1035 hours, 2 July 0145…

We're in front of The Great Pope Enzio Busso office door. Before that, Antonio knocked on the door and asked.

"Excuse me, your Holiness. The Minerva squadrons have arrived.,"

Afterwards, we're entering his office whilst bowing our heads in a slight as a sign of respect to the old Pope.

Inside his office, everything looks luxury yet formal. Hence, I saw tons of book stored on the bookshelves in each wall. I also saw a large ominous-looking painting displayed on the right side of the wall. And by judging that painting, I assume is an accurate depiction of Angel. It's beautiful, yet terrifying at the same time.

"Good afternoon, your Holiness," we said to him as we nodded with a respect.

"Good afternoon, please sit down," He replied as he offered us to sit on the couch.

After all of us were sitting down, waiting for The Pope to responding. He looked at us with a concern and asked Antonio.

"So, what affairs do these Minerva Authonoids needed?"

"Apparently, they wanted to provide your holiness a protection for your electioneering from the invading Crescent terrorist," Antonio answered whilst approaching Pope Enzio.

Afterwards, Commander Katoki sat in front of Pope Enzio's desk and said with a respect.

"Your Holiness, I'm Commander Jefferson Katoki. The commander of the Black Vulture squadron. Apparently, Tsuyuki, the leader of my squadron proposing this mission to prevent the further casualties that Onigashi and Crescent will cause in 3 days later,"

"We do not know whether Onigashi's already made a move toward this city. But the point is, action are completely necessary for protecting the future of this city, and to preventing any unwanted consequences," He continued as he lending The Pope his reports about the mission.

Furthermore, I sat beside Commander Katoki and explaining the mission.

"Your Holiness, my name is Tsuyuki, the leader of the Black Vulture squadron. The reason we wanted to provide your Holiness protection is to alleviate your election day.,"

"Considering there are tons of threat that are overshadowing in every electioneering. Such as assassination threats, for examples,"

And then, I pulling out the tablet from my bag and showing The Pope Enzio some Satcom pictures.

"According to the Kalina Satcom, her troops have stationed their weaponries to open fire directly to this city when the right time has come. Consists of mortars, rockets, Molotov, etc. And one thing you should know is they're infected with their weaponries with Scorching Virus.,"

Afterwards, I swiping the screen to showing him the pictures of Crescent's Infectoid Troops, their weaponries, and their incursion tactics. And The Pope Enzio nodded as a reply.

"Also, they had a plan to steal the large amount of Disguise Serum that is stored beneath Saint Capriccio Great Church.,"

"Besides, we wanted to help your troops to find alternatives from the Frantilos crisis, without using Christine as a fodder from her Divinocchi.,"

"Apparently, Christine's Divinocchi contains hefty amounts of Frantilos that can bring doom upon everyone whenever she's broken down her seal.,"

"Thenceforth, using her as a fodder via engagement would be a massive boomerang for your squadron. Considering how unstable her power and her psychology are, I would fear,"

Hearing the word Christine made Antonio glanced at me sharply. Maybe because he was jealous that I'm close to her. Despite that, I continued my explanation.

"And maybe we can negotiate about Antonio's engagement with her, to put all shadows on lights,"

"So to put it simply, we will provide you with these help with no compensation, nor over-complying the policy of your squadron by forcing us to join,"

"I'd hope you'll understand that, your holiness,"

The Pope Enzio nodding in understanding as a reply. Me and Commander Katoki lending him the reports of the mission, and the tablet. So he can understand the full context before that.

After 5 minutes of waiting The Pope Enzio finished on reading our reports and the tablets about the mission we're about to work together with. He's straightening his sitting position, crossing his arms, and make an explanation.

"I'm gladly to accepting your offer, Mr. Katoki and Tsuyuki,"

"Unfortunately, with an utmost respect, we have to decline it. Because we have such a name to uphold.,"

"That doesn't mean we're denying your request. The reason for that is to protecting our honor as a squadron who's responsible for cleansing all stains in this city,"

"We do not want any stranger came to us offering a help that's ended up luring us onto their trap,"

"And speaking of Frantilos crisis, just because we're almost running out of this element, that doesn't mean we're entirely suffering from it.,"

"To put it simply, look at our technology that's roaming through the Basecamp. And does it look like we need any help?"

"My apologies for the minor interruption, Your Holiness. Just because Your Holiness has cutting-edge technologies, that doesn't mean the enemies are that stupid.,"

"Because the enemy that Your Holiness and your squadron will fight against is smarter than Your Holiness would expect.,"

"For example, we will lend a help toward someone who's cannot stand up in the crucial situation. But if we found someone could stand up instantaneously in the same crucial situation, why would we bother to give them a help?"

