'Too Big to Fail...'

The title of the news article caught my eye. I had a good idea of what they were eluding to so I couldn't help but chuckle.

'Raven Games has released its first major game and its a big one. The game size is the largest on the market right now being 35 GB large. The game is simply too large compared to its competitors and many would not want to waste time downloading it.

Except, people are. It's grand size means it is packing a lot, with graphics that are realistic, customization that is so deep you can spend hours altering your appearance, and a story that really makes it seem like your choices matter.

KingdomCome appeared earlier on our radar and has been a game that's been steadily growing in hype. Boasting a massive twenty classes, fifteen different races, ten different professions, and a combat system that feels impact full it is beyond the scope of games today.

I myself am an avid gamer and found myself questioning the previous games I've enjoyed. Why were they lacking in detail, movement and combat?

While the game is highly fun and seems to have a well written story, what truly makes this game great is the immersion. From character interactions, to the alightment system, my character feels like my own. You can even interact with the environment in specific ways, or kill NPCs. All of this and more.

The downside to it however is not the size, but the lack of communication between players. With only being able to speak to those around you, it makes the game feel lonely. There's no world chat to connect with the ton of users playing alongside you. And although it's built in voice system tries to make up for that, I just can't help but feel they missed out on a golden opportunity.

I find myself torn between investing more hours into KingdomCome, or playing alongside my guild mates in World of Warcraft.

While the game is exciting and brings so many new features, is it enough? Are the story and experience something to keep players entertained or is there more hidden within the game? I'm still searching for answers, but then again I'm only level ten. Not nearly high enough to give you an answer, but played long enough to write this review.

Overall the game is something other single-player games and MMORPG’s should strive to be like.

The article was interesting and there were a lot more on the net. KingdomCome had a lot of positive reviews but there were some negatives as well.

The team already had a strong feeling people would not like the chat system. But it was to discourage bots from typing in chat every ten seconds annoying people. Unless you were around them in game you wouldn't notice them, and if you needed to chat with others there was still guild chat, family chat, and clan chat. There were many forms of communication available that wasn't open yet to the majority of players.

It was a journey, but it was one I hoped people would enjoy.

I went from my office to the meeting room and sat down at the head of the table. The others were already present.

I looked up and saw a smile on everyone's face. We did it. It was a long process, but after day one things seemed to be going well.

"First of all, I would like to congratulate everyone on your hard work over the years. What started as a dream has now officially come true. But, we can't slow down now. Although it's only been one day players are having different suggestions for the game. Are there any ones that are useful that we haven't already planned to release?"

"Most of the players have been stating we need some sort of region or world chat. No one has unlocked the features for clans, or guilds yet which is why so many are reposting and liking those comments." Julien said.

The others agreed with those words.

"It's only been one day so we should hold off on doing anything right now. We need to monitor the factions and classes everyone is playing to make sure we strike the right balance." Eric commented.

"We are doing that already. The factions are balanced right now except for Phantom Lineage which has a low population. It's a bit harder to join them than the others since their members are hidden throughout the game world. There's only a handful of players that have managed to join them so far." Julien added.

"From what I've seen on the forums there are some post about them already. Many wondering how to join with a few players posting locations of the members they found already." Harold said.

"That's great and I'm hoping they will explore more of the world. We should keep an eye on the factions like Eric said. But with this just being the beginning I don't think there is much we should do at this point. Maybe we can revisit it in a few weeks time." I told them.

"The next major patch is still on schedule to release in four months?" I asked.

"Yes. It will include a new battleground, four new side storylines, new cosmetics, and some events." Harold responded.

"Good, we will slowly push out these major patches until the first expansion. Have we settled on Avora or Elerin?"

"Avora is a bit more advanced in characters and technology so they would be included in the second expansion. The way things are looking Elerin is the best option. New region, classes, questline, dungeon, and raids." Eric said.

I looked at Amy who was silent. "How are the additional character designs coming along?"

"Things are fine and we don't plan on adding in any additional characters until the second major patch. We've already come up with the concepts for ten of the twenty characters set to make an apperance." Amy said as she pressed a button on the remote to show us the characters on the large screen.

We used the screen but not a lot lately since this was the first meeting we had in three weeks.

Our meeting continued to progress as we talked about what we could do in the future for players that lagged behind. Then we finished up with the awakening system we would add in the future.

For now we would monitor the game to see how things would play out. There was data there but it was only thr first day.

We would meet again next week to see what changed.
