"Andrew, you're hurting me!" Samantha winced and shook her arm away from Andrew's tight grip.
Andrew calmed down a little but was still being arrogant. "Why are you avoiding me? Why did you say we're over?"
"What do you mean 'why'? First, obviously, you're a womanizer. And second, you forced me to sleep with you! Haven't you done enough already?"
"They're nothing to me. And C'mon! We're together, it's normal for me to sleep with you."
"There's no point talking sense into someone like you. Goodbye, Andrew!" She said as she turned to walk away but again, Andrew didn't let her go.
He grabbed her wrist and forcefully pulled her towards him — she was pressed against his body. But this didn't last for more than a few seconds as warm hands pulled Samantha away from her ex and into his arms.
Samantha was startled when she was suddenly pressed against a man's firm chest. But she quickly realized how familiar the man's scent was that she quickly looked up and met Daniel's calm yet worried gaze.
"Daniel…" she whispered.
"I'm home."
As soon as he said those words, she sighed and relaxed. He turned to Andrew and spoke in a cold tone, "You can't lay a finger on her anymore. I suggest you leave while I'm still being nice."
"Who the hell are you?" Andrew hissed as he looked at Daniel aggressively.
Daniel didn't mind him, instead, he looked at Samantha again and brushed his fingers on her hair. "Are you all right?"
With a very gentle smile, she nodded and answered, "I'm okay now."
"Hey, I'm talking to you! How dare you ignore me?" Andrew roared at the pair in front of him.
"Are you still here?" said Daniel lazily. He couldn't be bothered with Andrew.
"What the hell? Who do you think you are? Don't you know who I am?" Andrew yelled and then turned to Samantha, "Who is this prick, Samantha? Are you screwing with him, huh? Is that why you don't want to have sex with me? Because you're screwing him?" Andrew was so pissed, he didn't mind spouting words in public.
Samantha furrowed her eyebrows. 'What is this jerk spewing about in public? It's so embarrassing!' She opened her mouth to talk but Daniel spoke before she could do so.
"I was going to ignore you because I don't really have time for insignificant people but you don't seem to understand that we want you out of our faces. So I'm going to answer you, Yes, she makes love to me. In fact, we do it like bunnies. (1) She's so satisfied, it's mind-blowing for her that she keeps calling my name over.. and over.. again. Are you pleased with my answer?" Daniel spoke slowly and in a low voice, he was obviously gloating.
Samantha's eyes opened wide and her jaw dropped from Daniel's shameless answer. 'WHAT? WHAT??? WHEN DID WE DO IT LIKE BUNNIES?' her chest heaved up and down from the sudden declaration. 'How come I wasn't aware of this? Why wasn't I informed about this? Was I asleep while we did it?' Samantha couldn't believe Daniel's boldness, her cheeks were so red from embarrassment.
Meanwhile, Andrew was perplexed by Daniel's divulgence. He was speechless by what he just heard. He couldn't get Samantha — and yet this man did?
Andrew didn't have time to react as Daniel had already pulled Samantha away and they walked towards Daniel's car. That's when Andrew realized that the man with her was the same man who took her away that night on her birthday. His vicious glare followed them as the couple sped away.
...
Samantha stared at Daniel the entire time in the car. She still didn't know what to say to him after what he said earlier.
"You're staring at me. Do you miss me that much?" Daniel smiled smugly.
Samantha looked away. "What you said... how shameless."
Daniel laughed at her reaction. "What? I got him to shut up, right?"
"Yeah."
Samantha was quiet for a minute before she spoke again, "He–Andrew was an ex."
Daniel glanced at her and didn't say anything so she spoke again, "I ended things with him because he forced me to sleep with him."
"It's okay, Samantha... You don't have to explain that." Daniel looked at her briefly and smiled, "I'm happy to see you again."
Samantha returned the smile and admitted, "Me, too."
He reached a hand and held hers, while his other hand remained on the wheel.
She was surprised by the sudden contact that she had butterflies in her stomach. She looked at her hand as Daniel lovingly stroked his thumb on it. "You're driving... you should concentrate."
Daniel smirked, "I'm capable with my hands."
This Daniel Cho really knows how to play with words.
