The two guards, Ye Feng and Ye Chao, were both experiencing emotional struggles at this point as they continued to wonder whether or not they should inform their original master about Luo Xiao’s decision to enter a secret realm.
The Secret Realm was likely to be dangerous, and no one would be able to tell what kind of scenarios their young master would experience when facing it, but they also knew that if Jiang Yao arrived and wanted to stop him, then he was likely to fail.
Although Jiang Yao was the Seventh Demon Prince and used to decide everything around him, he was not a match for Luo Xiao. Luo Xiao was, although not as strong, the nemesis of Jiang Yao, as he could never go against his wishes.
Even though Jiang Yao would know that, logically speaking, such a trip to a secret realm would be dangerous, as long as Luo Xiao coaxed him a few times, he would forget about the directions of the earth and the skies, and agree to any decision he made.
Such a master, who used to be aloof and cold, had suddenly become a fool in love, it was truly a magnificent sight. However, neither Ye Feng nor Ye Chao dared to comment, and could only stifle the laughter within their hearts as they pretended to not notice. They did not have the same abilities to survive pulling out the whiskers from the tiger as Luo Xiao did.
Time went by day by day, and both guards and Huo Yu were busy preparing for Luo Xiao’s entry into the Secret Realm. Although his cultivation had grown much recently, it was not enough to ensure his safety, and many of the resources he had gained before were all unprocessed or refined, and thus they needed extra resources from elsewhere.
Fortunately, Luo Xiao was a very rich young master after the previous auction, and he did not mind investing a large amount of money in preparation for the trip. To him, money was not that important anymore, but many of the things he had to buy were required and unquestionably needed.
It was not before now that Huo Yu finally realized the true might of Luo Xiao. Seeing how he did not care at all as he threw wealth around himself, and at the same time handed over a storage treasure filled with resources to one of the weaker factions in exchange for a position at the Secret Realm, he was somewhat stumped for words.
However, seeing that Luo Xiao was so wealthy, he also began to realize that following this young man was definitely the right choice. It was not that he was purely materialistic. He understood that certain things could not be bought with money, but for him as a cultivator, there were many resources that needed almost an endless stream of gold to purchase, and if his master could not provide these things, then his cultivation would stagnate.
This, in itself, would be a shame, so knowing that wealth was not an issue, an unknown stone quickly fell from his shoulders.
Luo Xiao did not know that his new-found follower was relieved to know that he could afford cultivation resources, but even if he knew, he would not mind.
It was human nature to seek out benefits, and although he had followed him, he knew that Huo Yu had not been with him for long enough to truly know his personality, nor was there much loyalty to speak of.
However, after joining his side, he did not have any other choice than to stay, or die, and thus he was not worried about betrayal. Even so, knowing that he could ease their worries with something as simple as money, Luo Xiao would definitely have laughed and been in a good mood.
Slowly, the entire Gu family began to wake up, and many servants would enter and leave the side doors every day, either rushing out to order certain items, or come back carrying loads of various herbs and pills.
Patriarch Gu had informed the many members of the Gu family that Luo Xiao would also join them for the Secret Realm, and he had, before anyone could cause trouble, also pointed out that the position gained was purchased from another faction with his own private property. He had not spent any of the Gu family wealth for this position.
Gu Xingyu had intentionally taken all the credit for purchasing the spot to shelter Luo Xiao from the many gossipy words that might appear in the family and outside, should they know that this young man was that rich.
There were many dangers involved in showing off your wealth, among which the most obvious was that many would hunt him down to rob him of his treasures. However, since Gu Xingyu had taken the initiative to take the blame, then Luo Xiao was still known as a pauper that leeched off his uncle for anything he wanted.
“That’s fine.” Luo Xiao could not help but chuckle slightly as he heard the new rumors flying around about him.
“The more people who consider me a useless waste, the better it will be. Also, knowing that I am not worth much, but that my so-called uncle cares a lot about me, not many would be willing to risk their own safety to fight me. Afterall, no one knows if their deeds will become known to those outside.”
Luo Xiao was no longer the innocent pure piece of white paper he had been before. However he still kept his own opinions and moral integrity. Unfortunately, Jiang Yao had succeeded in making him somewhat black-bellied.
