on her face.
"I told you I wouldn't say it twice," she said as she lifted me off the ground.
I dusted myself off and turned to Aviorah.
"Anytime would be good now."
Aviorah hesitated for a bit and replied, "Are you sure you want to engage her? Look at her upper arm sleeve. There are four stars, which means she is a Special Classed Investigator."
"Well, I would very much like to avoid getting laid out on the cold hard ground again, so yes, I am very sure."
Midori sighed and said to the both of us, "Enough talking."
She rushed towards me again, this time with her right hand raised.
I attempted to get into position to block or parry the attack.
Crap! I was too slow. In one blink of the eye, Midori stood in front of me with her fist just mere inches from my face.
I held my breath and blinked again.
Like magic, she was gone and made her way to Aviorah, who transformed into her weapon form.
Midori just barely missed tagging her with a high kick.
Aviorah's weapon form, which is a survival knife, appeared in my right hand, and I took a defensive stance.
"Ayato, we can't react to her in time. Her speed is insane."
I trained my eyes on Midori, who was putting her hands into her trench coat pockets.
She laughed and said, "Finally you're following instructions."
Midori has us beat in speed and possibly agility, but, however, the advantage should be on our side since I have a weapon.
I rushed her and swung the knife. Midori easily blocked with her right forearm and rotated to the left side before appearing behind and kicking me in the ass.
I stumbled forward and then fell to the ground.
Damn it. She is just toying with us.
Aviorah sighed, "We're really getting creamed out here, huh?"
I quickly got off of the ground and turned around so I could face her once more.
Midori, who still had one hand in her trench coat pocket, said, "That's the spirit. Come on."
I twirled the knife in my hand, then caught it, switching the way I held it.
The handle was pointed towards my body now, instead of the blade.
In a concerned tone of voice, Aviorah said, "Um Ayato. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'll be reverting back into a human soon. One of my weaknesses would be the duration of how long I can stay in this form."
I held the knife close to my face and shouted, "WHY ARE YOU NOW TELLING ME THIS!?"
"Sorry. It slipped my mind."
"So you were giving me a hard time due to my forgetting to bring a pen and paper, but now you're out here, forgetting to tell me about this important detail."
Aviorah said, in an angry tone of voice, "You've only got about 50 seconds left, so use that time wisely."
I exhaled and rushed towards Midori again, swinging the knife, which she easily dodged by weaving to the side.
Shit. I left myself open for a counterattack.
Midori didn't take the open hit; she allowed me to make that error without punishing me.
She did quite the opposite and created some distance between us by jumping backwards to the far right of the room.
I said to Aviorah, "I don't think I even spotted one opening from her during this entire fight."
Aviorah, "We have the disadvantage in close-range combat. Do you have any long-range magic you can use?"
I said to Aviorah, "I wasn't born with the ability to use magic, so I may have to rely on you."
Aviorah said to me, "This is the first time I ever heard of a person who is unable to use magic, but the only one I possess is Raiken release, but I would have to be in close proximity to use it. So that puts us back to square one."
Hmm, if I can get Aviorah close enough, she could possibly immobilize Midori by electrocuting her.
Midori yawned and interjected herself into the conversation between Aviorah and myself.
"Are you guys going to attack or not? I don't have all day waiting."
I replied, "Sorry to keep a lady waiting." and rushed towards her.
Midori easily and effortlessly evaded every single one of my strikes by simply weaving.

I will admit that it was getting to me. Mostly because she had a nonchalant look on her face while doing it.
Aviorah said to me, "We only have twenty seconds left."
Damn it. There isn't enough time.
Midori said, in a mocking tone, "Tic Tok Ayato."
I clicked my tongue in frustration and tried to sweep her legs, which she easily avoided by simply jumping upwards.
Alright, I see an opening!
Raising up from my sweeping position, I launched a kick to her midsection.
There's no way she could avoid this while in midair.
Huh? What's this?
I felt like my entire body froze for a split second, and Midori gathered herself.
Did I hesitate?
Midori slowly walked towards me, and I tried to attack her by slashing with the knife.
Again, I felt like my body had frozen up.
This time I couldn't move. Midori took her time walking behind me.
Aviorah said, "What the hell is going on, Ayato?"
"I am not sure, but I can't move a single inch."
Midori kept quiet until she stood directly behind me.
She placed her hand on the center of my back and said, "Resume."
I felt all the feelings coming back to my body, but it was too late. I couldn't react to what was coming next.
With her hand still on my back, she uttered the word, "Gale."
In a split second after that, I was sent tumbling across the room, and the knife flew out of my hand, hitting the wall.
Aviorah reverted from her knife form back into a human and was lying on the floor.
I lay on my back, just a little distance from her, and looked up at the ceiling.

I could hear the sound of Midori slowly approaching me, so mustering up some strength, I slowly rose to one knee.
All I could do was pant before trying to make it to my feet.
Before I could do that
Midori said, "Pause."
I felt like my entire body had frozen up again.
I couldn't get up from my bended knee position. She nonchalantly looked in my direction and struck me on the side of my face with her black leather boots.
"Resume."
I felt the feeling come back to my entire body.
However, I was laid out on my stomach. Midori placed her boot on the back of my neck and gently applied some pressure.
I struggled a bit, then gave up, looking to the left of me Aviorah was still out cold, which means her relic form drains her energy a bit too much.
Midori then said in a loud voice, "Are we done here?"
A male voice filled the room and replied, "Yes we are."
Suddenly, the room became warped and twisted, then all three of us appeared in a regular office.
A man who looked like he was in his mid 40's got up from behind the desk and said, "Excellent job, Midori."