…
Daniel drove towards Cho Corporation and as they were nearing, Samantha realized something. "Oh right, what about my car? I left it there."
"I'll have someone bring it to the company later. I want to spend time with you," he said, making Samantha blush like a schoolgirl.
"Okay… Oh, I don't have my sunnies and facemask."
Daniel didn't answer Samantha and continued to drive. Soon, they parked the car in front of the company. Daniel reached for something at the backseat, got a thin grey scarf and handed it to her. "Here."
"But I'm not cold." She stared at him.
Daniel sighed and stepped out of the car. He walked around, opened her door and bent down until he was face to face with her — he was unnecessarily very close.
He looped the scarf around her neck twice and secured it in place. Then, he raised the scarf to her ears so that it will cover half of Samantha's face – covering her ears, nose, and mouth. Seeing that she had her hair fixed up in a ponytail, Daniel pulled out her hair tie and let her hair loose.
"There, now only I am allowed to see how beautiful you are." He leaned forward like he was about to kiss Samantha, and she locked her gaze with him. But to her dismay, Daniel kissed her forehead and he chuckled.
Daniel Cho sure knows how to make Samantha feel bothered. Was she looking forward to kissing Daniel?
The couple strode towards the entrance of the building, they walked side by side as the people around them whispered gossips to each other.
"There's that woman again."
"Do you know who she is?"
"Is she the President's girlfriend?"
"I wonder if her face looks ugly. Why does she need to cover up?"
"You're too evil. Can't she be a celebrity?"
Samantha just ignored the gossip around her but Daniel stopped. He scanned the room and with an icy tone, he sad, "Am I paying all of you just to gossip? You must have a lot of free time, huh? I don't mind giving you all overtime work."
As soon as they heard this, they all dispersed and went back to work.
How dare they talk crap about Samantha?
Daniel led her towards the private elevator and soon after, they reached the top floor.
"You're such a tyrant." She chuckled while he grinned.
When they stepped out of the elevator, they found Liam Cho standing outside Daniel's office with Director Leah Tan.
"President Cho, you're here. Can I speak with you?" Leah asked, as her gaze shifted from Samantha to Daniel.
"What is it about?"
Leah was wearing bright red lipstick, making her look really bold. She pulled the corners of her mouth into a flirtatious smile then walked towards Daniel and stood beside him. She was moving her fingers over the document and acted coyly. She was about to touch Daniel's arm and made it seem casual but it was pretty obvious what she was doing.
Daniel instantly avoided being touched by her. She disregarded it as she continued to talk about some work stuff. As if she had just noticed, she turned towards Samantha, "Oh, is this a FRIEND, President Cho?" she asked, emphasizing the word 'friend'.
Why is this witch being stupid? Samantha found her comical. Before Daniel could answer, she already beat him to it.
Pulling down the scarf, she revealed her face. She crossed her arms and smiled haughtily. "No, I'm his girlfriend. Why? Are you planning to steal him from me?"
Leah Tan was flustered especially when she saw Samantha's face. She had heard rumors about this masked woman but never thought that she would see a beautiful face underneath the cover. She was caught off guard by Samantha's provocation. "N-No, I was just curious. I didn't mean to… I… I… wouldn't dare."
"Good, because you can't. Even if you want to, you won't succeed." Samantha smiled brightly that it was so scary.
Samantha turned to Daniel and raised her hand to touch Daniel's chest in a coquettish way, "Darling, I'm thirsty," she said as she eyed him seductively.
"Mmm. I'll get you something to drink." Daniel answered gently.
"Thank you." She sauntered towards Daniel's office and entered like she owned the place.
Liam Cho who witnessed everything gaped in shock. He couldn't formulate words to express himself. That was the goddess in gold, right?
Daniel chuckled to himself as he watched her enter his office. She had her ways to surprise him too, apparently. He loved how she called herself 'girlfriend' and how she openly flirted in front of other people. He felt so elated.
"President–" Leah tried to explain. "I-I didn't"
"Director Tan, I hope you understand the proverb – curiosity killed the cat. Know your place." Daniel said in a cold tone and walked away.
Leah Tan was so ashamed that she wished she could shrink and disappear.
