Stewards of the Front, when you hear of it, you might think about Protectors, Defenders, or Guardians of some city. And that's exactly the profession of both my new parents.

But since it's a husband's duty for Father Garvin to take care of his beloveds, us two currently, he doesn't stray far away from the room and is enjoying his time with the two guards that are assigned to keep watch of us like I expect they are.

It has been… sometime since my Reincarnation in this new world, Altaris, meaning New Place or Another Home (Earth 2.0, for me)

Formed in the language of 'Naarin', meaning 'Hellish' and it sounds quite reminiscent of an old language I used to practice back in my younger days: Arabic. I'm not the most versed in its language, but it's kind of calming for me to hear a word that is familiar in my ears. Especially since I can't find myself uttering the usual verbs I chant when it's dusk.

Now that I think about it, it's just so odd for me to be able to understand all these in just a matter of a month… I might just be either gifted by my previous knowledge or is it just because being a kid helps boost my learning process in this room I'm in while Mother Fiona's asleep?... All this is ethereal-y eerie.

So right now, we are all above the sky, in a flying 'hospital' named Reinus, which means Watchful or Eyes in general… still can't believe that such a thing exists for me to feel it. I mean, I never looked at how it looks from the ground if the world is still made up of land for the majority.

Progression of technology here is far into the future, but not quite that Magic becomes redundant for everyday usage. The period I'm in is still developing and no spacecraft around here or I haven't seen them yet, so I'm pretty sure the time is near-future.

Phones, Lamps, Fashion sense, most of them a thing I'm quite familiar with, eccentric as they may be.

Also, Magic, yes, that's a thing in here.

Chanting, Spells, Circles, and all that comes to mind from Fantasy games and movies I often come to enjoy on both my PC and laptop, both the old and the new one… I guess I won't be able to go back there anymore. Not sure if I'll learn of it, even if given the chance, since supposedly my religion deems it as Heresy… so, almost like every sane religion when I'm alive.

Time will tell if I'm going to need it when it ever comes, that is.

Fiona: "So, does it feel good?". She points at the drawings I made with the crayons that they bought, and no pencil in sight since I can be wounded by its tip or something.

I nod my head in agreement. Not of excitement, but as a pastime.

Me: "Ao!"

*Ker-chak*

I hear the grunts of my old man coming in, and see that he's tight in a brown suit like an important event is about to be announced.

Garvin: "Honey, it's time for his checkup"

Fiona: "Again? It's the third time this month, and we just had the second last week". She brings me up from the ground and puts me on my cartwheel I guess must've been a spare in this hospital.

Father Garvin helps Mother go through things, for this one other session.

Garvin: "With some guests from O.W.A.S.I.S, as they're the most proficient in dictating what state Arl's is of"

*Creek*

O.W.A.S.I.S stands for "Otherworld Association Institute", basically screams that I'm neither the first nor the last to reawake my soul in this world.

In that case, then maybe - Just, Maybe. . . I can search for clues on why I am here, as someone not me.

And the word "Stray" that Mother Fiona said, could be related to those phantom-y "Blights" from the void I were in.

As we go on about our path, I was reminded of the two times I was put in a room where some nurses(?) check me up for either my health or something other hidden as I don't feel anything different aside from the growth I'm having. And they're in suits with fabrics almost like that of hazmats.

And here comes the see-through room with them waving at us, unlocking the door from the other side. '... Sure hope I won't be put at an adoption center if this goes wrong'
