Chapter 28: Snow… more snow. 1.28

A dream...

I was walking in unknown place. Searching for something...

When will my search finally end? Oh, how long have I walked across this world... Too long... far too long.

I saw the trees grow. From the warm summer with gentle wind to cold winter with long nights.

No matter how many years went by I didn't change... I came to conclusion after many years of traveling.

The world was empty... No humans or intelligent species inhabited it... I walked seeing everything it had from the strange glowing plants to waterfalls falling towards the sky...

From deserts to an seemingly endless forest.. Over snowy mountains to across vast seas...

One day I met two people... They were not normal people just like myself... a pair of brothers. One had blonde hair and sunny smile. The other had dark hair and a scowl...

They both had horns... the light one had antlers and the dark one curved horns like goats have.

"..."

It's cold...

"Primrose!" A familiar voice and

someone shaking me. I was in comfortable softness... it's cold.

"Primrose!"

*slap*

"Wha!" I opened my eyes feeling my left cheek that was just hit.

A vast world of darkness and snow. Small snowflakes were falling gently even now between the sea of trees in front of me.

"Weiss..." I muttered the name of the girl kneeling in front of me with slightly worried look on her face.

"Are you okay? Does it hurt anywhere?" I looked at the white haired girl who had snow in her hair talking to me.

I looked at the sky not seeing the bullhead anywhere... rather it was hard to see anything but darkness and falling snow. I could barely see Weiss who was near me. My aura was almost at rock bottom too... must have shielded me from the fall.

... I remembered myself dropping at fast speed until something broke my fall partly and darkness.

I looked around seeing I was covered in snow and broken twigs of pine tree and needles...

"I"m okay... my aura took most of the damage. What about you? Did you see what happened to the bullhead?" I rose to sit and looked at Weiss into her blue eyes.

"I used my semblance to slow my fall... I wasn't able to catch you as you fell to a different direction from me." I nodded at Weiss... Not like I can blame you.

"The bullhead was in flames the last I saw of it. They must have crash landed somewhere or kept flying?" I narrowed my eyes hearing the new information... rather didn't she slap me awake just now?

... I will remember this.

I rose up looking around me... I'm glad I took the shoes and coat... my aura can't hold long and then it will be really cold.

"Weiss did you see my spear?" I looked at the white haired girl who slowly rose up while swiping the snow from her skirt and head.

"I didn't see it, but a lot of stuff dropped near here. We should look if we can find anything useful before thinking of a next plan." I heard her voice change to gentle one while speaking.

I swept my head feeling needles falling from there. I started shaking my clothes to get every needle away and snow that had accumulated. after doing so I nodded at Weiss direction. It was a good plan after all.

"Lets not split up too far." I looked at the dark forest around us. There was amble space between some of the trees... rather how come they are so tall?

I looked up at the towering trees while walking with difficulty on the deep snow.

I heard a sound of liquid as I turned to see Weiss following me with irritated face. She was looking at my steps and following the path I was making... Oh yeah the sake?!

I took the white gourd out seeing that it was still in one piece... it had cracks though...

Too close... I swept my cold sweat away feeling I was pretty lucky it didn't break from the fall... I forced some aura to the gourd which glowed with pink for a moment... the cracks didn't get fixed.

... can I refund this?

"Haah..." I sighed and took the black cork away before taking a small sip of the burning sweet liquid feeling little warmer almost immediately.

Now that I think about it... I could change the alcohol percentage of the liquid to over 50% to make it flammable with my alcohol manipulation? Then I could lit it to flames while it's flying to make fireballs? Heheheh...

The aura cost would be double though? Maybe... Have to test it later.

"Look over there!" I turned to Weiss seeing her pointing at something between trees... It looked like an broken box. Nice.

After little difficulty we saw it had dust crystals and some kind of plastic pieces to protect them.

I took a blue crystal from the broken box first time holding up close one of the dust crystals... I thought it was beautiful.

"Finally! I was thinking I will never get some dust again." I gave a look at the dust heiress stuffing dust crystals to her pockets...

I took some too and put them on my left pocket.

"Safe handling of dust. Check." I was juggling with three blue dust crystals while smirking at Weiss.

"Stop it! They are not toys... I know we are not in the most optimistic situation, but they are not for playing..." I stopped hearing her voice getting lower and lower to the end.

"We will be fine Weiss. As you said I bet the whole Atlas is looking for the Terrorists. If we wait for morning and make us somehow visible I'm sure we will be found soon." I smiled to the Heiress who seemed to gain her confidence back.

"Right. There is no way General Ironwood hadn't already sent troops to look for us. In fact I bet even the special operatives are looking for us." Weiss started to smile little while looking at something not here. Must have thought about Winter looking for her.

"Lets keep looking for more stuff and stay positive. I don't want the grimm coming after us right now." I saw Weiss nodding at me as we continued walking to the same direction the box was at.

"Look it's my spear!" I saw a familiar purple shaft buried on one of the trees.

"Ha!" With burst of Aura I pulled the spear out twirling it on my hands.

...

It consumes aura to carry this... f*ck...

"I don't think we will find anything useful anymore... it's been almost an hour already and we have found only broken pieces of debris." Weiss stopped behind me breathing deeply... I was exhausted myself too. I had barely aura to carry the spear.