And in a sudden, I have a minor debate with The Pope Enzio.

"Isn't that a bit contradicting with the oath that Your Holiness has to obey in the first place? Because it's your Holiness duty as The Great Pope to enlighten all darkness on any occasion,"

Suddenly, Commander Katoki snapped my left arms to prevent me from saying disrespectful words toward The Pope Enzio. And then Antonio retorted to me in a slight.

"Mind your words, Minerva Authonoid!"

However, The Pope Enzio raising his right hand to calming down the situation. Afterwards, he continued.

"You did the right things, and I highly respect that. And like I've mentioned previously. We could manage these problems with no help from other sides. Because we're such an independent squadron that could manage everything by ourselves.,"

"Even God always commemorating everyone to take care of their selves first, before taking care the rest,"

"And I would express my gratitude for bringing Christine to me. Since she's always disobeying our orders and fallen into the dark path,"

In a sudden, Christine asserted slightly loud.

"I refuse.,"

And that causing everyone inside this office startled after hearing Christine assert.

"Christine? What are you talking about?" Axel asked as he patter her shoulder.

"I've… had enough… with this," she continued bitterly, as I saw her looked down with a bitter face and clenched her hands toward her knees.

"Christine, don't you forget that you're talking to the most respected person?" Kyoko reprimanded her in a slight.

But that won't stop Christine from throwing her fury whenever she's had enough of getting stomped countless times.

"I DON'T FREAKING CARE!!!" she retorted as she's stood up from the couch.

And that startled all of us, after she's spouting her retort.

"Christine! Please, watch your tone!" Lisabelle reprimanded her in a slight.

But that also won't stop her from continuing her retort.

"I'D RATHER DIE INSTEAD OF KNEELING FOR YOUR FOOLISH ORDERS OF NOTHING!!!" she retorted as she's about to burst tears from her eyes.

"Because I'm a human. Not a fodder, after all!" She continued as she's looked down while clenched her eyes to holding her tears.

Furthermore, she quitting the office with the bitterness on her face. However, Antonio tried to approach her and reprimanded her.

"Christine?! Christine!" Antonio retorted at her after she's leaving the office and closing the door harshly.

But when Antonio's about to leave the office to follow her lead, Commander Marisa approached him and made a minor negotiation.

"My apologies, Your Holiness, and Antonio. Let me handle her.,"

Afterwards, Antonio conceded and let Commander Marisa left the office to take care saddened Christine.

Just like I've thought on previously. Cleanser squadron wanted to use Christine's Divinnochi as Frantilos fodder via Antonio's engagement. However, I do not know whether Antonio wanted to engage with her just because he had a crush on her since their childhood, or because of this psychopathic squadron agenda.

Not just that, I've ever heard that Christine is suffering from a psychological issue. Although she's acting like a normal person in the normal times, she will throw her tantrum whenever something pressurized her to the limit.

Just like what Florent ever mentioned to me previously. Whenever the evils are cease to exist, one shall make other evil. Because evil isn't born, they're made.

Despite this strange situation after Christine left the office disgruntled, The Pope Enzio stood up and said to all of us.

"Unfortunately, I have to attend an important meeting with the governor of Grande Maria for the electioneering discussion. And we can discuss this mission any further whenever I have no such busy times.,"

"Thank you, Your Holiness," I replied to him as I bowing in a slight.

Afterwards, everyone left the office and on the way to some place to take a minor break after an exhaustive negotiation with The Great Pope.

I do not know whether The Pope Enzio agrees or disagrees with our negotiation. Because negotiation will never end instantly, where both sides have to think twice before agreeing or disagreeing with the proposal that each side made.

But little did he know, I wanted to lure him onto my trap to assassinate him, in an unusual occasion. From how much corruption he's ever done to this city, and the rest who's ever experiencing his corrupt practices.

When I'm about to stoop outside the office, Antonio patted my right shoulder slightly harshly and said.

"What did you do to her in there?!" He asked in a slight furiousness on his face.

What does he mean, is her time at Minerva. Unfortunately, he's slightly misunderstood that Minerva treated her better than this psychotic squadron ever done.

Therefore, I glared at him and replied.

"It's never been the part of my problem, Antonio. Why won't you look at your mirror instead?"

Afterwards, I left the office and following my friend's lead.

"You… filthy infidel Minerva Authonoid scum!" he spouted his anger silently.

Yeah, a filthy infidel for protecting the one who's hated by this psychotic squadron. And funny how so many people in this world yelling about "The danger of sins" committed large atrocities from what they swore to destroy.

Human hypocrisy never ends, because greed is the part of humanity in foremost.
