Faith is all coming naturally. It doesn't happen when human beings believed in Gods or some spiritual things, it's already come when human beings were still in an infant. Faith already exists from the part of human souls until the end of their lives.

1000 hours, 1 July 0145…

Days have passed and nothing felt different from the last month. It all just the same boring shit, where the Commander or the Director told us to do completing their mission to satisfy them.

However, this time is different. Because I've got a report that Crescent is marching their Infectoid troops into the San Martino's holy city called Grande Maria, near the southern part of Saint Rocano, the capital of San Martino. Because of that, the Cleanser Squadron had to defend that city at any cost.

And it's reported that the Crescent is targeting The Great Pope Enzio Busso. And the reason is to steal all disguise serums to commit further anarchism, without getting detected by the Grande Maria's social system. Although Enzio Busso deserved to be killed from what he's done toward those innocent infected lives, it's such an unfortunate that our duty has to protect him to be regarded as a good Authonoid.

When I glued my mind about the Cleanser Squadron and the Great Pope Enzio Busso, Commander Katoki approached my back while lending me a report.

"Hey, Tsuyuki. Could you please give this report back to Christine?"

My sense coming back to normal after hearing Commander Katoki speaking to me. Furthermore, I replied, while accepting his report.

"Sure Commander,"

"But wait, where she is right now?" I asked him again.

"She's at the church on the 3rd underground floor,"

"Ok,"

Wasting no seconds, I went straight to the elevator and on my way to the church at the 3rd underground floor.

***

I have arrived at the church front door. Before I'm about to entering the church, I knocked the door 3 times and said.

"Excuse me, Christine. It's me, Tsuyuki. Commander Katoki told me to lend back your report. May I come in?"

Unfortunately, there's no response at all, as if this church was empty. After a few seconds of silence, I've heard a falsetto singing voice inside. And that increases my curiosity even more to find out who's singing inside.

"Sorry for interrupting your pray, I'm going in.,"

Wasting no second, I opening the church door and entering the church to meet up with Christine.

***

After I opened the church door and entering it, I saw the inside of this church was slightly darkened, although the sunlight pierces through the artistic ventilation window from above.

When I'm checked out the inside of this church, I saw a short-woman wearing a long white veil, and a long white dress with a gold lining in it. Her white dress skirt is flowing through the floor, where it's pretty worrying if it's stained by some footsteps.

And I saw her kneeling, while singing with a falsetto voice toward the giant statue of their believed "God". I could hear her falsetto singing echoes through this wide church, where it gives me a slight Goosebumps hearing it.

I approached her back slowly and asked.

"Christine? Is that you? What are you doing in there?"

Suddenly, she stopped her singing, stood up, looked back, and asked me in a surprise.

"Ts-Tsuyuki? What are you doing in here?"

Yes, that's obviously Christine! Because I could recognize her talent on singing where she can do a falsetto voice. I approached her while lending her the report.

"Sorry to interrupt your praying, Christine. Commander Katoki told me to giving you back the report that you've submitted yesterday,"

And then, she's accepting the report and replied confusedly.

"Oh… uh… thanks…"

"Don't mention it.,"

It wonders me on what's going on in here. And then I asked her again.

"By the way, Christine. What are you doing in here?"

"Oh… I'm just practicing my singing for my performance in my family church at Grande Maria, my hometown," she answered straightforwardly.

"When?" I asked whilst raising my eyebrows.

"4th July tomorrow,"

"Oh, good luck with that.,"

I nodded in understanding after hearing her explanation. When I'm about to leave this church and leaving her alone to continuing her singing practice, she approached my back, pulled my clothes in a slight, and said to me.

"Umm… Tsuyuki…"

I stopped for a second and looked back in confusion. Without asking any question. And then, she asking me an offer.

"Would you like to watch my practice in here?"

Hearing her offers increasing my curiosity even more about her singing skills. And then I replied quickly.

"Sure, go ahead.,"

Therefore, I sat on the front row chair to see her singing up close. Christine stood up on the stage and preparing herself to do a rehearsal singing. After a few seconds of silence, I saw her took a deep breath before starting her sing. Afterwards, she started her sing.

Her falsetto singing voice echoed through this slightly darkened church. It was beautiful, yet unsettling at the same time. Because, by judging the lyrics, I assume she's singing about the absolution of the apocalypse.

And during the final riff's part she's letting out her voice where her falsetto almost reaching her limits.

And finally, the singing was over. She looked down while catching a breath after her long and high-pitched falsetto voice.

It amazed me after witnessing her singing performance. From how talented she is. And then, I clapped my hand in amazement while praising her singing skill.

"Oh wow! I was speechless!"

