"My Lady, my Lady!"

The maids' panicked yelling morphed the chilling atmosphere into suppressed fear.

"A terribly commander arrived in the middle of the grounds! The commander inhaled the paralyzing venom from a Delythea, and we need help! Our mages are occupied, my Lady...!"

Her voice trailed off and she supported herself by her knees and calmed her ragged breathing.

"Show us the way," another exclaimed. We turned on our heels and followed the maid faster than I could comprehend.

My black hair waved in symphony as I walked with the group, trying to puzzle the pieces of clichés for how healing magic worked. How could I help if I didn't know magic?

I frantically tried to remember the path at the same time, too.

The ceramic tiles changed into marble, then wooden planks.

We were in the makeshift hospital, where the patients lay on beds.

The people gazed at our entrance.

When I noticed the saint stepping in front of me, I couldn't help but wonder.

Which Lady was the maid truly calling for?

There were four mages, and two critical patients.

There were three mages working on one commander who had inhaled the same paralyzing venom the soldier had taken.

Both their situations were dire.

There was only a single mage spared for the soldier, unlike three for the commander.

Why, you say?

Perhaps because of their statuses...

...But I'd no time to worry about that. I'd help the person who would had it worse, first.

It makes sense, right? I mean, even if that's the commander...?

But the saint had reached to him first.

I stepped towards the soldier, and did the same the mage in front of me did.

So many people were in this room.

Patients, maids, mages, people...

The saint had gone to the commander because she thought I'd be here, I presumed.

Sweat trickled down my forehead, and I hadn't even started. The other patients' and maids' gazes made me panic.

Then, after I held out the palms of their hands over the wound, I assumed there was 'mana' here.

It was risky, but that was the only thing I could think of when the air lightened and it got a bit windy.

And when you breathe in, you can feel it. Like imagining oxygen in your air.

Anyone can do this.

The sounds around me dimmed, as I unconsciously blocked them.

And then, I'd to imagine the human anatomy and send the mana in...

Huh?

Nothing happened...

Wait.

I don't know how to do this.

I actually don't.

This is fine.

What was I expecting jumping in?

I can feel the mana, so it's okay.

Worrying can't solve anything.

I can always try again.

I couldn't even open my eyes to check him.

He looked completely fine, but his breathing was so shallow that I was surprised he was alive.

First, the poison would attack his limbs.

Then his mind.

And at last, ...his heart.

I couldn't stop my habit to force optimism out of me.

Nevertheless, I kept going.

"Hah, hah, haa..."

My breathing eventually gave out.

The wind stopped, too.

Did I do it?

I checked the soldier's breathing and pulse rate from his wrist, and checked his breathing.

He was fine!

...I did it!

The mage in front of me, a boy younger than me, had stopped long ago, and stared at me.

"Is he okay?"

Sweat beads trickled down his ashen face.

"Yes, for now."

It was obvious he had overexerted himself, but I wasn't any better.

I felt exhausted, as if I'd pulled an all-nighter.

Occupied with myself, the mage announced to pass the information.

"The soldier is fine!"

He raised his voice for everyone to hear, and went over to the commander.

The commander was fine, too!

Two maids kept eye on the commander and the soldier.

Yes...

I breathed a sigh of relief.

My first patient was a success. I don't know what I would've done if it wasn't...

"My Lady, my name is Lyn."

The mage said. I bowed and introduced myself, as well.

"I'm Solenne, please call me that."

He lightly nodded. Turning his head, he walked over to the commander.

Naturally, I followed, but...

"I'm Verena. Can we talk?"

...The sain-, Verena, sidetracked me.
