Daniel and Samantha both came out of their children's room quietly and closed the door.
"Are you sleepy?" Daniel asked, holding Samantha's hand as they walked towards the living room.
"Not yet, why? What do you have in mind, Mr. Cho?"
"I just want to spend some time with my lovely wife, is that okay?" He leaned in for a sweet kiss and led her towards the balcony.
Samantha let out a sigh as she leaned on the railings and took in the view in front of her. It was dark yet the moon shone over the sea and the mountains. She could hear the waves as they wash ashore and the cool sea breeze that danced in the air.
A small yet genuine smile played on her lips when she felt Daniel's arms encircle around her waist, his lips pressed against the side fo her neck, "Happy anniversary."
Just as he said that, a song played in the background — the very same one that they danced to years ago at their wedding.
"Ah… I feel old." She chuckled. "Ashton asked me a question earlier today." She spun around when Daniel turned her to face him. She hooked her arms around his neck while he placed his around her waist — and they swayed.
"What was it?"
"He wanted to know how you and I met." Samantha stared into his eyes and without realizing it, they became misty.
Gazing back at her, Daniel's thoughts brought him back to that one special time where the two of them met when they were still teenagers, yet they didn't realize it until many years later. Bringing his hands to cup her face, he captured her lips and tenderly… so lovingly, he told her, "I love you, Samantha."
"And I love you." A tear rolled out from her eye and her heart felt warm because of the man in front of her. "Thank you for coming into my life, Daniel. They said it's destiny… But it's more than just that, right? I remember what you told me back then on our wedding day. And I believe that too… Meeting you, the love of my life… is Serendipity."
"I couldn't agree more." Daniel Cho placed another kiss on her lips and as they parted, a knowing smile formed on his face.
Samantha Cho felt his hands slowly grazing down the sides of her body until he scooped her up in his arms. "Ah!" she yelped, surprised by his playfulness.
"The dishes are done, the kids are asleep… And you, Mrs. Cho… are coming upstairs with me." As though Samantha weighed nothing, he carried her up the flight of stairs and entered their room.
Doors were locked and the lights were dimmed.
And Samantha was placed in the middle of the bed as she watched Daniel strip in front of her.
"Honey, what if the kids wake up?"
"I didn't soundproof this room for nothing, my love."
Daniel crawled on the bed and without warning, he tore off Samantha's clothes and tossed it on the floor.
"Hey! Stop tearing my dresses! You owe me another one!"
"Don't worry, I'll buy you a whole store of clothes."
Hovering on top of her, Daniel looked down at her and asked, "Now will you please shut up, honey, so I can make love to you?"
Giggling, Samantha pulled him down to her and kissed him. "I want you to do that thing you do…"
The corner of Daniel's lips curled upward as he spread her thighs apart for him and settled in between them. "With absolute pleasure, my love."
For Daniel and Samantha, it may have been one hell of a bumpy ride to get to where they are now... but it's definitely f*cking worth it.
