Chapter 211 - A Place of Unrest

Zhong Yue quickly explained, “Senior martial sister, they are my maidservants.”

“Maidservants, what a pity, they don’t even have a decent status.”

Chi Liannu glanced over at Qing He and shook her head, “I heard that Shu Qianqiu is planning on ingratiating himself to my teacher, which is why he has married you over to Junior Martial Brother Yue. Initially, I thought that you would be given a decent status, but who knew you would be just a maidservant.”

Qing He nearly fainted, she yelled angrily, “What do you mean by marrying me over? When did my teacher made such a decision, how is that I’m completely unaware of this at all?”

Chi Liannu chortled, “What? You didn’t know at all? Word has already spread throughout the saint city, saying that you are marrying him. But now, it seems more like you were simply sent over as a gift. What a pitiful girl you are. However, if you are beautiful and fawning enough, you can still be a concubine; when your master is on the bed with his wife, you can still take over her place when she gets tired. Well, that’s not too bad, is it?”

Chi Liannu’s words were like thunderbolts that struck directly at her head, Qing He was stupefied as she mumbled, “Did my teacher really gift me over to him….”

Chi Liannu measured Qing He with her eyes, smiled and said, “You are indeed pretty, but are still somewhat lacking. Seems like you are destined to be a concubine for life at best.”

Embarrassment and anger engulfed Qing He’s heart. She thought, It must be because of my teacher having heard of Long Yue’s prowess, that he has become the strongest in the level of Awakening, and of his identity as one of the disciples of Shi Buyi. That must have been why upon seeing me captured by him, my teacher just took this as an opportunity to gift me over to him as a concubine so as to clear away any enmity between them … it must be like this!

The more she thought about it, the more she trusted her baseless conjectures. However, little did she know that these were all misunderstandings, her teacher, the Keep Master of Xuan Keep Shu Qiuqian, was also completely unaware of any of this.

It was only her martial sisters that misinterpreted her meaning, thinking that she was gifted to Zhong Yue by Shu Qianqiu.

And when these false rumors got out and continued to spread, they were eventually taken as truth, even Chi Liannu was misdirected.

Chi Liannu was fervid as she looked at Zhong Yue, chortling and said, “Junior martial brother, this ancient cultivation technique I have is very strong, it’s a god-level cultivation technique that I found in a secret realm of a ruined celestial temple during my training trip in the East Barren. If you and I can practice this together, it’ll be extremely beneficial to both you and me!”

In Zhong Yue’s psyche ocean, Xin Huo suddenly said, “Brat Yue, don’t accept her offer! I can see the malicious intent hiding in her eyes, she will plunder away the draconic Qi in you to transcend into a Jiao Dragon from her current snake form, rather than truly dual-cultivating with you.”

Zhong Yue was puzzled, “Xin Huo, didn’t you always urge me to dual cultivate with the other girls, why do you try to stop me now? How much draconic Qi can she suck away from me, after all, I’m a human, not a dragon. Furthermore, if it’s a dual cultivation technique, it should be beneficial for both sides.”

But Xin Huo sneered in reply, “I’ll be more than happy to see it happen if it’s really a dual cultivation technique. But this monster lady harbors malicious intentions, the draconic Qi she could get from your body would be insufficient for her to transcend herself into a dragon, she would have to suck you dry into a mummy for her to complete the process! In my opinion, she doesn’t have any ancient dual cultivation technique, but instead, what she got was a cultivation technique that siphons the yang essence from the males to nourish herself.”

Zhong Yue never had any intentions to dual cultivate with Chi Liannu in the first place, he only asked out of curiosity of Xin Huo’s uncharacteristic opposition to her proposal. And as Xin Huo laid out his reasoning to him, his heart stiffened up and thought, Lang Qingyun tried to kill me in the past, and now even Chi Liannu is also trying to set me up. We are, after all, martial siblings of the same teacher, and yet, even among ourselves, the insidious schemes never stop!

Chi Liannu’s eyes were currently filled with a warm tenderness as she leaned her sultry figure against Zhong Yue’s. She said softly in his ears, “Junior martial brother, what do you say? Dual cultivating with me will be very beneficial to you, you can surely break through to the next level, advancing into an Atman Body cultivator.”

