Chapter 1: [001] – Chapter One

 

Inside of an enormous dark castle that resided in the midst of a decaying forest, a battle of 'good' and 'evil' had just ended. In an expansive dimly lit throne room were five beings that held immense power.

 

One of these beings was a Hero from another world that had been summoned to slay the Demon King. Another was the Demon King himself, battered and bleeding bleeding crimson blood upon his dark throne.

 

The other three that stood behind the Hero were his party members and his trusted comrades. The Demon King who was slowly dying and on his last straw grimly smiled at the Hero from his throne before closing his crimson eyes for the last time.

 

Izanagi Yami, the Hero, stood silently with his comrades as they gazed at the dead Demon King. After ten years of almost constant deadly battles his eyes and heart grew cold and cunning.

 

Anastasia Stoneshire, the first princess of the Stoneshire Kingdom and mage of the Hero's Party smiled sadistically as she looked at Yami and approached him. "I'm sorry my dear, but you are no longer needed."

 

Her sultry voice sounded behind him for a moment, before she plunged a ominous ornamental through his chest. It was a trope that was to be expected, but it still happened nonetheless.

 

Yami coughed out a large amount of blood as he fell to his knees without a word. Turning his head back to look at his beloved, a single tear formed slid and down his face as his eyes portrayed his betrayal and disbelief before he fell forward, breathing his last breath.

 

Further behind, a large man as well as a slender blonde woman snickered with sadistic smiles as they watched him fall and take his last breath.

 

'I don't want to die.' It was a simple thought that repeated over and over inside of Yami's head as darkness overcame his sight, and he began to see a light.

 

Little did he know that the light he seeing was his second chance, but as he let himself go, he suddenly felt clearheaded. Evil thoughts took over as he tried to open his eyes and figure out what was happening.

 

It was then that he saw something that baffled him. He was back in the summoning room of the Stoneshire Kingdom's castle with his ex-lover, Anastasia Stoneshire standing in front of him. It was the same fantastical spectacle he saw ten years ago when he was first summoned to the world Erde.

 

Truthfully he wanted to pounce at the first princess and kill her then and there, however he held back and assessed his situation. Looking around, it was exactly the same as he remembered it ten years ago, knights in silver armor circling the summoning circle with the beautiful princess standing in front.

It was a bit of a guess, but from his smooth, non-calloused hands to the fact that he was in the same situation as ten years ago, he made the temporary assumption that he had miraculously gone back to the past. With that in mind, he had to be cautious but 'ordinary'. Suddenly, but not unexpectedly, Anastasia started speaking in the same manner that she did that day.

 

"Oh Hero from another world, we welcome you to the world of Erde. I am the first princess Anastasia Stoneshire of the Stoneshire Kingdom, and on behalf of the world, I ask of you to help us defeat the Great Demon King, Zagan." Despite her saying the same thing as last time, and despite me hearing it exactly as said before, I felt a cauldron of rage stirring within me.

 

After getting up on my feet, I nodded like I did in the past, inducing her speak once again. "As a chosen Hero, by calling upon your 'status', you will be able to harness the will of Erde and see your status."

 

Nodding once again, I unnecessarily speak aloud and say, "Status." In an instant, the all-to-familiar status screen appeared in front of me.

Except that... there was an abnormality. Something I had neither seen in mine or other's statuses had appeared in mine, and it made me curious. So with that, I focused on the 'skill' to open it up.

 

In the process, I felt an inexplicable feeling arising from all around my body as I watched the changes of my status along with the appearance of my 'past life's' skills. A devilish smile nearly crept upon my face as I saw this, however I held back and made sure to play along and act the role of 'Hero' for the time being.

 

"Can you see your status, Sir Hero?" Looking up from my status panel with a slight but normal smile, I spoke said what my status was original supposed to be.

 

"Yes. My race is High Human, I'm level is one, my job is hero, I have Interpretation A for my skill, and my status is Normal." Saying such a thing with a straight face was a little 'straining', however my worry for the worst made my body cooperate.

 

"Great! Now that that's settled, let's go meet my fa- I mean the King!" It was amusing seeing her do such things even though I had already seen this once before, and it was even more amusing knowing that behind that clumsy princess façade lies a backstabbing bitch.

 

Nevertheless, I followed in suite as Anastasia turned around and headed towards the exit of the summoning room with the knights in toe. Looking at my status with an invisible grin on our way out, I couldn't help but let out puff of laugher...
