More than half an hour had already passed since Oliver went to see Samantha outside the restroom. The party went on and everybody started to mingle with their old classmates.

In the far left corner of the room were three men enjoying their drinks.

"Dude, you have been staring at her since the start. Can you be any more obvious?" Chase asked, downing the drink in his hand and getting another glass from the passing waiter.

Ever since the event started, Oliver has not taken his eyes off of Samantha. He had been watching her every move and smiled whenever he sees her smiling. Chase thought that it was like high school all over again, his friend seemed like he is love struck.

"Huh?" Oliver faced his friend, and a smile formed on his face. "What? It has been years. It's just surprising to see that she looked so different compared to how she was before." He did not deny it, not even shy to admit that he is attracted to her.

"What do you mean?" Another classmate of theirs named Trent asked.

"Do you guys not remember how she was before?" With a serious expression, Oliver recalled how Samantha was back when they were in high school. "One of the things that I liked about her then was how aloof she was, she was the only one who did not look at me the same way other girls did."

"Tch. What are you? A male lead from a web novel?" Chase commented and Trent laughed at his remark.

Oliver clicked his tongue before shaking his head, annoyed that his friends are making fun of him. "Hey, I'm serious okay? That was what drew me to her and that was when I noticed her eyes."

His reply only warranted another ridicule from his friend, "Why? Were they mesmerizing? Did you drown when you saw her eyes, Mr. Su?" Trent said with a mocking tone, pouting his lips and holding his hands together as if he was praying.

"Knock it off," Oliver elbowed him at the side, "Seriously though, it was the opposite of that." Pausing for a bit as he reminisced the past which was kept safe in his memories. "Her eyes actually looked dull. Like she was… not there. She actually looked unhappy."

"You're being overly dramatic. If you really liked her so much, why did you swore back then?"

He brought a hand up to his neck and rubbed it, "I was young and stupid. And it was embarrassing! How could she say that in front of everyone?" Shaking his head when he remembered once again. After that incident, he became so bitter that he kept on cursing Samantha and it lasted for a few days. "She was the only one I asked out in public and she had the audacity to turn me down flat straight? It was humiliating."

"That was a long time ago," Chase replied.

"Yeah, it was. And look at her now… she's even more beautiful," Oliver commented. Looking at her once dull eyes that were now twinkling and his heart fluttered when he saw her laughing with Hannah. He was seriously interested in her.

"Well, I hope that you are not planning to pursue her anymore," said Chase before sipping his drink.

Oliver continued to watch Samantha from across the room as if he was studying her, "Why the hell not?"

Chase almost chortled at his question. Thinking back to a few weeks before when Samantha announced her marriage which also gave him a surprise. "She is married! Of course, you can't!" he replied. And as soon as he said those, Oliver Su snapped his head towards him. His eyes widened in surprise and denied what he just heard, "What?!"

"You're kidding," he spoke as if he was trying to convince himself that it was not true.

Trent was also shocked by the news just like Oliver. Because both he and Oliver were out of the country for several years, they did not know about Samantha's recent scandals.

"I'm not. She married the CEO of Cho Corporation," Chase responded. "She even got involved in scandals before the news about her marriage broke out."

Oliver had a bewildered look on his face when he heard his friend. Thinking that Samantha married a billionaire, he thought that it might be why she looked so different now. Although he did not know a lot about businesses or current events, he was sure that before he left Country K seven years ago, the CEO of the leading corporation was an old man who seemed to have a family already.

Having scandals, if you get involved with a married man, then that is not impossible. Did Samantha became a mistress and on top of that, to an old man?

He was totally out of it and he was starting to feel disappointed with the news that he just heard.

The mind can be scary if one misunderstands something.

"Oliver, it's so nice to see you," A woman's voice called from behind.

On the other side of the room were Samantha and Hannah, quietly observing the surroundings and enjoying the atmosphere in the party as they drank wine.

"So what's the plan for Christmas?" asked Hannah.

Samantha widened her eyes when she realized it, "Oh my gosh. It's next week! How could I even miss that?" she replied, pressing a hand on her cheek.

"You have been pretty busy lately. You also don't seem like you are eating enough. You have gotten skinnier."

"Ugh don't start. Daniel got mad over me forgetting dinner last night. Because of that, he even placed a reminder on my phone that would tell me to eat-" she tried to search for her phone but it was not in her purse. She brought a hand over her mouth, "Oh Shoot. I think I forgot my phone in the room upstairs."

"At least, you already ate. You don't need a reminder anymore." Hannah chuckled. "Do you want to borrow mine?"

At the same time, Logan had been receiving messages from Daniel since he was told about what happened outside the restroom almost an hour ago. Attached with Logan's report was Oliver Su's profile and upon reading the files, Daniel's brows were knitted, a headache threatening to creep in.

He had also learned that Oliver was the son of a business partner for a project in which he had collaborated with almost a year ago. (see Mr. Su in Chapter one and Chapter three)

Daniel had tried calling Samantha's number but she was not picking up. So he called Logan,

"I have been calling her. Where is she? Why is she not answering?" Daniel said as soon as Logan picked up.

"It seems that she left her phone in the room. I can pass my phone to her if you want to talk to her, Boss."

A sigh was heard from the other end of the line, "Nevermind. I'm on my way but don't tell her."

"Understood," Logan replied before the call got cut off. Logan chuckled at Daniel's reactions. A kiss on the hand made him run all the way to the resort.

When he returned his gaze towards Samantha and Hannah, he saw Lauren Wang and her minions approach them. Taking a deep breath, he was sure to see another scene in front of him.

As if he can talk to Daniel telepathically, he spoke in his head, 'Boss, can you hurry up? Another cat fight is about to start and I don't remember signing up for this.'
