The Senior Adventurers help me, so I’ll surely be fine! The Diary of a Novice Adventurer

BOOK 1: Red Lizard Diary
Day 1: From today, I’m finally an Adventurer
Holy Era 6102, Month of the Moon Rabbit, 14th day.
Weather: Sunny
Freedom!! I am free!! I have finally escaped!!
And from today, I am finally an Adventurer!!
And so to commemorate this occasion, I have decided to keep a diary.
Hehehe. One of these days, I’ll become a great Adventurer, and this diary will be published as a memoir, and I will earn so much in royalties!
Huh!? This part will be cut out! Removed in editing!!(This is very important: Do not forget!!!!)
My diary is made from the skin of a red lizard, and is very luxurious♪ It even has a cute key, so my privacy is ensured. (But the price was not cute!!)
On my first day, I went to the Adventurers Guild, registered, and accepted a simple quest.
First, the registration…they actually have a fee for that. I did not know. And it was one silver coin.
I had pilfered five silvers when leaving the house, and now they have all departed from me. To think that 10 day’s worth of living expenses can turn into a flimsy wooden card. It made me feel rather conflicted.
My guild card starts at rank F. The highest rank is the S rank!! As for me, my goal is to reach rank B. It is not good to hope for too much.
Huh? But would there be any demand to buy the memoir of a B rank Adventurer?? …Ye-yes, indeed. I suppose that I better strive to reach A rank then. One must be ambitious!!
Ah, if I don’t reach rank E by next month, they will cancel my registration and I will have to pay the fee again and start at F rank. And so I must rise no matter what!! I cannot allow that precious silver to waste its life. …I will be able to rise, won’t I? I am worried.
And so the quest that I accepted in order to raise my rank and acquire living expenses, was the classic, gathering of medicinal herbs.
That did make me wonder. Why doesn’t everyone just go and gather them on their own? After all, it’s such an easy beginner quest that even someone like me is allowed to accept them.
Like that muscular man who runs the pharmacy and picks up the hemp sacks filled with herbs as if they weighed nothing. He could gather them without ever being in danger. Really, why didn’t they? It was a mystery.
Ah, more importantly, the herb gathering. My target this time was the Momija plant, which was a red plant that looked like the palm of your hand. There was a demand for it all year long.
As they grow in clusters along the river, you could find them easily as long as you knew where the river was. My goal was to gather about 2 kilos. That was two sacks worth. It was a decent amount. Thankfully, that was not the amount when dried.
I worked from midday to evening, and managed to finish gathering them all. It sure was a lot, even before drying…
I reported to the guild and was given 5 bronze coins… Uh, after all my hard labor, this is what I get… I needed five more to cover the minimum food expenses for a day… So that meant I had to do this twice a day…how cruel…
And because it was cruel, I decided that today, I would stay at an inn that was known for its delicious food.
50 bronze coins disappeared. I-I’ll be fine… Because I have a job tomorrow that pays well!
Today’s earnings and expenses:
Silver: -2(Registration, Diary)
Bronze: +5(Quest reward)
-50(Inn)
—————————
Balance: 2 silver, 55 bronze
(´・ω・`)I have nothing but worries on my first day. My balance won’t allow me to live for even 1 month…(cries)
