"Princess Aurianna huh? Such a pity that your life would end so soon. No one can be prettier than I, the goddess of beauty," Paige laughed, looking at the princess with scorn.
__________
"Princess, it's time," Catherine told Aurianna, before finishing with the preparations by placing a daint tiara on her head.
"Let's go then."
"Yes Princess," the group of maids bowed before they began to escort Aurianna across the castle hall leading to the ballroom. The gigantic doors serving as an entrance into the ballroom slowly opened, and all the noise that had been heard from inside previously quieted down.
Everyone turned their attention. Aurianna stood in the doorframe, basking in all the eyes on her. Truly, this was a monumental day.
“Presenting: Princess Aurianna,” a knight in golden armor announced before a trumpet was blown.
Everyone clapped and she returned the gesture with a dignified bow, lifting her gown as she did so. She entered the ballroom, an elegant stride in her step. A few tried to strike a conversation with her by giving her a compliment or happy birthday wishes but they were quickly shut down by a cold glare.
"She's so beautiful," a lady praised as she looked at Aurianna in awe.
She was wearing a midnight blue gown that was embossed with light blue highlights, her sleeves were cut short, highlighting her shoulders, as a pair of long black sleeves covered her arms. A large light blue bowtie was attached to the back of the gown while similar bow ties were tied to both sides of her long hair.
"The rumors really are true, the princess is like a goddess," another person murmured in the crowd
"Her skin is as fair as snow," another person chimed in.
"Her eyes are like gems, so exotic," another person commented.
"What a fair lady!" A man shouted from the crowd.
"Thank the goddess for blessing Queen Amber with such a beautiful child," another person commented as the Queen watched from her seat with a pleased smile. A compliment like that was wasted on a woman as useless as her, or at least that’s what Aurianna thought to herself.
‘She’s not even my real mother anyway…’ She scoffed.
But now that pleasantries were out of the way, the time for the party had begun.
Aurianna, having a cold smile on her face, started walking towards the King, who was standing. Behind him were all the other princes seated except for Vatium who was noticeably absent. There remained a chair for him however it was empty, and was on the end of the line of royalty. If it was intentional or accidental that his chair remained there as well as being off to the side was unknown, but Aurianna noted it nonetheless.
Aurianna was beaming from ear to ear. But it wasn’t a sweet smile that one would expect from a girl celebrating her tenth birthday, it was quite sinister and almost unsettling.
“I hosted this party to celebrate my daughter Princess Aurianna's 10 birthday," King Girsal announced with a big smile.
All in attendance clapped once more.
"How do you like the party, Aurianna?" King Girsal knelt down and asked Aurianna.
"It seems interesting, I like it father," Aurianna said as she smiled.
"We have received a divination from our goddess that she would save us all from the wicked demons," King Girsal got up and announced.
"We all know how for centuries the demons have disrupted our peace and caused chaos in our borders, terrorizing our citizens and killing them. This is too much not only that the elves have also launched several attacks on us, the same goes for those foul beast people. That's why the goddess always blesses us with the Saintess to repel them with their holy light," the King monologued on.
'What a bunch of nonsense," Aurianna sneered as she looked at King Girsal with a mocking gaze.
'Why wouldn't they attack? You kidnapped their people after all, making them into slaves and yet you expect them to be quiet about it? I used to believe their lies but not anymore,' Aurianna thought to herself. She was trying her best to hide her annoyance. It wasn’t very good though as King Girsal picked up on her sudden shift in energy.
"This is why when my daughter grows up she'll also help the heroes who will be summoned to repel the demons once and for all!!" King Girsal continued his speech, ignoring Aurianna’s slightly bothered energy.
"Summon the hero?!" Someone gasped in shock.
"Is it really possible?" A person asked.
"It has been 500 years," another person muttered.
"This is marvelous, all hail his majesty King Girsal!!" The people praised joyously as King Girsal grinned.
Aurianna glared at the king, “Since when am I obligated to save you all from demons?”
