As the young girl sat quietly on a wooden bench , the sun setting at her back made the familiar park of her hometown seem like the scenery of some foreign land. She wore wired earbuds that played a somber but beautiful composition of piano and violin that reflected her current mood.
The girl was the thirteen year old, Aries Laraine, a girl who was praised as a prodigy since she six years old for her maturity and her 'blessing' to never forget anything, even if she wished to.
Like the sight of her mother bleeding to death next to her after a fatal car accident or the change that her father went through as a result of it. At one time because of her timid and introverted personality she wanted to become just like him.
He was once a respectable man with an amazing career only to be reduced to a man who sought love from anyone even if it was only the temporary love of a prostitute. It didn't take long for his actions to be exposed and cause him the career in which he had spent his entire life working toward.
Aries' mother, Lynn, was a the pillar that held the weight of their family, the one that held reins of her father. Now that she was gone, Aries had to watch her father whom she once respected so much indulge in liquor and come with a different scent of perfume on him every night. It was then that she knew for sure that her 'blessing' was a curse in disguise that existed to bring her pain and anguish.
She could not forget the past, the way things used to be or the pain of losing it all.
Even the other children around her who once hated her for being 'blessed' than them started acting as though they cared about her suddenly.
They didn't even bother or rather couldn't to hide the mocking gazes. Maybe its because they were still young but they needed to work on their poker faces.
Perhaps if she threw a tantrum like other kids her age, lashing out at everyone shouting and screaming as though the world it self had wronged her, she might have some release. However her logical side would never allow her to act in such a foolish way.
As such, she used music as her release. Aries' parents loved to hear her play her piano and violin but ever since the accident her father could not bear the sound of it. It reminded him of mother so he forbade her from playing. Aries could only listen to the music rather than play.

The slow but powerful notes of the piano seem to represent her silent anger at those who gave her fake concern and pity.
The quiet violin represented her sadness and disgust she buried in her heart at the fact that she secretly enjoyed the 'concern' and care she was given.
"I wish I could just burn the memory away," Aries mumbled to herself.
Aries' wish to forget, a wish that could never be granted to her. Her blessing would never grant her desire, it was just wasted thought.
It was then that she noticed that it was getting harder to keep her eyes open and she simply fell asleep not knowing that her journey to obtain her wish, her true wish had begun.
