Just as they finished assessing the information, Ellisa and Ureff decided to leave the lodging house to relax for a while. They had already stressed themselves out of the situation with the Profound Symbol, as they had reached the limit of their abilities.
Even if they tried to attack them, it would be useless since they don't know anything about the special competitor. He could retaliate and turned out to be a stronger foe without their knowledge.
And so, they decided to put their investigation on hiatus. They would only wait until the official opening of the competition and search for the special competitor at that time.
They could also assess his abilities at that time, which is less hassle and safer.
If he turns out to be a formidable foe, they would not dare bet their lives on that matter. There are plenty of chances where they can absorb energy and also learn more things. They should be patient.
At the very least, they decided to have a walk in the marketplace.
"Hey, Brother Ureff, don't you think your outfit is too eye-catching? I mean, even if you love the Gothic style, you should put it in a place and time." Ellisa said.
Ureff slowly looked at his clothes, then shook his head.
"It is beautiful. Why would I let them decide on my nobility? Just let them have an eye on my outfit; it isn't the first time after all."
Ellisa only shrugged at that calm Ureff's answer. She just let it be and continued looking at the items displayed on the sidewalk.
"Hello, miss. Do you mind testing this necklace? I think it is so beautiful if you wear it."
Ellisa slowly stopped as someone had called her from the stalls. She stopped and looked at what the vendor was referring to. She then smirked, looking at how the necklace was.
It was beautifully carved and made from an unknown type of stone. As she looked at the picture the carving had, she couldn't stop but smile.
"Hmm... I think it is really beautiful. Do you have more?" Ellisa asked as she got curious about other designs of the necklace.
"Of course, miss, I have some. Please wait here for a moment."
The vendor lowered her stance and opened some small drawers, searching for an item. While she was doing it, Ureff approached Ellisa and asked about it.
"Hmm...? You are buying a necklace?" Ureff calmly asked, with his usual uninterested eyes.
Ellisa raised her eyebrow as she noticed how Ureff's eyes went back to usual. And as she couldn't contain herself, she asked.
"Why are you putting back those kinds of eyes?"
"Well, it is natural. I am sorry, Sister Ellisa." Ureff said.
"Okay..." Then she went back to looking at the necklace.
"You still didn't answer me. You want that necklace? I can get that for you." Ureff said.
Ellisa, as she heard it, could only snort and said, "You don't even have the money."
Then Ureff suddenly answered, "Did I say I would buy it?"
Ellisa became silent as she darted a glare at him.
"Get lost. Get away from here. You don't do that to an honest shop with beautiful necklaces. You don't have a little respect for her." Ellisa pouted.
Ureff only scoffed as he covered his mouth as well.
"Do you think it suits you? A chicken wearing a necklace? That's unbelievable and also the funniest idea I've heard."
Ellisa clapped unwillingly and retorted as well.
"Wow... You seem to be not so noble, huh?" Ellisa sarcastically said.
Well, Ureff had been pronouncing his words with class. What a class by his standards is soft voice and pronunciation.
That is also why Ellisa could just sarcastically say it, as it wasn't bad to hear his voice.
"Tsk. Just get lost. I'm not even going to talk about my necklace preferences. Yet you are here mocking me just because of it." Ellisa said with irritation. She forcedly looked at the necklaces and appreciated the art, and she succeeded. As soon as she looked at them again, she was mesmerized.
Meanwhile, Ureff just rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, looking in different directions with no particular thought staring at them.
The lady went back after she had searched for the item she wanted to let Ellisa see. She gazed at her then smiled as well.
"This... Do you think it is beautiful?" The vendor asked.
Ellisa became speechless as she looked at the feather design in golden color. She said the design of the necklace was too...
Ellisa snapped back and went back to looking at the vendor. She smiled and said, "I will be buying this. How much is this?"
"It will be for two gold coins."
"Okay!" Then she took out the money from her pocket and placed it in front of the vendor.
The vendor was speechless as she stared at Ellisa leaving her stall. Then, later on, a grin appeared on her face.
"She really did buy it. It was even the cheapest necklace I had and I only sold it for an unbelievable price. But still, she bought it? What a clueless kid she is." Then she chuckled.
The vendor continued staring at Ellisa while grasping the two cold coins in her palm.
"Wahahaha..." She laughed and then shot her eyes back to the palm, but she was surprised to see what was on her palm. There was nothing...
"Where did it go?" she panicked, exclaimed inwardly.
Meanwhile, as Ellisa and Ureff left the stall, Ureff was secretly grinning. Then in his mind, he was saying, "That lady dares to trick Sister Ellisa. How dare she do that in front of me, of all people? What a funny person."
Ureff had read the lady's intent to sell the necklace, and as he really thought of getting the necklace without paying for it, he did so since it was even sold at an unreasonable price. At the very least, he could punish the lady appropriately.
"Anyway, why do you like necklaces?" Ureff asked as they swam through the crowd in the marketplace.
Ellisa hung up before answering, as she was putting her necklace around her neck. After that, she answered.
"Because they were beautiful accessories."
"That is all?" Ureff pondered.
Then, Ellisa nodded as she left Ureff pondering what's with necklaces. They don't even look that beautiful to him.
Bump!
Ureff's attention was drawn when she collided with a lady. She was beautiful to people, but to Ureff, she was just average. However, he was looking at her as soon as they bumped for some reason.
He wasn't mesmerized, but he felt attached to her as he felt a familiar essence from the lady.
"Sorry," the lady said, and she lowered her head and went back to the group she was in.
And still, Ureff was intently looking at her from behind. His eyes were still on her even after a few meters had been the distance between them. And as he almost took time staring at her, Ellisa, who had felt Ureff was not following her, called out for him.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Meanwhile, the lady that had bumped into Ureff walked with some of her peers. They passed at one stall, and as one from her group noticed who she bumped into, she commented.
"Hey, didn't you see that man looking at you?" She said to the lady.
"Ah... I didn't notice," a brief reply came from her.
When she noticed it, she shoved the lady's shoulder and said, "Here you are again being cold. Out of our 5 members, you are really the one silent, even if you are the prettiest of us all."
"Huh? What does it even mean, Senior Sister Milaya? " The lady asked.
"You don't know? If you are pretty, be confident. You can be talkative if you want."
"But I don't want." The lady abruptly said.
The four of this group of five ladies chuckled as they noticed how this lady became serious for a short time.
"Why are you so serious, Junior Sister Pearl? What are some things that bother you every time? Was it still because you had escaped from the Eastern Region from some of the investigators that wanted to learn about the savior of your city?"
The lady, Pearl, shook her head and replied.
"I am sorry if I am always like this, Senior Sisters, but I just don't feel like talking much. I have been like this since birth. I am really sorry." Pearl lowered her head and everyone was flustered by her actions.
And as a response, they lifted her body to straighten it.
"Oh... We are only joking. How can you really be like that? I am hurt."
"Yeah, I am as well. We are just joking. You have the option of being on your own. We are not pressuring you, hehe. Okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. Ahh! Look at that beautiful necklace. Let's try to see it."
"Ahhh... don't buy it there, it's fake."
"How can you say so? Is your family a family of artisans?"
"What if I say "yes"? Come on, let's go.. It's too boring here."