Aurianna’s words cut through the cheers and voices like a sharp knife. Those who had previously shouted praises and joy instantly ceased. Turning to gaze at Aurianna in shock, including King Girsal and the rest of the royalty.
"What do you mean? Aurianna, the goddess is blessing you to protect the people. You shouldn't be lazy. Do you know how many people would love to be in your shoes?" King Girsal scolded her.
"And who exactly said the Saintess should save people she doesn't give a fuck about," Aurianna scoffed, an angered look in her eye.
Dumfounded, he stuttered, “W-well Aurianna, the goddess said so.”
Aurianna turned to look at the statue of the goddess Paige before her, raising her middle finger to her, “Well that bitch of a goddess can go fuck herself!”
If it was due to the silence or how loud Aurianna exclaimed it, her insult seemed to reverberate throughout the room. Almost echoing seeing how nothing else could possibly stop her at this moment.
No one knew what to say.
Many gazes were simply filled with shock at her boldness while others held anger and contempt for Aurianna. They wouldn’t dare voice their disagreements though. The past years had been full of rumors of her tenacity and willingness to kill anyone in her way. That coupled with her bold exclamation of distaste for the Goddess left them all speechless.
'Lazy? Says the man who didn't let me train properly all my life. This is just a show,' Aurianna scoffed.
"If they want to be in my shoes they should receive the goddess's blessing instead of me," Aurianna said with a taunting smirk as she looked at the crowd.
"You see how silent they are, the title Saintess is just a death sentence," Aurianna spouted as King Girsal gripped his fist.
A single eye twitched slightly in frustration as he gazed at her, 'How could she know this!? She's just a normal 10-year-old child. No, she's not. I've rather been lying to myself that she was normal. She was never normal since she was five….' King Girsal quietly thought to himself, struggling to put the pieces together of what made her this way.
"Hahaha so funny, whoever told you that is just lying to you. So my child please place your hand on the stone,” King Girsal ignored her words, speaking to her in a coaxing tone as he pointed to a bright pink crystal. It was in the hands of a statue of the Goddess Paige, there was a heart floating around the crystal as well.
Aurianna hesitantly stepped towards the stone, walking a couple feet before reaching it. She gazed at it and then behind. Everyone was looking at her with expectant gazes, gazes filled with greed. She knew that they knew what a Saintess could do for them. Or rather, what it could specifically do for one person, her so-called father, the king. Despite this, she had no reason to refuse, she just wanted to give them a scare and a bit of a hard time.

So, with that minor goal achieved, she placed her hands on the bright pink crystal, it glowed brightly as a result. Aurianna smiled as she witnessed the lady standing before her with a pure smile.
It was the Goddess Paige. She was floating in the air above them all and the first thing Aurianna thought was that she was truly beautiful. Her long pink hair flowing beautifully behind her despite there being no draft or wind to cause this. She had a glazed over look in her eye as she looked down at Aurianna. As she slowly ascended Aurianna felt her heart beating faster and faster. Was this fear? Anticipation of her enemy being so close? Or was it something else entirely…
Once she finally landed, everyone in the hall bowed to the Goddess, even Aurianna.
She thought to herself, ‘Wow. Now that the genuine article is in front of me I can safely say, I am more beautiful than you, Paige.' She flashed a sinister smile as she kept her head low, trying her best to hold back her joy at the realization of that fact.
Paige gleaned around the room, noticing that everyone was showing an acceptable amount of respect.
She smirked, ‘Glad to see these humans are still in line. They won’t get a chance to worship this Saintess above me, not this time at least.’
She turned back to look down at Aurianna. She quickly fixed her expression, making sure her smile looked warm and friendly instead of smug and fiendish. Then, she lifted Aurianna's face, kissing her forehead gently.
As if it were a signal, upon her doing this, all in the ballroom who had their faces lowered raised them, including the King.
