"We're here.", Assistant Ahn announced as they approached the entrance of the West Valley Columbarium; they all went together in a van.
When they got off the vehicle and entered the building, Hannah volunteered, "I'll go and check with the management to know where Mia is placed."
"I'll go with you, Han.", said Samantha.
Heading towards the office, Hannah and Samantha walked in silence. Samantha had a different feeling this time, a part of her is somehow at peace but there was also something that is kind of giving her a bad vibe; in which she doesn't know why or what it was.
They were almost at the office when a figure of a woman whom they haven't seen for a long time appeared a few meters away from them.
Samantha and Hannah stopped in their tracks, and so did the other woman. They looked at each other as if they were studying each other's faces. The woman was wearing all black while Samantha and Hannah were wearing white. Neither of them spoke as they just stood there, unmoved and with emotionless faces.
"Well look who we have here... Nancy.", Hannah was the first one who spoke.
Nancy took off her sunglasses and glanced at Hannah before she looked straight to Samantha. "Yes?"
"What are you doing here?"
"Why do I have to report it to you?", she snarked.
This was the first time that they have faced each other after 13 years and their meeting was already tensed right off the bat.
"You sure got the nerve to come here.", Hannah couldn't control herself.
"Why, Chu? Do you own this place? Am I not allowed to come here?", she raised a brow to Hannah.
Hannah was about to respond but Samantha stopped her, "Don't."
Nancy sideglanced Samantha, "Always the scaredy cat.", she muttered before she started to walk past them.
At first, Samantha didn't want to give her any attention as she was there to visit Mia. However, there was something burning inside of her that she couldn't get rid off. It was as if she was being pushed to do something she doesn't really do.
This time, Samantha was the one who answered, "I may be a scaredy cat but at least I don't sleep my way to the top."
Nancy Jung stopped and glared, "What did you say?"
Samantha just shrugged and Nancy insisted, "Say that again."
"I'm sorry, did I offend you?", Samantha said with a smile.
Nancy scoffed 'This bitch is trying to piss me off.', she thought. "Offend me? How could you offend someone like me? I'm no longer the same Nancy back then who's always been just second to you."
"You're right. You're famous now.", Samantha tilted her head.
"That's right. And you can't stop me! You'll no longer be above me."
"Being on top of you is something I don't do, Nancy Jung. I don't swing that way. Maybe you can try that with one of your agency's executives. Who knows? You might star internationally if you do that this time, just like how you scored your previous movie."
Nancy Jung's face contorted. She couldn't believe that Samantha was talking to her like this. Back then when they were young, Samantha was always the quiet one even when she was being talked behind her back. She just ignored all of those who weren't nice to her and this made Nancy think that she's scared to defend herself. "Samantha Kim, I didn't know you were capable. You actually managed to piss me off with your insults."
"Oh I wasn't insulting you… I was just reminding you of the truth, so no need to be angry.", Samantha said nonchalantly as if it was something natural to say.
"You-!", Nancy was cut off by the sound of the ring from her phone. Her chest heaved up and down then she angrily answered the call. "What!", she spoke with a dark expression.
She didn't speak for a few seconds like she was listening to the other person's message. The call ended and Nancy faced the two women again. Nancy looked at Samantha in the eye, "It's nice to see you again, Samantha.", she spoke before turning around to leave.
She passed by Seo Joon and Daniel near the entrance but didn't really see the two men.
Seo Joon, however, noticed Nancy and his brow scrunched up, "Bro, we need to go.", he spoke before rushing towards where Samantha and Hannah were heading; Daniel was confused but he followed him anyway.
"Dopey, I saw-"
"I know.", Samantha cut in.
Samantha looked calm and doesn't look tensed. But judging by Seo Joon and Hannah's reactions, Daniel wasn't sure what happened, "Who?", he probed.
"It was Nancy. Nancy Jung.", Hannah answered.
Samantha couldn't be bothered by it anymore so she turned and walked towards the office to do what they needed to do in the first place.
When the staff was able to find Mia's, he led them towards the floor and showed the room.
Looking at so many glass storages, the atmosphere suddenly became gloomy. But there was something else in that room that awaited them, a piece of news that they didn't hear about.
"Here it is.", said the keeper as he pointed to Mia Chang's storage. He inserted a key to the lock and a click was heard. When it opened, Samantha pulled out a pen drive which contained the videos that she edited and placed it inside along with a wallet-sized picture of her and Hannah.
While she was busy, Hannah noticed the storage next to Mia's and her eyes widened. "S... look..."
In a metal plate, it said the name of Mia's mother and the date of when she died which was about a little over a month after Mia's death.
