Protagonists are evil, especially the justice-driven ones.

Living their lives while thinking that they have some kind of an obligation towards this world, as if they are the only ones who hold the weight of the entire universe on their back as if they are the only ones who care about the world.

Honestly, this attitude of theirs show nothing but the sheer amount of arrogance these arrogant self-righteous protagonists possess and mask under the shadow of words like ‘responsibility’ or ‘purpose’, I hate protagonists such as them with passion.

But,

Even though I call out these justice-driven fools who love playing the hero I don't find the other types of protagonists to be much better than them.

If justice-driven protagonists are like AIDS then the other types of protagonists are probably like COVID and its variants.

For example take anti-hero protagonists who by nature aren’t patrons of justice and only act according to their benefits.

This behavior of theirs caused a new sensation amongst the readers who were most likely fed up with the generic good-natured protagonist.

The concept of anti-hero is, in my opinion, one of the greatest human discoveries in the field of literature but there's something I don't get, I don’t know why most of these anti-hero protagonists have a sad backstory, it’s like the respective authors are dying to convey to the readers that this cool-headed dude, who unlike the other self-righteous punk isn't running around in places trying to establish himself as a saint or the last hope of humanity or something, would’ve been no different from that good-natured fool if it weren’t for that specific incident in their life.

The biggest selling point of anti-hero protagonists is the way they act and think differently as compared to their generic counterparts! I don’t get why authors nowadays would even try to diminish their apathetic or cold nature as something like the aftermath of a traumatic incident of their life.

I mean I am not saying that I hate anti-heroes with sad backstories, no, I do love them a lot, provided that things like these are done properly. But since this theme of an anti-hero protagonist with a sad past has been used so many times even the readers are now getting bored of protagonists like that.

Nobody is going to buy the same thing twice. No matter how much you recycle a story unless and until you don't write something entirely new, you would never be appreciated.

And then lastly coming to the infamous villainous protagonists, well what can I say about them apart from that most of them are cringe. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love villainous leads, I still remember the first time I read a comic with a villainous lead, and trust me the moment I started reading that comic I fell in love with the mc’s character.

After that, I tried some other novels and comics with a similar type of mc but the feeling was never the same, honestly, I was left disappointed after reading so many other works as I was unable to enjoy any of them.

These kind of protagonists have the same flaw as the anti-hero type's. The same theme has been recycled so many time that people have now gotten bored of themes such as these.

Not deviating away from the topic, apart from the protagonists' behavior patterns there's one more thing that I completely hate about them, that is, whatever they do there is almost always a good or noble reason behind it.

Like I remember reading a novel where the villain's girl cheated on him with the protagonist but instead of feeling ashamed of his actions or even bothering to issue an apology the protagonist kept on acting as if he had done the noblest thing a human could ever manage to do. I mean seriously, you just ntr'ed someone, don't you feel bad for your actions? Scumbag.

But what annoyed me even more than that was the girl who cheated on her boyfriend. Instead of feeling ashamed do you know what she said?

She said, "you don't understand my feelings!", and started crying like she was the victim, not the poor guy who just got cheated on.

I am no expert when it comes to women, honestly, I am quite lacking in the matters related to women but even I can say that this girl is a b*tch! I mean you just cheated on your boyfriend without any proper reason.

Like, you could've just talked to him about your issues, but no, since you are fed up with the relationship you are going to cheat on him. I don't know how many holes do you have in your brains, but you know what, it wouldn't be wrong if the doctors were to declare you braindead. Dumb b*tch.

Well whatever, it's not like it's only the girl's fault. The most faulty one here is the one who wrote that dumb shit, the author.

All the problems that I have with different kinds of protagonists that I just listed above arise from the simple fact that the author decided to write them in such a way, after all, they are not real humans at the end of the day.

They are just the creations out of the empty mind of some guy who must have been day dreaming while sipping his coffee in the balcony of his 1-bedroom flat or maybe someone who was having constipation and was desperately struggling to clear off the coast in a public toilet with a long queue.

So fed up with everything or that’s what I tell everyone, I decided to start writing a novel of my own.

And then after 6 months of novel writing, my records were as such,

Novels written: 7, Total number of words: ~400,000, Total number of views: ~6000, Total number of followers: 20

I don’t know why but ever since I was just a child I considered myself to be ‘different’ from everyone around me.

And now here I was with such a horrific record of the writings that represented my soul.

I guess my soul must be really cheap.

For someone who was calling out other authors for their stories being generic, mine weren't even able to make it to the novel website's 'recommended novel' list.

...

“Aaahhhh!... no use thinking about it now!!!”, issuing a shout I grabbed my hair and shook my head forcefully as if I was possessed by a ghost or something and then got up from the heap of grass I had been laying on for the last 10 minutes or so.

I was in a terrible mood as I had once again been reminded of my life giving me a bitter aftertaste in my mouth. Honestly, I didn’t want to think about my past after all,

“Stop shouting, you punk or there’s no lunch for you today!!!”, a roar strong enough to split the earth and divide the heavens reverberated throughout the surroundings hurriedly snapping me out of my anger.

...after all, I was reincarnated as a minor character in my own novel.
