Almost all species have skills before they are awakened within the game, but slimes are one of the only races to have three or more before their awakening. Slimes are also one of the only species to have a random skill upon birth. The random skills of slimes can range from a multitude of things, with some being extremely useful while others are extremely useless.

I dismissed the screen to be looked at later. 

“I am all set up. Thanks doc.” I said. 

The doctor gave another bow after he put away the syringe.

“It was no problem, my Prince.”

“We will be taking our leave now.” My mother said as she stood up. 

I followed her out of the door and she led us back down the hallways and out of the side door once again. Monte was still waiting there for us as it had only been a few minutes. 

This is one of the perks of being royalty. Most people would have to wait for hours and hours before they could get their nano injection, whereas we didn’t have to wait at all and it only took less than 10 minutes to get my nano injection.
We quickly hopped on Monte’s back once again and took off in the direction of our mansion. There was a pod waiting for me already at home, and I would be starting school tomorrow morning. 

“What skill do you have?” Mom asked. 

“Let me check.”

I pulled up the status screen again and focused on the skill. I already knew how to work the system as my parents had taught all us kids already. 

Regeneration and Form shifting are the basic skills of all slimes, so I ignored those for now and focused on the special skill I was given at birth. 

[Absorption]

[A rare skill that only shows itself within the slime race and even then it is extremely rare. The absorption skill allows the user to absorb the corpses of their enemies within its body to increase the stats of the user based on the stats of the enemy. The skill also has a rare chance to absorb a skill from the enemy as well.]

My eyes went wide as I quickly realized how special this skill is.

“Mom, look at this.” I quickly took a picture of the skill and used the messenger feature of the system to add her to my friends list, then send her the picture to look at. 

She took a few seconds to respond to my friend request, then read the skill description herself. 

“Holy shit! That’s amazing Mar Mar!” She yelled and gave me a hug. 

Mar Mar is the nickname she and a few of my siblings had been calling me since I was a child. 

I smiled and patted her arm as she hugged me. 

It seems my luck stat of 5 wasn’t an exaggeration. 

My whole life had been a stroke of luck after stroke of luck up until this point. First, I was lucky to even be born as there is such a low possibility of that happening, then I was adopted by the most prestigious family on the whole planet, and now I have a rare skill even amongst my rare species. 

When we got back home, I went straight to my room to go to sleep in reality for what would be the last time in a while. I don’t plan on leaving VR until I finish with my courses in school. It will be the first time I have a slime teacher as well, so I am very excited. 

The way our VR tutorial is structured is that we have school first until we finish our courses. Once our courses are complete, we then take the voyage to the main continent. Once we have reached a certain level on the main continent, we can then take another voyage into the real VR game. 

I’m not sure what level I need to be just yet to make it into the real game, but I need to reach it as fast as possible. 

I don’t want to become the next King of our planet, because I feel like my older brother would be much better at that than I would, but that doesn’t mean I won’t participate in the war. My father explained to us just how important it is for us to join the war as fast as we can, so I won’t let him down. 

My younger siblings and I will be the last ones to enter the game, so my older siblings and my parents will be waiting for us to reach the main game. As far as I know, Markan is already in the main game and Nevandius will be starting his voyage to it soon. 

I haven’t seen Lily in a while, so I don’t know just how close she is yet, but I assume she will be finishing her courses soon. I want to catch up to her so that we can make the voyage to the main continent together, but it will take a lot of effort to get ahead in my classes and do so. 

I eventually went to sleep while dreaming of a bright future for my family, our planet, and hopefully our whole solar system…
