Dowook looked at the formulas he didn’t know the name of and numbers written on the paper.

Although he hadn’t figured out everything about the ‘special sense,’ he was sure of this one thing.

The other person’s unique sense was naturally reproduced as if it were his own. Professor Choi’s surgery skill and the boy’s skateboarding skill were the same.

However, unlike the previous two senses, the reasoning behind Lim So Yool’s sense that could perform such things on paper was something he had no idea how to explain.

Having acted as if she would have left right the moment, Lim So Yool suddenly became quiet and looked at Dowook.

“Is there any proof?”

There was. Right in this hand.

Dowook squeezed in between the professors and went into the room to pass the paper to her.

“First, please look at this.”

While she was looking at the content of the paper, the vice dean asked in a low voice.

“What did you just say a while ago?”

“I calculated the standard deviation. There were 22 cases similar to Director Lim’s where a slight shock, cough, sneeze worsened the patient’s condition. It accounts for 37.5% of the total sample.”

Dowook merely explained what he understood from the many numbers. Recalling the blurry memories of high school, he tortured his brain cells to understand even that much.

After quickly checking things over, Lim So Yool turned her head. Everyone held their breath while waiting for her answer.

“It’s a neat Bartlett variance. Thank you for showing it to me.”

‘Bart …..what?’

Dowook hid his fluster and nodded his head. What did it matter as long as she understood? Since he’d already borrowed her senses, he mentioned one more thing he understood from what he wrote on the paper.

“The vice dean's words were also not wrong. Director Lim’s cyst itself is a rare congenital lesion and none of them recur like this. If we are talking about a sample group with similar nerve tumors, your chance of seizures will drop to 1%.”

“It’s 1.13%”

“Ah, 1.13%”

He’d felt it at the hotel as well, but rounding up numbers did not work with this woman.

Unable to follow the conversation, the vice-dean stealthily took a step back. Then he sent Dowook a sign to keep going with his eyes.

Under the eyes of the uncomfortable professors in charge of the VIP ward, Dowook expressed the conclusion he came up with thanks to the numbers.

“The decision to stay with the medical staff until Director Lim’s condition has a recurrence rate of 1.13% or to proceed with a fatality of 37.5%. That is the choice the current Myeong Sae Hospital can give you.”

The eyes that glistened with frost turned to Dowook. In those eyes, the disappointment from before could no longer be seen.

“I understand. Secretary Ok, postpone looking for a hospital to perform the surgery. I apologize to the other professors for the confusion. I’m sorry.”

The vice-dean sighed in relief and patted Dowook in the back for the good work. Meanwhile, Lim So Yool pointed out the piece of paper.

“You didn’t try to find out the chance of success of trying the surgery with Bartlett's. Is the probability of success so low?”

There was no doctor in the room who knew what Bartlett was. That was why everyone’s sight turned to Dowook.

‘Damn it.’

Dowook sighed quietly.

“That is……”

He tried to make use of her number ability one more time.

A tickling sensation like it was something he might know flinched all over his nerves.

‘Ah.’

Fortunately, he understood one thing.

“Reliability. The amount of damage to the brain tissue after surgery, how many aftereffects the surgery would have. These are not something that can be shown with numbers since it is all up to the neurosurgeon’s skills. So I couldn't verify it.”

“If the neurosurgeon’s performance deviation is the number one factor in verification, then the most skilled doctor should perform the surgery to reduce the aftereffects.”

Although he succeeded in answering, her reaction weighed on his mind. Dowook asked with a serious expression.

“You are not considering the doctor’s recommendation to watch how things go?”

“If there is even a 1.13% chance of recurrence, then yes. I cannot consider it.”

Dowook was not sure of the correct answer as he had never been in the position of a patient who had to live with a congenital condition.

Lim So Yool, who was looking at the doctors with a more satisfied look than at the beginning, suddenly spoke as if she just remembered.

“While I was searching for articles yesterday, I found some mention that Myeong Sae Hospital has the best neurosurgeon in the country.”

The vice-dean answered this right away.

“If you are talking about Prof. Choi, you are correct.”

“Then please see if I can have my surgery performed by him. Then we will talk again.”

Leaving the VIP room, the vice president clicked his tongue.

“Chief Ha. Did you have to speak so coldly from the start? You could have said it a bit more gently.”

“It’s the truth so what can we do about it? If we talk about the size, it isn’t dangerous. Recommending surgery to a patient who doesn’t need it simply puts them in more danger.”

The vice dean entered the elevator first. Other than Chief Ha, the professors who followed all kept their heads bowed.

“Schedule it as soon as you can.”

The doors closed.

Sighing, Chief Ha turned to look at a professor from the brain tumor center.

“What do you think about this, Prof. Kim?”

“I also think surgery would cause more damage, but the patient’s opinion is also important. Having surgery wouldn’t cause a huge amount of damage either.”

“If performing brain surgery isn’t a huge deal, what is?”

“I’m just saying.”

“You’re just trying to find a way out of this. What about you, Prof. Lee?”

The head of the oncology department, Lee Kang San turned to look at the VIP room and answered.

“The patient says she finds it more comforting. We should listen to her. And someone like Choi Hoo can do it with barely any damage as well.”

“You guys probably don’t know. But Choi Hoo doesn’t perform surgery unless the patient is in a life or death situation!”

“Even when Chief Ha tells him to?”

“No matter who tells him to!”

The vice-dean wanted to keep the VIP patient, however, if they couldn’t perform the surgery, the patient would leave.

Ruffling his hair at the ironic situation, Chief Ha saw his dozing student, Park Dowook, standing far away. First, he should finish the things he could do.

“Dowook, you did good today. Hurry and go home.”

“Hoooo…Chief. I’m about to pass out….”

“Before you go, ask Prof. Choi if he can perform Lim So Yool’s surgery.”

“Ok. After that I can….”

Dowook, who’d been blinking his sleepily, suddenly opened his eyes wide.

“I have to ask?”

“Then who should ask? Choi Hoo’s surgery schedule, you who will now be his assistant should take care of it.”

Hearing that Dowook was Choi Hoo’s assistant, the professors simultaneously moved.
