Looking at the guards for the second time, Lucas sighed when they weren't calming down. Perhaps it was because of his aura? Or was it because of the unknown maneuvered light ball earlier that killed all nine bandits?

Lucas scoffed and waved his hands at them. "Don't worry, I'm really not a suspicious person."

Unaware, the guards are already in a ready position, pointing their weapons at Lucas, who, in their eyes, is a suspicious individual. Out of nowhere, he appeared and killed the bandits, who knew who sent him.

"Who are you? State your business! Who sent you?!" One of the guards roared, despite feeling powerless in front of a person with an inferior cultivation base.

Lucas raised his eyebrow and looked at himself. He's not a normal person to look at. His outfit differs from his prowess, so perhaps that's why the guards are wary of him.

Lucas just nodded and explained himself. "I am a rogue cultivator, I already mentioned it. And I am… Claus, I'm just on my way to the nearest city, and I hope you have a good day." He smiled and acted to continue his way in the city's direction. He also mentioned a fake name, which is unnecessary, but it just went natural for him.

However, before he could do so, a loud exclamation came from the inside of the carriage. A young lady in beautiful robes peeked her head out of the window of the carriage.

Feeling agitated that she'd never meet the person again, the young lady threw her proud attitude and called out Lucas.

"Wait! Can I have a talk with you?!" The young lady asked in a high voice.

Lucas instinctively gazed back at the carriage and saw a beautiful lady wearing a hopeful expression. He raised his eyebrow before smiling and replying, "Of course, I don't mind."

The guards gasp and express their thoughts. Even though they had to be rude, they prioritized their lady's safety.

"Young Lady Sora, there's no way we can let a suspicious individual be at your side!" One of the guards exclaimed in a low tone to be sure that Lucas wouldn't hear it.

The young lady just rolled her eyes and called out to Lucas with her hands.

"Aren't I on a journey to find a potential partner?! This is my chance to ask for his identity. Forget about his background; we can provide it for him. What's important is his talent." She scolded.

"But… it's not our point. Maybe he is an assassin sent to kill you by your family's enemy."

"I still have the life-saving treasure. I will use it! So, I will not let this chance escape!"

From afar, Lucas, who was observing them, just released a snicker inwardly. He finds the situation funny since they are all acting on their instincts without even thinking properly.

If this had been his previous world, they would have thanked him immediately and even offered him compensation. But alas, this is a more dangerous world and they must set their instincts on the line just to be safe.

"Perhaps that's how dangerous the cultivation world is," Lucas mumbled.

The guards didn't continue to argue with their young lady; they just surrendered and called out for Lucas to approach them.

Lucas willingly approaches them even though the guards are shooting daggers in their eyes.

"Greetings. I am Claus." Lucas said hiding his real identity.

The young lady who was mesmerizing herself while watching Lucas snapped out of her fantasy. She smiled at him and introduced herself.

"Hello, I am Sora Su, a daughter from the Su Family. I think you already know my family, right?"

Lucas was speechless at her confidence. It was really just his third day in this world, and he didn't know any family or famous families in this world.

He just smiled at her and said, "Please forgive my ignorance, but I haven't heard from your family. In fact, I don't know any famous families."

His words made Sora stiff and frozen in embarrassment. She was boastful at that point, for the purpose of raising her identity for no reason.

Her lips' corners twitched before she spoke. "I apologize. It wasn't my purpose to brag about my family."

Even without replying to her, Lucas just chuckled to lift the mood.

"Uhm… may I ask where are you heading to?"

"I'm on my way to the next city. I wanted to cultivate and sell some of my cores to buy some time at a cultivator's place."

"So, you were a powerful person in reality. Can I ask again what did you use earlier?"

'Oh shit.' Lucas swore inwardly. 'I guess I will just reason it out… as a treasure I guess?'

Lucas smiled, "It was just a treasure, but I can't show it to you since it's my secret."

"Oh… sorry for that. Then I have a question again: which family are you from? Despite your clothes, I can feel a noble aura coming from you. I can guess that you are just hiding your identity."

Lucas was silent for a moment while the guards outside were stiffened by hearing it. They were afraid that maybe they had offended someone from a famous family. Forget about their lives, they are more afraid of the outcome of their imprudence.

Lucas, who thought about her speculation, just scoffed and ignored her words. "Take a guess. But even if you are right, I won't spill the beans."

Sora snorted inwardly before speaking again, "I understand. If you don't mind, can I escort you to the nearest city? We are on our way to a stop. Perhaps you could join us if you don't mind."

"Sure, I think it's okay. Thank you anyway."

"Guards, start moving."

The guards bowed, rode on the coachman's seat, and swung the reins.

"So, Sir Claus, what do you do for a living?"

"Nothing, I said earlier. I'm a rogue cultivator." He said, but inwardly he followed his words. 'Why are you asking me that? I can't answer it because, obviously, I'm still green in this world!'

"But, for a rogue cultivator like you, how can you manage to gather resources? You are at least at the peak of the Apprentice Spirit Realm."

"Well, I cultivate normally." And inwardly, he followed again, 'I just got a chance to cultivate for 30 hours!'

"How old are you, by the way?" Sora asked, tilting her head to see Lucas's face.

'I don't know… But if I judge my appearance, I'm at least 18 years old.' He thought and smiled at her, and spilled that he was 18 years old.

"18 years old?! You are not just a rogue cultivator, you are also still young! You must have the talent to reach the peak." Sora said in a fast manner since she was surprised by Lucas's words.

Hearing it, Lucas pondered that maybe he had a talent that is not normal for everyone. At first, he was unsure that he thought that the average cultivation base of people was the Master Spirit Realm. However, since Sora mentioned that he is talented, perhaps his pace is fast since he only cultivated once.

'I didn't expect that I would get a chance to ascend this fast. But I will enjoy this world first. Since I heard that there is another realm, or should I say, the layer of this world for immortals, I can ascend there if I keep my pace steady.' He thought.

"Am I talented enough? I guess you're wrong." He asked to be sure that his theory was right.

Fortunately, Sora answered his questions and unsureness, making it certain that he is fast enough.

"When did you start cultivating?"

"I guess last month." He lied.

"You really are talented! Cultivating at the first stage is slow since you still have to process your cultivation technique. It even takes years on average to fully grasp a cultivation technique, so if you're saying you are already at the peak, what are you waiting for before you breakthrough?!"

Sora's excitement sparked Lucas's scoff at – not in a bad way, but his amusement with her. He really didn't mind being seen as talented. However, this scene is the first time since he got into this world.

"I see. So, I guess thank you for the compliment." Lucas smiled.

Meanwhile, outside the carriage, where the guards can hear every word, they are speaking, pondering and almost dazed by how their young lady is acting.

'Just what happened to Young Lady? Why is she acting that way?' All of them wondered while their faces were on the road but their eyes were on the carriage.

They just shrugged, 'I think it's good so that Young Lady won't be arrogant again.'
