"Hmmm..." After meditating and successfully unsealing some of his core, Lucas was left pondering.
He looked down on a whim and zoomed-in his vision to see well what was happening below him. In particular, there weren't actually something interesting happening but for some unknown reason, there were people looking at him from below.
'What's their problem?' He thought as to also follow with pondering.
When he looked more into them, they weren't hostile to him, in actuality; they were waiting for something.
'Were they waiting for me to go down?'
Now that he thought about it, there might be no reason for him to hide his identity anymore. Now that he had a new mask, his high cultivation base, no one would be wondering and question his power.
If that's the case, then no one can pose a threat to him in this world.
Well, to be precise, he doesn't like people who like to experiment like dark alchemists. Maybe some could exist that he can't defeat, it's not bad to be cautious.
Dark alchemy is essentially alchemy that goes beyond the taboo such as playing souls and mortal bodies.
'Really... I must have become an amazing person like in the past.' He scoffed as he slowly descended.
The people below made a space for him to descend, and when he finally at the ground, all of them kowtowed to him.
"We welcome Senior Expert!"
Lucas was at first flabbergasted because of the sudden explosion of words. And when he looked at them intently, they were all sweating as if they made overmuch effort in this place.
Presently that makes him wonder, what's their purpose?
"Were you waiting for me to descend?" he asked.
All of them nodded but no one dared to speak, thus, it made him sigh as it was getting annoying how the people acting in front of him.
"I personally ask you to talk. Why are you waiting for me?" he asked and all of them flinched.
'Seriously. Did I become that strong? Or was it because I was flying? Now that I think of it, I don't know how cultivators fly.'
The group of people looked at a person who appears to be the representative of the group. With still his head bowing down, he slowly speaks.
"We truly welcome Senior Expert. But for the reason, we are standing here waiting for you was because we ask for your help." Then he gulped a mouthful.
Lucas made a pondering look. As he thought of it and concludes some things, it might that there is another situation that needed his assistance. He is not self-centered in reality, but as much as possible, he won't want to help when he was still in the previous world.
'But this isn't the world I lived. I must say, I blended with the norm, right?'
"What is it? What help are you seeking from me?"
All of them were visibly surprised then he answered.
"Thank you for your benevolence, Senior Expert!" the representative kowtowed once again.
Lucas raised his eyebrow. It must be the reason that the representative acts this way was because cultivators are deemed to be arrogant because of their powers.
Now that Lucas thought of it, he peeked into their cultivation bases as there are hints of spiritual energy within their bodies.
'Hmm... Master and at least the peak of Warrior Spirit Realm? Why are these people who were relatively strong in the majority waiting...?'
"Can you cut to the chase? What's the help you wanted? I don't have much time."
'I have plenty but it's too annoying to talk with these people.'
All of them were significantly showing a hint of wrinkles in their appearance. And as he thinks of it, adults are the most difficult to deal with as they are not really simple-minded.
"Well, it's because we are attacked by the Heavenly Demon Sect." the representative said.
'Attacked? They are shameless to ask help from a person they don't even know. Or were they just desperate?'
"I see... So that Heavenly Demon Sect, were they evil? Your answer will depend on what my action will be." Lucas said, making the people breathe for a hope that was in front of them.
"We don't know. They were an inactive sect in the past but just a few days ago, they suddenly attacked us with the pretext that we, the people of Flower Dark Sect was making a plan to overwhelm them." the representative said with a slight tremble behind his tone.
"That's quite problematic. I don't know them, so can you elaborate what's the meaning of their pretext? Were there any meaning behind it?" Lucas asked.
Hesitantly, the representative answered Lucas's question. In particular, he was feeling agitated about what he'll say next, but intentionally coating his words as if beating around a bush.
"There is no truth behind their assumptions! However, they said that we had a cultivator with high spiritual energy with us. And because of it, they attacked us first to 'save' themselves."
Lucas sighed as he slightly understood what's the meaning behind the representative's words. He also noticed he was intentionally dragging and coating the information that Lucas seeks.
'It was because of me...? Pathetic. I am pathetic and so they are but perhaps...'
"Do you have any grudge with that sect that made them think that way?" Lucas asked as he tries to patch up the information that he currently has.
"Y-Yes..."
After hearing it, Lucas sighed and tapped the shoulder of the representative.
"Apologies..."
And as he said it, the faces of the people before him became dispirited.
Lucas noticed that they misunderstood him, as a result; he snickered.
"I don't mean that I won't help you. I mean that I want to apologize that you suffer because of me. It was because they sensed me, right?"
The representative's eyes widened as how Lucas hit the point behind his coating. And as he felt that finally, they could be saved, he kowtowed once again.
"Please forgive us as well for bothering your rest. Please save us!"
"Please save us!" the people followed.
'I guess that some people dedicate themselves too much to one thing. Perhaps the same as mine and now, I could see the resemblance of my action in the past. They are desperate to save their place.'
Lucas nodded and pulled them to stand up.
"I am also at fault, so this time, when I save your sect, settle the grudge with that sect so that this won't happen again," Lucas said.
But there is some that he realized that was missing. He was looking for a certain powerful individual that must have before him if they were asking for him.
"By the way, where's your Sect Master? I don't see any particular stronger cultivators that can manage a sect.." Lucas muttered and just like that, all of them kowtowed again.
