Chapter 8: 8 History of the Universe

“All done.” I told the goddess. 

“Good, now I need to brief you on the history of the universe and how the game works as per the rules of your world.” She said. 

“Let’s start with the history of the universe.

Billions of years ago, our universe was born. 

Through an explosion, trillions of galaxies were born with trillions of planets and solar systems.
The very first intelligent life was born in one of these galaxies, just a few years after our universe was born. The A1 Galaxy gave birth to three different intelligent species, the Ancient Dragons, the Fae, and the Demons. These three races would later become known as the primordial species of life, but they weren’t worried about that at the time. 

The problem is that the Dragons were so much more powerful than the Demons and the Fae. The two other races were oppressed by the Dragons for millions of years, and in most cases were enslaved.
Their oppression didn’t end until a subspecies of Fae, known as the Dwarves, created a special device.
The Dwarves were created through a mutation in a group of Fae people, caused by the environment of their home planet. The Dwarves were given a genetic predisposition to be great craftsmen, but not so good fighters. This proved to be a massive problem for them, as it was much easier for the Dragons to oppress them. 

The Dwarves decided to not go down without a fight, so they got to work on their top secret device known as a Virtual Reality Machine. The Dwarves created the first VR machine with the hopes of becoming stronger and increasing their fighting capabilities. 

Not so surprisingly, the machine worked. It was able to take in the ambient mana and other things from the air and infuse them into their Dwarven bodies, increasing their strength. The machine evolved their bodies past their previous limitations, and allowed them to fight back against their oppressors. 

When the Demons and the Fae learned of this, they wanted a piece of the pie as well. The Dwarven King decided to give the technology to them as well, creating the Universal Treaty Organization. 

The VR machine was used to create a game where the Demons, Fae, and Dwarves could play with each other and evolve. 

They were able to grow stronger and get rid of most of the Dragons with their newfound strength. 

The Dragons, on the cusp of their extinction, decided to join the UTO and end the conflict once and for all. The Dwarves, Demons, and Fae accepted them into the treaty organization under one condition, they had to settle all future disputes within the game, not in real life. Everyone was tired of the senseless death at this point, so they all just wanted peace. The solution they found to this was to have their wars in the virtual world, with the consequences being doled out in the real world. Death is almost never used as a consequence, but slavery and torture are used frequently for the losers of the wars. 

Billions of years have passed now since the UTO has been formed. The Dwarves have found many solar systems and many new intelligent species since then, and expanded the game to fit the whole universe as best as they can. 

Now, how the game works is that each ruler chooses how their tutorial game works, with the help of me, and once they have reached a certain power level, they are allowed to go into the main game.
The power level they must reach is known as the universal standard power. The universal standard power level is when all species are at the same level of strength. Because of this, some species can spend less time within their tutorials, because it doesn’t take as long for them to get powerful enough to reach the USoP. For others, it may take decades to reach the USoP.
The USoP being the barrier into the real game is to make sure the game is fair for everyone once they enter. 

The Dwarves may be the masters behind the game, but they allow me free reign over the main game with things like events, quests, hidden classes, and unique classes. This is to make it fair for everyone.

Now, let’s get onto the rules your ruler has set for his subjects.

First, everyone is required to attend an academy of their choosing on the Tutorial Island. Once you have finished your studies you may then travel to the Main Continent. On the Main Continent, you will learn to really fight and level up. Once you have reached the USoP on the Main Continent, you will travel to the real VR game. 

The Main Continent is also known as Mendar. 

On Mendar, you will find many interesting things if you know where to look.

I thought about it for a while, but her explanation seemed crystal clear to me, and I had most of this knowledge before anyway.

“No, I don’t.” I said. 

“Good, then I will send you on your way. Your first day of the Royal Academy begins in 5 minutes.” Rhea said before snapping her fingers. 

A bright light quickly assaulted my eyes as I was teleported away. 

I closed my eyes to shield them, but as the light faded away I opened them back up. 

I was now in what looked like the auditorium of the school with hundreds of other 15 year olds. 

The auditorium was a large room with wooden floors and walls, and with a very high wooden ceiling. There was a stage up front with a podium, but no one stood behind it at the moment. 

All of the children, including me, wore our royal academy school uniforms.

The uniform consisted of a red blazer, a white dress shirt, a black sweater, a red tie, red pants, and black shoes. The women wore red skirts instead of red pants.