However, Zhong Yue was unmoved, he held a smile on his face and replied resolutely, “Senior martial sister is making fun of me. This little brother is just in the Awakening level, I’m too weak to be able to gain anything from junior martial sister. I’m afraid that I’ll be completely sucked away by you during the dual cultivation process.”

Chi Liannu’s neck wreathed around Zhong Yue’s neck, she raised her pretty face and gazed straight into his eyes, it was as if she was trying to see through him and reach to the deepest parts of his heart. Zhong Yue continued to smile gently, “Senior martial sister, we are martial siblings of the same teacher, you wouldn’t force it, would you?”

Chi Liannu chortled, “I’m not going to eat you, look at your little scared face. Well, since you are unwilling to do it, then I shall look for the other dragons.”

She turned and walked away with her swaying waist, the moment she stepped out of the Storm Courtyard, her face darkened and thought, Hmph, what a sly and cunning little brat without any thirst for beauties. Your unwillingness will not change a thing at all as I can still forcibly make you do it! But not here, not in the saint city that could alert our teacher. Junior martial brother, we shall meet again once you’ve stepped out of the saint city!

Zhong Yue watched as she left, he heaved a breath of relief and thought in his heart, What an unpeaceful place this saint city is, even the martial siblings can’t be trusted. I’d better finish forging the Eight Extreme Weapons and leave this place as soon as possible!

He quickly continued forging the soul weapons. As he was taught the sculpting arts by the Swords Gate headmaster, forging the Eight Extreme Weapons wasn’t a difficult task; furthermore, as his psyche had already condensed into a lightning pool, engraving the totem patterns on the soul weapons would be a much easier affair.

Another five days passed before he had finally completed forging the Eight Extreme Weapons — saber, sword, hammer, whip, shields and hook swords. All of the eight weapons were engraved with the totem patterns of the monster god Ming King which imbued a surge of incredible power in them.

With a thought, Zhong Yue surged his psyche and formed them into various kinds of totem patterns, six additional arms extruded out from beneath his armpits, each of them clenching one weapon. A slight move and he could cast out a skill of the Eight Extreme Slaughtering Array!

“Eight Extreme Saber Slash!”

One after another, saber rays thrust out in a fan-like formation —Chi chi chi— the sounds of piercing incessantly rang in his ears as dozens of rows of saber rays perforated the land of a thousand feet before him.

Zhong Yue twisted his waist and gathered the saber Qi together into a huge sword before slashing down heavily. Before the huge saber had even reached the ground, the courtyard ha already been sliced in half.

Zhong Yue quickly stopped and halted the skill from fully unleashing, he was shocked and overjoyed, This cave dwelling is filled with totem carvings that enhances its durability, but I was able to slice it in half before my saber even hit the ground. If I didn’t stop the saber’s motion, the whole place might’ve just crumbled into pieces. As expected, in order to fully unleash the prowess of the monster god Ming King, I would need to have the soul weapons that are fitting of its power!

The【Monster God Ming King Art】was a close-quarters combat art, but the saber ray he had just unleashed was still able to reach a distance of a thousand feet. Its attack range was far beyond the what most would consider within the realm of close-quarters combat!

With my Yuan Shen third form controlling the Eight Extreme Weapons and my mortal body wielding the Fang Blade, it’ll not be easy for even Atman Body cultivators to stop me!

Zhong Yue inhaled a long breath of air, rays flashed in his eyes and he summoned Long Chun’er, Qing He, and the other ladies. Just when he was about to ask to pack up and leave Xian Kong Saint City, a knocking sound came from the gate of his cave dwelling.

Zhong Yue was puzzled, he opened the gate and found an old seneschal of the saint city lord manor standing in front of his cave dwelling. That old monster bowed and greeted with a smile, “Young Master Yue, the master has completed his closed-door training, he is requesting your presence.”

Shi Buyi has come out?

Zhong Yue was shocked and his scalp tingled, Why did Shi Buyi come out so quickly? It’s only been half a year’s time, could it be that he has found out that the Yin and Yang pupils I gave him were impossible for him to attain? No, no, if he realized that he couldn’t cultivate them, he would have smashed me into ash already rather than jump through hoops like this ….

He recollected his thoughts and conducted his voice directly into the ladies’ minds, “Qing He, after I leave, immediately pack up and the saint city, wait for me at the Qing Long Keep beside the Eastern Sea.”