Christine looked down while blushed a bit. And then she replied while giggling in embarrassment.

"T-thank you... hehe…" she said with an embarrassed smile.

"By the way, Christine. You look different from usual in that dress," I added with a smile.

"Umm… not really. Because I have to restrain all my eighth-grade syndrome to abiding the church etiquette," she replied as she sat beside me to take a break.

Looking at her sitting beside me makes me slightly blushed, from how beautiful she is on her dress. As if Christine was a bride that's about to marry me. And then I said to her.

"If I got to be honest. You look's gorgeous in that dress,"

Christine blushed even more after I gave her another praise. And then she continued to stutter.

"Well… uh… thank you again…"

When I'm glancing at her, I saw her left finger still wearing the same green ring that I've ever talked about, previously.

"Wait, are you still wearing that same ring like previously?" I asked her.

"Oh, this one?" She answered while showing me her left hand with her green ring attached to her ring finger.

"Yeah. We've ever talked about this ring back in the Harimal Forest. Remember that?" I asked her again.

"Of course. What are you talking about?"

"Judging by your dress and the green ring you're wearing on, you must have a fiancée, right? Yet, you're denying the answers, last day.,"

She looked down for a second as her mind comes in a circle. Afterwards, she looked at me and answered in a downed tone.

"Yes… I have a fiancée, Tsuyuki.,"

Bingo!

Because there's a higher chance a woman has a fiancée if she had a ring attached to her left ring finger.

I nodded while raising my eyebrows in understanding. And then I asked again.

"Can you tell me who's that person is?"

"It's Antonio. The 2nd Commander of the Cleanser Squadron. The reason he wanted to propose to me is that he's my childhood friends, and my parents have a deep bond with his parents.,"

"Here's the picture of him.,"

She drew her smartphone and showing me the pictures of Antonio. And it showed that he's a stern man with a high military rank. With a serious face, sharp eyebrows, and a sharp beard on his chin.

I assume he's older than Christine. And probably older than me. Afterwards, she continued.

"And because of that, his parents wanted him to engage with me. Because they wanted to use my Divinocchi power, and Antonio has a crush with me.,"

"Oh… I see," I said to her as I nodded in understanding.

"Not just the member of the Cleanser Squadron, he's also the Colonel from the San Martonian National Forces. And he's ever involved in Kondaarian conflicts 3 years ago," she continued.

However, it gave me a bizarre feeling that she's forced to engage with him to fulfill Cleanser Squadron's agendas. So I asked her again.

"Be honest. Do you have any problem with it? Are you willingly sold your life to him to fulfill that squadron agenda?"

"I have a problem with it. It just… I'm afraid that I'm ended up in a massive trouble, if I dare to criticize them," she answered while looked down on her skirt.

And then she confessed her pent-up burdens.

"I wanted to stand up, but what do I expect from a cult that carries that much power?"

"Even if I am stand up against it, I will end up dragging myself into their pitfall traps,"

"Well, if you no longer stand up, you're no longer able to live longer than that," I said to her, straightforwardly.

She looked at me and replied.

"It's not like that, Tsuyuki. Because I have a faith. A good faith that they will understand. The world is never always revolving around them.,"

"Although I had a deep hatred with Pope Enzio from his exploitation of my mother's death. I still respect him. That he's carried my mother's achievement to get Cleanser Squadron into a success.,"

"And although Antonio wanted to exploit myself any further to fulfill that squadron's agenda. I still respect him for taking care of me, since I was a child.,"

"I know. I sounded naïve. But it's natural for me to build up a good faith whenever I'm in these situations.,"

"Because just like Lisabelle ever said to you. Humans are getting weaker not because they're lack of power and intelligence, it's because they're lack of gratitude.,"

I nodded again as an agreement.

"Even though you're about to get married to an unintended lover, I hope you're happy with it," I said to her.

"Or maybe in the latter time, you'll find a genuine lover.," I continued

"Hehe… thanks…" she replied whilst blushed a little.

After a few seconds of silence, someone opened the church door and said to us.

"Hey, Tsuyuki, Christine. Are you there?"

When I looked back, I saw Axel opened the door. Whilst standing outside the church.

"Oh, Axel? What's wrong?" I asked.

"Commander Katoki told all of us to gather at his office," He answered.

"For what?" I asked again.

"It's important, come at his office right now,"

"Alright, I'll be waiting.,"

Afterwards, both of us stood up from the chair and were about to leaving the church. However, Christine said to me.

"I want to change my clothes, Tsuyuki. You go ahead first.,"

"Alrighty.,"

Without further ado, I left the church to go to the office first. Whilst Christine is changing her clothes and catching up with me in the office.
