Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Am I Late?

After blasting my balls on the monster's face, the creature was falling. Moreover, I realized that there were citizens below.

Crap!

I moved the balls quickly toward the falling monster, using it as a cushion, preventing it from stopping the evacuation.

“Whoa, you can do that?” Tony said.

“Just in case.”

“You are interesting!” then Tony jumped, following the monster.

“Hey!”

I peeked to see what was going on, and to my surprise. Tony was standing on the balls, and the monster was wrapped by Neon Strings. Despite his appearance, it gave me goosebumps at how badass he was. Not only that but... Why didn't he kill the monster yet?

I scratched the back of my head and shouted “Why aren't you killing it yet?”

“What did you say?” he shouted back, unable to hear me from afar.

“I said, why aren't you kill- you know what.” I jumped off the broken elevator. “CATCH M-”

My sentence was interrupted, also, my jump was ruined. After getting grabbed by a giant hand. It startled me and my body trembled in a short second.

Where did this ogre come from!?

Thus, the ugly ogre dragged me along. Toward Tony and the giant bird. I gritted my teeth, hoping for the citizens if they already evacuated. There, I commanded the balls to block the ogre's eyes. Therefore, its giant hand let go of me and brushed off the levitating balls. In conclusion, this creature made a huge mistake, due to the Red Ball in front of me.

Jackpot!

I flicked my finger, and the ball began to do its routine, bouncing on every other ball. Until it crashed on the monster's left eye violently. It screeched, giving my ears a painful ring.

Argh! I-I need to shoot more!

I prepared my finger again, and another red ball appeared instantly. Yet, a flash of explosion was encountered in front of me, tearing the monster's bodies apart.

“Angela!”

“You alright?” Angela asked, catching up on my fall.

“Yeah, but...” I looked down at the ground, where I noticed Tony and the monster were already inside an inflatable ball. “How do I turn on the inflatable ball?”

Angela slipped her yo-yo inside her pocket. “Pull your necktie,” she stated with a calm tone. Then she pulled her necktie, swallowing her by a giant transparent ball.

I did the same by pulling my necktie and... It worked.

Phew, for a second there, I thought something might bad happen-

“Hey there~”

At that moment, Angela and I gasped a little, taking our attention to the woman in front of us, falling in mid-air with a Radioactive Mark on her shoulder.

My concern was that, why was she holding a Javelin in her hand? Was she a radioactive monster that could imitate a human's face?

“You guys sure are smart,” she stated, grinning mischievously, and added, “But, it's not enough~”

She pierced our hamster-like ball and Angela swung her yoyo toward the unknown enemy, creating a mass explosion close to us. As a result. Three of us flew in a far distance, separating me and Angela.

I continued to fall, but, I already commanded my balls to catch me. While Angela on the other hand aggressively charged her yo-yo on the woman with its long string and the woman summoned another Javelin, deflecting her foe's weapon.

“See ya guys later~” she replied and the yo-yo's explosion activated.

Smokes were in the air, leaving us in confusion till this happened.

My eyes lit up and yelled, “BEHIND YOU!!”

She turned her head back, seeing an ogre smash her down, all the way to the ground at a ridiculous speed.

H-how!? I saw she killed the ogre earlier.

I gritted my teeth and used one of my balls to use it as my floor. For the rest, they surrounded the ugly beast in mid-air.

A certain ball appeared close to me. “You'll pay!” I flicked my finger as hard as I could, overwhelming the foe by the speed of the red ball. Subsequently, I launched another one and another one, reaching five red balls in total, surpassing my limits.

Please hit! I thought and knelt on the balls, wincing in pain.

I panted and slowly glanced at the enemy, and there wasn't a single scratch on the ugly creature. Due to another person who stopped four balls, using his bare hands. But the monster proceeded to fall. However, this guy in front bothered me. He deflected my balls easily and now he was standing properly on my balls.

Another one?!

He was wearing a gas mask, covering half of his face, and he also had a mark on his shoulder. If I were to remove the balls beneath his feet, it'll cause me death. Once I deactivated my ability, the orange ones will completely vanish!

He touched his ear afterward and asked, “Is he the one?”

“###”

Who is he talking to?

“Got it,” he replied, before dashing toward me, stepping his feet on every ball to get his distance close. “Rest in piece.”

A straight punch immediately hit my stomach, and spit a muddle of blood on the orange balls.

I-I feel dizzy...

“Hmm, looks like you're still not worn out.”

“Heh.” I lifted my head with a grin. “You forgot something~”

“Hm-”

A sharp impact hit his jaw, destroying his gas mask. Until he lost his balance. Only to fall out of the balls he was standing.

I gradually stood up and blew some blood out of my nose.

“Ha... Is he g-”

Suddenly, I forgot that my previous opponent was the ugly beast, receiving a straight punch in the cheek.

What! I thought this ugly fell already!?

I flew from afar, and the balls disappeared, hence the ugly beast fell to the ground, restraining it by Tony's ability. Nevertheless, I crashed on a random building, landing on my back on the floor, and found out that the workers already evacuated. I was relieved, although, the pain on my face and stomach freaking hurts! I couldn't breathe properly, not say a proper word. My face was demolished and I bet my teeth were crushed too.

I just joined in and this is what I get already? As expected of being an SH.

I stared at the ceiling, wanting to shut my eyes to rest.

Just... A little na-

“How dare you break my mask!”

The gas mask guy emerged in front of me, shooting his punch at me. Eventually, a flash came by, blowing up the guy into pieces. The building trembled and the floor beneath me began to collapse. In the nick of time, Angela swiftly carried me and broke the glass ahead of us to escape.

Once again, we're falling.

“Sorry for taking too long,” she said.

Her suit was torn into pieces, and bruises were noticeable on her arms and legs.

Just who are those people, they're freaking strong!

That was the first time we encountered an enemy like that. A human, fighting alongside a radioactive monster.

“A-Angel-”

“Hold on!”

“H-huh?”

Below us, a gigantic crocodile opened its large jaw, showing its sharp teeth. Angela frowned and prepared her yo-yo. As for me, I shut my eyes tight, hoping to be saved by her again.

Hm...?

The feeling of falling suddenly stopped. Once I opened my eyes, the crocodile wasn't moving, but the position remained the same. Now, Angela was standing on the crocodile's long nose beside my only idol, Jerome. The boss of the SH facility.

“Am I late?” Jerome asked, with donut crumbs in his mouth.