Qing He who was still reconciling herself with her new ‘harsh reality’ had finally resigned herself to her fate and nodded apathetically.

Zhong Yue followed the old seneschal to the saint city lord manor, he was puzzled in his heart but he maintained a calm and placid face. Through the long corridor and the courtyards, they soon arrived at the back garden of the manor. Shi Buyi was standing on an arch bridge with his hands clasped behind his back, the wind breeze gently whistled over and swayed his clothes, giving him the air of an elegant gentleman.

Zhong Yue stepped forward, bowed and said, “Teacher.”

Shi Buyi turned his head and gazed over with a blurred expression as if he was smiling and yet wasn’t, “Good disciple, my dear disciple….”

Zhong Yue grew even more reverent, he stood steadfast while Shu Buyi smiled and said, “Get up. This time coming out from the closed door training, I was planning to examine your cultivation progress. But as I’ve heard of everything that you’ve been up to, my heart no longer worries for your cultivation progress and I’m very gratified to have you as my disciple.”

Zhong Yue’s heart was undulating with unease, he had zero clue as to why the strongest existence of the monster race had summoned him over. Just when he was thinking about it, Shi Buyi said smilingly, “However, at the same time of being happy for your incredible cultivation progress, I’m also very worried that your rapid increase in prowess would leave your cultivation foundation in an unsteady state. Come, show me your【Monster God Ming King Art】and let me see whether or not your cultivation foundation is still strong and firm.”

With a thought, Zhong Yue cast out the【Monster God Ming King Art】, morphing into an eight-armed being with the moon and sun pupils emerging in his eyes, flaring out the Eight Extreme Slaughtering Array.

Shi Buyi’s sights were dominant like lightning that had descended from heaven. Measuring Zhong Yue for a few moments, he then said, “The divine eyes of your【Monster God Ming King Art】are somewhat lacking. The Ming King’s divine eye is vertically upright on his forehead and yet you’ve separated them into two parts in your eyes. Slowly cast your Ming King divine eyes, I’ll take a look at the details and find out the flaws for you.”

Zhong Yue answered his instruction and slowly cast the moon and sun pupils, the sun moon pupils formed in his eyes in a slow motion.

Rays flashed in Shi Buyi’s eyes, he did not blink even for a single second, and ordered Zhong Yue to repeat the process once again.

A few times Zhong Yue had cast the sun and moon pupils, Shi Buyi pondered earnestly and said, “Good disciple, show me the prowess of your divine eyes.”

Zhong Yue followed, he blasted out the Pure Yin and Pure Yang Sword Qi, the two Sword Qi were incredibly strong, interwinding one another like two soaring dragons.

Shi Buyi’s eyebrows undulated as he stared closely at the Yin Yang Sword Qi; suddenly, Xin Huo nervously prompted Zhong Yue in his psyche ocean, “Brat Yue, he has raised his killing intent towards you!”

Zhong Yue’s heart palpitated heavily, cold sweat nearly rushed out from the pores, Xin Huo then heaved a breath of relief and said, “He repressed it….”

The aftershock was still shuddering Zhong Yue’s heart in fear; unknowingly, Shi Buyi’s killing intent had spiked before he forcibly repressed it the next second.

Shi Buyi smiled and said, “My dear disciple, your heartbeat is rising.”

Zhong Yue bowed and answered, “The divine eyes are exhausting my energy, it is still too difficult for me to maintain.”

“I see.”

Shi Buyi said placidly, “Your divine eyes are separated into two, even your teacher I can’t see any flaws in them as of now. Come back when you are stronger, until then, we shall see if any hidden flaws would emerge. You are dismissed.”

Zhong Yue bowed and left, he dare not even let his guard down after he left the lord manor, I must leave, now!

Shi Buyi watched as Zhong Yue walked out of the manor, mumbling to himself, “There’s no mistake, this is exactly how I cast it, it can’t be wrong. But how is it that he was able to successfully do so whereas every time I attempt it, my divine eyes would shatter away. They are completely useless….”

He lifted his head up and said, “For a moment back then, I was at the brink of taking his eyes over in place of my own, thankfully I’m able to repress the urge to do so. He is still too weak now, it is not worth it to take his eyes … yet. I shall wait for the right time, when he has grown stronger, then I will claim them for myself….”
