A permanent smile stayed on the Jester of Gods’ mask-like face before it spun around in a jovial dance, clapping its hands together as mystical balloon animals in the shape of great beasts were summoned, surrounding Victor.

Honk. Honk,” The Jester spoke only in honks.

Victor huffed, beginning to combat the colossal balloon animals with sword strikes, having to summon further divine weaponry as projectiles he launched in order to circumvent the claustrophobic horde summoned by the Jester.

Such creatures born of sentient balloons varied from faceless dragons to roaring chimera.

“These games will not stop me,” Victor stated.

Though as the golden weapon wielded by the man popped one of the draconic balloons, he found the black-haired adolescent already in front of him, midway through swinging the pitch-black broadsword he wielded.

“No, but I will,” Noah responded.

Before Victor could attempt to block with his own blade, evade, or counter with projectile-based weapons manifested around the two, Noah didn’t allow for any such possibilities–

[“Absolute Freeze: Singular Motion”]

It was a more condensed, smaller-scale usage of the time-stopping magic, used only against Victor himself in order to freeze the man in place for his incoming sword strike.

“--!”

As he swept the all-black blade across the air, it distorted space, bypassing the golden-armor entirely as if ethereally projecting through it, yet rending the man’s flesh nonetheless.

Time resumed for Victor the moment the slash was finished, leaving him stumbling back as blood sprayed from the loose sections of his seraphic armor.

“Ngh-!” The man winced.

‘It’s as I thought: that armor is a nuisance, so using something like [Vanta Black] that bypasses armor is highly-effective,’ he thought.

It wasn’t over yet, exhibited by the fact that Victor pushed past his wound without any hesitance, swiftly engaging him in battle against with that lightning-like agility, sweeping across the uneven gravel in an instant.

A hefty portion of his own speed was put in prioritizing defense as he kept up with the man’s swordplay, clashing blade-against-blade repeatedly as shock waves rumbled the construction site and sparks danced in the air.

Though he’d never swung in his life prior to this exchange, his [Dexterity] skill gave him the necessary base to keep up, though he found himself clearly outmatched in finesse by the older gentleman.

The silver-haired, stern man moved like sparks circuing through wires, utilizing footwork that made it incredibly difficult to decipher his next move as each step he took left golden sparks igniting the stone he stepped over. Air itself was heated and expanded through the matter-surpassing agility at which Victor moved, pushing Noah to respond in kind.

Abandoned pillars of stone and concrete walls were shattered through their fast-paced sword clashes, though as he stepped backward, a single slab of concrete caused him to lose his footing for a split-second, yet that was more than enough for Victor to break through his defense.

“You’re a wrench thrown into the machine of balance in this world–for the future of humanity, fall!” Victor yelled.

Manifesting through portals of golden-and-silver essence, weapons of divine constitution were aimed towards him before firing off, breaking through the sound-barrier as they shot with the intensity of railguns.

‘Am I…going to die?’ Noah thought.

In his inexperience, such was the intrusive thought at the forefront of his mind as he watched with his hyper-reflexes as the destructive projectiles tore through the air, howling in his ears as his body was unable to keep up with his reaction.

Just as the weapons collided at the spot he stood, the impact released a seraphic energy, unleashing volatile masses of energy that swallowed the young man up.

Victor exhaled slowly, wiping the blood from his bottom lip as he stared towards the cloud of smoke, finding his job to be done.

–Though it only seemed so.

[“Spatial Warp”]

Appearing behind the man, Noah came through a wormhole, bearing bleeding cuts and bruises on his body as his shirt had been blown to tatters, but he was left intact, still fighting as he swung his pitch-black blade towards Victor.

Noah found his sword stopped just short of reaching its target, clashing against the golden blade wielded by the man.

“--So you survived even that? I’ll admit you're tenacious,” Victor said.

There was a different look in the young man’s eyes; the bored, ‘high-and-mighty’ stare as gone as a fiery glow was embedded in his gray irises.

Being pressed as so, a will of fire was born even in the darkness of the villain’s soul.

“I finally have a life I can appreciate…I’m not letting you take it away!” Noah gritted his teeth.

Victor looked at him, struggling to match his amplified strength, “You mean a fabricated life born on illusions? Do you really believe altering people’s memories creates genuine bonds? That’s the thought process of a villain; no, a child.”

Such words only further stoked the flame inside Noah as he moved one hand away from the handle of his sword, grabbing hold of Victor’s torn sleeve again.

“What–?” Victor reacted, but it wasn’t quite in time.

[“Spatial Warp”]

In an instant, the two were transported high into the sky, brought alongside the clouds, far above the prosperous city that seemed tiny now.

‘He brought us to the sky?!’ Victor realized, ‘Is he trying to take us both out–no, he’s not falling!’

Noah was prepared to take to the skies as he already invoked his desired spell: [“Levitation”], standing upright as if the air itself was a solid platform for him.

Beginning to plummet downward, Victor flailed his arms before an idea entered the experienced system wielder’s mind, prompting him to manifest mystical shields of seraphic gold beneath his feet.

Noah was surprised to find that the silver-haired man had stopped falling, now floating just as he did via the airborne shields.

Dressed in various wounds, Victor huffed, inhaling and exhaling deeply as his body was worn-and-torn from the conflict, though Noah’s wounds fixed themselves naturally through a simple spell.

[“Absolute Recover’]

“You’ll die if this keeps up,” Noah told him calmly, levitating above him amongst the clouds, “I think we both know that you don’t stand a chance.”