[ You have received a subclass Saintess from Goddess Paige ]
Aurianna looked up at the screen with a poker face, before looking at goddess Paige.
"Why did you make me the Saintess?" Aurianna asked as she looked at goddess Paige coldly.
"Because I'm fond of you, and only beautiful people like us are fit enough to save people," Paige said, trying not to choke on her own words.
‘How can this child exude so much pressure? For a second, just with her gaze I felt like I was in the presence of a Goddess or God.'
"I see," Aurianna looked down toward the ground.
"Enclosed reality," Aurianna mumbled as time seemed to stop which alerted Paige.
The King and all in attendance were looking at Aurianna with expectant gazes. However, the thing that was strange was a fly which had been flying so quickly before, appeared to be frozen in place.
Paige, noticing that flies paused movement, looked around in confusion as she thought to herself, 'This technique… Is the god of time here? No... that's not possible he wouldn't leave the god realm so leisurely.’
Right as Paige’s confusion was reaching its peak, her surroundings distorted and the ballroom she found herself in before was no more. She was trapped in a cube-like space now.
[ Enclosed Reality is a spell that traps user and target in a small space as time in the outside world would be frozen. Or more accurately, move so slow that milliseconds would pass every minute or so. ]
"Eva how long can you maintain Enclosed Reality," Aurianna asked Eva through mind communication.
"In my current state, I can only maintain it for 40 minutes. Plus since you're borrowing my power there would be side effects, and not good ones so I’d suggest wrapping this up quickly," Eva responded.
"And what would the side effects be specifically?” She inquired.
"Your power would be reduced by 70% for 3 months," Eva said with a hint of worry in her voice.
"It's still worth it, to beat the hell out of that hateful goddess," Aurianna's eyes beamed as two shotguns appeared in her hand and she also appeared in the Enclosed Reality.
She then shot it towards Paige's head.
*Bam*
Paige felt a strange impact as Paige turned around to see Aurianna holding a strange device before her as she squinted at her. Confusion in her gaze. She had never seen such an item.
Still unsure of what just happened, Paige slowly started turning towards her, "Is she the one doing this….? But how's that possible?!"
"So I couldn't even make her feel some pain huh?" Aurianna grunted in annoyance.
"Well I'm not done yet!" Aurianna yelled as she dashed towards with great speed and jumped into the air.
"Darkness Shot!!" Aurianna directed her shotgun towards Paige as dark bullets shot out of it, directly hitting Paige’s face. However, there was only a slight sizzle coming off her skin.
"Guess with Eva amplifying my power I would be able to do some damage to her," Aurianna bit her lip. She had wanted to draw blood or leave a scratch with that kind of move but she was pleased it at least seemed to burn her.
"You fucking braattt!!" Paige yelled as her whole body was engulfed in a bright pink color, a menacing aura clouding her eyes as she glared at Aurianna.
[ Opponent is too strong, please run away! ]
The system warned as Aurianna coughed up some blood.
As Paige was about to slash Aurianna with her nails, Aurianna's light blue eyes changed into a pair of golden eyes as a much more terrifying pressure surrounded the enclosed space causing Paige to stop her attack.
"How can a child have that much power? No… they're not the same, this Aura is different," Paige mumbled in shock from the pressure. She had been around the god of death numerous times and still, she felt the aura this girl gave off was at least two times worse than his.
Paige looked up to Aurianna who appeared like a teenager now looking at her with cold eyes.
"An insignificant goddess dares to mess with my master, you're not worthy," Eva said as her hand had a dark glow as it was directed towards Paige
"Eva wait," Aurianna yelled before Eva slashed through Paige. Paige collapsed on the ground as she looked up and pursed her lips.
"Humans are always full of surprises," Paige laughed
"What do you mean?" Eva asked as she looked at Paige
"I think it's because I wanted to be loved. I was jealous of the compassion these humans had for each other. Selflessness and kindness. I wanted it all to myself."
Eva looked at Paige confused by this sudden rambling, was her life flashing before her eyes?