"Lets go towards the mountains..." I looked at the high shadows far away... closest being quite near. "We may find some cover there for the night."

"Yes..." Weiss sounded weak and tired... me too.

We traveled for half an hour nearing the mountain closest to us.

"Grrrowll!"

I stopped walking turning my spear towards the sound as Weiss jumped little away from me, while holding blue crystal on her right hand.

"It's grimm." As Weiss voice stopped three black and white, wolf like grimm walked out from behind trees.

Unlike wolfs however they were at least twice as big. They also had white masks made of bone and ice spikes growing from their back. I looked at the glowing pair of red eyes feeling uneasy.

Okay I have practiced for this. I took a firm stance while holding the spear towards the grimm running towards me.

I stepped forward using the second step of the celestial steps skill.

The first step allowed me to navigate during fights with surprising flexibility.

The second step however was just aura boosted one directional burst of speed. I was in front of the grimm almost immediately...

I felt my spear go trough the head of the grimm...

"Aaaaaaaa...!" I also lost my balance halfway trough due to the snow and flew over the grimm.

The second grimm froze in front of my eyes as I flew towards it.

*Crack!*

I stepped on the ice which appeared on the now frozen grimm.

"Don't move!" I heard Weiss yell as I turned to see the last grimm already leaping towards me.

"Waa!" I jumped down from the frozen grimm boulder to see three ice spikes pierce the last grimm.

"Nice Weiss!" I said and turned the white haired girl breathing heavily little further away.

I slowly walked to the girl clearly exhausted.

"... I can't go much further." Weiss eyes were closed and she seemed paler than usual.

... "There's possibility that the grimm had a cave around here." I tried to smile while feeling really spent myself... The little aura I had recovered almost all spent again.

"Or there could be more grimm there..." Weiss spat out. I grimaced at the possibility of another attack.

"...Not like we have a choice. We just have to be as careful as we can..." I didn't believe my own words... There is no way we could sneak under the grimm's senses.

"..." Weiss didn't say anything as I removed the purple spear from the smoking grimm's eye socket.

We continued walking at slow pace... I had to slow down so Weiss will not be left too far behind of me.

I soon saw the roots of the mountain after walking under two big crossed trees which made a triangle like hole to walk trough.

I turned seeing Weiss stopping moving and falling to her knees.

"Weiss?" I called out before walking to the girl kneeling on snow.

"I can't..." I looked at the heiress for a second before stabbing the spear to ground to my side.

"I will carry you. I think I saw something little further away." I was bullshitting... not like I could leave her here.

The white haired girl looked up at me for a second with her blue eyes, before nodding. I crouched down in front of Weiss and felt the girl climbing on my back. Holding her cold hands under my neck.

I took a hold of the girls legs and stood up.

... crap she is heavy...

I boosted myself with aura feeling the small amount left leaving me as I took a step forward... and another.

The cold wind swept snowflakes at my face... I felt comfort at the warm figure pressed tightly against my back. I felt her two small mounds pressing on my back as I walked...

Each step forward was a fight I was losing at fast pace... My legs felt like they were burning as I kept walking on the deep snow.

"There is something over there." I heard Wriss say something to my ear... She lifted her hand to point at something to our right. A black hole under a slight wedge on the mountain... The entrance to the cave was half covered by the snow, but not completely.

"I see it..." I muttered out while breathing deeply.

Soon I was near the hole dropping Weiss gently beside me.

"Shall we?" I said to Weiss who nodded while we both swept the snow away to get inside.

The tunnel opened to a larger cave with total darkness...

"Hello!" I called out loudly hearing it rever for a moment...

Silence.

"It seems to be empty." Weiss sighed from relief.

"We should try to sleep to recover aura." Weiss seemed to want to say something, but closed her mouth.

I turned back to the entrance before covering it up with snow to stop the cold wind from entering the cave.

A total darkness...

"Primrose... We need to hug." I looked towards the sound of Weiss seeing nothing.

"To keep warm?" I heard a small yes to my question.

I soon felt a set of hands touching my shoulder so I took her hand.

"Should we be in undergarments for this to be most effective?" I smirked despite the situation we were in.

"Yes... It's only because we have no other choice!" I heard Weiss voice go couple octaves higher for a second before silence descended between us.

I slowly took the jacket away and sat over it. Next I took my shirt away Leaving only the white bra there. Next I took my shoes away. I heard the rustling of clothes next to me.

I took my white tights away next. "Are you ready?" I asked with gentle voice.

"Give me your hand." I soon found Weiss and took her cold and soft hand to my own.

"It's only because of the situation okay?" I smiled at the girl even thought she could not see it.

Soon I felt Weiss pressing her chest against mine while covering me with her bigger jacket she took on the bullhead.

I felt Weiss's hot breath against my neck as the girl held me close to her skin. Her legs wrapped around mine and I felt her body heat against mine.

Weiss smelled sweet. I felt the bra strap with my hand as I used my hand to press the girl close to me. My other hand was under her waist.

"Lets sleep and recover... also you may call me Prim... okay?" I smiled hearing the girl whisper gently.

"Prim... good night."

"Sweet dreams Weiss... Sweet dreams."
