Dara was tired, but also hungry. She licked her lips and felt the sharp points of her teeth.

"Things sure have changed. Considering how strong I am now, and the things I can do, I don't really mind." She picked up the wolf, took one of her claws, and sliced from butt to throat.

With her uncanny strength, she pulled the hide off easily. With that bloodied meat revealed, her lips pulled away, and she opened her mouth much wider than any human could.

"Rrr." She growled as she bit into the carcass and pulled large chunks of meat from the body. Her body processed the meat differently from a human as it disappeared on her tongue, until almost all of it was gone.

Over a hundred pounds of meat disappeared, and on the last few pounds, she finally felt some meat slide down her throat and satisfy her hunger.

"Ah. Better." She said and licked her fingers. "But what happened to all that meat?" She frowned slightly, and tilted her head. "Oh. My back doesn't hurt anymore." She moved her shoulders and back.

"That fruit changed me completely. I can now use food to heal. But is it the food, or the life?" She pursed her lips a bit. "Hm, I have so much to learn about who I am now." She yawned, which forced her mouth to open extremely wide.

Long fangs, a thin snake like tongue, and solid black orbs for eyes made Dara look particularly frightening.

"Mm, full for the first time in years. Burp." She smiled languidly, and folded the wolf hide up so that the blood wouldn't stain the fur. She put it on the counter in the kitchen, walked into the side room, and laid down in the corner.

She didn't even have time to pull out her ground sheet, or the blanket she purchased. She yawned again, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.

The only thing she had within her mind when she dreamed was a pair of black colored eyes suspended above the keep in the middle of town. It was only a dream, but it felt real enough that Dara was in no hurry to visit that keep just yet.

However, even that dream would not drive her off. It felt like this place was where she was meant to be.

Dara yawned first thing in the morning, and felt her belly rumble. She frowned slightly, but knew that there was a reason.

She stood up and walked to the door, her enhanced senses told her that there was no life within the walls, but outside, there was food. She licked her lips.

"I can smell you." She said softly, and started to walk to the wall. Long claws grasped the smooth stone and she walked up the wall far too easily. When she moved one of her hands up higher, she noticed that the stone had marks in the surface.

"Hm. I'm not sticking to it. I'm actually grasping the stone with my claws. These are really strong." She crawled up the wall, twenty feet upward without a problem, and looked around.

"There you are. I don't think I've had your meat yet." Dara leaped out from the top of the wall, caught the trunk of a tree and jumped to the next tree in her path. With the most exquisite agility and dexterity, her hands, arms, legs and feet moved in exactly the way she pictured.

When she jumped, one hand reached for the trunk, held on while she whipped around the tree, and pushed off with her feet to the next. She hugged the second tree tightly, and pouted a bit.

"Not used to this. I was fine on the first jump, but I couldn't see what to do on the second, so I held on." She sighed a bit. She looked down and grinned.

"Hello piggy. I've come to introduce myself."

Dara felt her blood heat up as she dived out of the tree. She stood tall in front of the two thousand pound monster, a boar that stood taller at the shoulder than she did, and grinned.

The boar was enraged that someone dared, as it was the strongest in this part of the forest. Stone bears had to give way when it was angry, and entire flame wolf packs were reluctant to get caught in its sight.

Dara didn't care about its ego. She ran straight at it. The boar lowered its maw, ready to gore her, but she passed its side faster then it could lift its head. It squealed as she sliced through its thick hide, and took an iron infused tusk off at the root.

Her hand had been low for a reason. She cut through the foreleg, and the rear as she passed. The boar fell over with a thunderous crash as it could no longer support its own massive weight.

She fought this battle on instinct, and knew what the result would be through that instinct, but it still shocked her a bit. Her claws could actually cut through the hide of an iron tusked boar even though swords could not. She shook herself of the surprise she felt.

"Mm, pork." However, Dara's hunger was not for meat right now.

The boar squealed and tossed its head to try and gore her, but she was already at the back of its neck. Her mouth opened, her fangs grew longer, and she quickly went in for the bite. Her fangs sank into the tough flesh easily.

Soft suction noises came from her mouth, which sounded quite decadent as she moaned and murmured each time. The elemental essence she craved flooded her body, and strengthened her constitution. Slowly, the boar grew silent and still, and its earth elemental core dissolved as she drained the last bit of energy from it.

The only way her kind was able to start to absorb the elements was to take it from their environment. Dara was an efficient killer.

Not only could she absorb the elemental energy from the boar, but she could also eat the meat. Unlike the merchant family that treated her like trash, she could feed herself thanks to the help she received from that seed.

Even though she no longer felt human, or even looked human, she didn't mind. As a human, she was weak, and whipped for daring to be born weak.

Right now, a single word floated to her lips. A word that felt right to her, and fit perfectly, but she couldn't remember where she heard it.

She spoke the word softly, and reverently. It had meaning, and should be respected. She didn't yet remember that during her dream, that one word was whispered on the wind.

"Varra."
