Upon seeing Samantha walk out from Daniel's private elevator, Leah Tan forced a smile but Samantha just nodded at her; she doesn't like her so why would she pretend? Daniel saw Samantha walked over and gentleness came over his face, "You're here...", he said as he smiled.

"Good afternoon, Miss.", said Leah.

"Honey, why did you call me here?", Samantha asked Daniel, ignoring Leah Tan at the side.

"I have something to tell you, you can sit on the sofa for a bit, I'll ask my secretary to bring you some tea."

"President Cho, I'd also like to discuss some things about the upcoming event." Leah Tan tried to get Daniel's attention.

Samantha felt like Leah is trying so hard to take Daniel's time. Can't those things wait? Does it have to be right now?

Samantha who's feeling a bit childish at the moment sauntered towards Daniel before he could reply and said as she moved, "But I don't want to sit on the sofa...", Daniel gazed at her while she was coming over. She stood beside Daniel and she swiveled his chair, allowing a little room for her to move closer and step in between him and the desk. She sat on his lap sideways and hooked her arms around his neck, "I want to sit here.", she said dauntlessly.

Daniel swallowed, thinking, 'You're getting bolder Samantha.'

Upon seeing Samantha openly flirt with his boss, Assistant Ahn was sent into a coughing fit. On the other hand, Director Tan was mad with jealousy, she tried to suppress her face from showing any change in expression but her hands formed into fists.

Daniel didn't take his eyes off of Samantha's, he's reading her like she's a very interesting book that he can't put down. Without turning his head, he called, "Ahn.."

"Yes, President."

"Discuss everything with Director Tan regarding the event and make decisions accordingly."

"But President--" Leah tried to reason.

"Leave us.", Daniel said firmly, still looking at Samantha in the eye.

Samantha glanced at Leah and smiled brightly.

Leah Tan caught the boastful eyes of Samantha and she clenched her jaw.

Assistant Ahn pulled Director Tan away who was very reluctant to leave and ushered her out of the office leaving the couple alone.

Daniel placed his hand on Samantha's side while the other on her thigh and smirked, "Ms. Kim."

"Mr. Cho.", she replied.

Samantha tugged his necktie pulling him closer as she lowered her head to kiss his lips. She inhaled the smooth and musky scent of Daniel while tasting his minty lips when he kissed her back. Samantha kissed the tip of his nose before she pulled away.

"Why am I here again?", Samantha asked.

Daniel chuckled, "Clear your schedule on Friday, we're going to attend a corporate event. Be my date.".

Samantha furrowed her brows, "What corporate event?"

"It's the company's 50th anniversary. It's a huge celebration, we're inviting friends, partners, vendors and other important groups."

"Um... I'm... I'm not sure.. there'll be lots of people. If you'd bring me as your date, it will definitely cause an uproar. I.. I don't know if I'm ready for that." Samantha said hesitantly.

Daniel smiled and he stroke her back, "I knew you'd say that... that's why this event will be a masquerade party."

"Masquerade? Like... people wearing masks and all?"

"Yeah.", he nodded. "And, your family is invited too. You can even bring Hannah if you want. You won't be alone. You can't refuse me now, I want you to be there with me.".

Samantha's heart warmed when she heard this. Did Daniel decide for the party to be a masquerade just for her? Whatever it is, Samantha didn't decline any more. "Okay, I'd love to go with you.", she said as she smiled gently.

---

That night, Samantha called Hannah and told her about the party. She was so excited that she demanded Samantha to go shopping with her tomorrow.

Before their call ended, Samantha took the chance to ask Hannah's condition, "How are you, Han?"

"I'm fine... getting bored here at my parent's home actually.", she replied.

Samantha didn't say anything, she wanted to say Sorry again...

Noticing that Samantha became quiet all of a sudden, she spoke, "S! Are you still hung up on what happened? Tch... Don't blame yourself, okay? It really wasn't your fault. Harry's the bad guy here, not you. You shouldn't feel guilty, okay? It's not good for you."

"Hmmm."

"*Yawn*... I'll see you tomorrow, I'll pick you up for lunch?"

"All right. See you, Hannah."

After they hung up the call, Samantha who was really tired, fell asleep right away on her bed.

Meanwhile at Daniel's Penthouse.

Daniel was scanning through some documents before hitting the sack when Assistant Ahn knocked on the door of Daniel's study room.

"Come in.", he voiced.

Ahn entered his study with a tablet on his hand. "Boss, here's what I've gathered about Harry Davis' arrest."

Daniel took the tablet and scanned the screen. He checked on the police reports' and statements, he also found out about the online article labeling Harry as 'Manwhore of the Year'.. he chuckled upon realizing that this was Samantha's doing. Who else would do something sneaky like this for her best friend? Daniel recalled what happened a few weeks ago when Samantha picked up Hannah from Liam's club; Samantha had said that she'll avenge Hannah. He admitted that she was crafty with the online article. But who knew that Harry was a vengeful person and would retaliate like this?

Most people would hide and reflect on what they've done wrong. But Harry Davis sought revenge for the humiliation that he experienced; thinking that it was Hannah who made the article, he targeted her.

Daniel read through the rest of the pages and let Assistant Ahn go home. Harry Davis was guilty of Kidnapping in the first degree and illegal detention was sure to stay in jail for a long time.

Daniel stood in front of the floor to ceiling window with whiskey in his had as he thought about how guilty Samantha must've felt. After all, Samantha was the one who did the online article and in the end, Hannah was the one who got harmed. Of course, Daniel didn't blame Samantha though he is saddened that he could've protected her only if he knew what was going on. However with the way Samantha is, she doesn't seem to want to rely on him.

Daniel admired this personality of her, being an independent woman. But just how far is this going to go? Are they always going to be like this? His troublemaker girlfriend getting into trouble every time and him finding out after everything has already happened? It looks like Samantha hasn't really completely trusted him. If so, why does she keep everything to herself? Daniel wants to respect Samantha's wishes but until when is he just going to keep mum about anything that concerns Samantha?

With all these thoughts in mind, Daniel could only sigh and let things pass for now. When he got to his bedroom, his phone beeped and he received a text message from his mother.

[Bring Samantha over for dinner tomorrow.]
