Day 10: Another Day Of Gathering Herbs In The Rain
Holy Era 6102, Month of the Moon Rabbit, 23rd day.
Weather: Rain
Hmph. It’s raining today. The weather hasn’t been stable for the past few days…
And it will only start raining more in a month’s time.
However, perhaps this rain is a better situation than I could have hoped for.
I went to the guild, and predictably, the Adventurers were at the bar. However, there seemed to be fewer of them this time? It was a little unexpected, but that’s fine.
If more people rested, then more good quests would be left. Hurray for rain!!
Now, I had planned to hunt goblins and slimes, but…there were no quests for that. Huh? But those quests were almost always available?
When I asked the lady at the reception desk, she laughed with exasperation and then explained it to me.
Neither were monsters that needed to be hunted all year long. To be more precise, the quests depended on things like breeding season and periods where they were especially ferocious.
While there were exceptions, the current season was not one of them.
And so I had no choice but to gather herbs. However, things would be different today.
Because I borrowed a wagon!! Hehehe. I knew who would be there if I gathered herbs during a rainy day…
Yes, the slimy and disgusting King Nameku!!
Though, I didn’t like the idea of fighting it and soiling my new equipment so soon…but I needed the money, so it could not be helped!!
With this resolve, I pulled the wagon and headed for the place where the momija grass grew in clusters.
Due to the rain, the wagon was heavy even though it was empty… I felt depressed just thinking about the return trip.
Perhaps I should seriously think about hiring a porter. I wonder how much they cost for one day?
Once I arrived at my destination, there were King Namekus eating momija grass, just like I had predicted.
There were only two of them. I thought there would be more… I suppose I’ll have to go somewhere else after this.
I had more than a few reasons to sigh as I charged into them.
Well, ultimately, it was a lot easier than it was the last time. After all, my sword was much sharper now.
And even though their fluids made the blade slippery, I was able to cut through them with ease.
The quality of your equipment really was important…I felt that very strongly now.
After that, I went around to several other areas and was able to hunt six King Namekus in all.
As I had predicted while going, the wagon was very heavy on the return trip. I almost cried as my feet and the wheels sank in the mud…
Due to returning while covered in mud, the lady at the guild was terribly surprised. And then she saw what was loaded onto the wagon and her eyes widened.
Some of the Adventurers were even whistling.
Who was that!? Someone just called me by the dishonorable name of Nameku Hunter!?
In any case, now I won’t have to worry about money for some time.
And so I will stay at that inn again and eat delicious food…and start saving my money tomorrow.
Today’s earnings and expenses:
