Nicholas came back with clothes that he borrowed from his mother. "These are my mom's clothes when she was a teenager. I hope they will fit your small body."
"I'm not small."
"Fine. Fine." Nicholas put his hands on the air and surrendered in argument. "Just put them on and we can go out."
Serina didn't make a fuss and went to the bathroom to change into it. Nicholas has a huge bathroom in his room. There was a bathtub and a shower. There was a floor-to-ceiling cabinet as well where he placed all necessary things that he'd be needing for bath.
'His bathroom is the same size as my bedroom.' She commented while removing his shirt from her body. 'I don't understand why people likes to have huge bathroom when you don't really use them all the time.' She talked to herself with no one to answer her. Brittislava was hellbent on being mute while she's with Nicholas.
After changing her clothes, she went out and gave him his shirt. "Put this in a small paper bag. I'll bring this home."
"You'll bring my shirt home?"
"I'll wash it. What were you thinking?"
"Oh! Nothing. You don't have to wash it yourself. I'll hand it to the helpers."
"O-okay. If you say so." Serina picked a pen from his work desk and pinned her hair in a bun using it. "Let's go."
The two of them went out of the house and passed by the living room. Nicholas looked towards Damon with a warning gaze but Damon only smiled harmlessly.
"Why didn't you tell me you have visitors? You could've stayed with your parents and entertain the guest."
"Why should I?" Nicholas retorted in disdain. "I have no time for their kind."
Serina stopped walking when they arrived at the front garden of the mansion and turned to Nicholas. "I believe in supernatural beings because I've seen one before. How about you? Why do you believe in them?"
"Because I've seen them, too. In the future, I'll tell you everything I know."
"In the future, huh." Serina whispered softly but Nicholas was still able to hear it. He didn't make a comment, though. He was afraid that she'd feel wary against him. Serina looked around and stopped on his face. "So, where do we go from here?"
"I'll give you a tour around the village. Do you mind?"
"Not all."
Thus, to avoid the vampire who was inside his home, Nicholas brought Serina to the village and showed her what they have. He introduced her to some people close to him and they looked at Serina with so much respect. Some even bowed at her and Nicholas didn't do anything to stop them.
She tugged the hem of his shirt and pulled him close. "Hey, you can stop them from bowing to me."
"It's what they want to do. I can't stop them from doing so."
"I feel a little bit awkward."
"Don't mind them." came Nicholas' reply as he pulled her to another direction. They walked for few minutes and soon found a huge church. From the structure, you can see that it was an old church but it still looked stunning and amazing with proper maintenance. The stained-glass designs were beautiful and when the sunrays hit them, it glowed mesmerizingly.
"Wow! This church is very beautiful."
"It is said that the first generation of our clan built this church for the people under their protection."

"That's so kind of them."
"Rina, do you like wolves?"
Rina raised her head in an instant and nodded it vigorously. "They're my favorite animal. I just like to watch them and learn about them. I like their beautiful eyes and their strong sense of loyalty to their mate. I have been reading books about wolves since I was young. As I – sorry for rumbling on and on."
"No, it's fine. I'm glad to see that you've loosen up to me." Nicholas reached out his hand and gently pats her head. "Will you be afraid if a werewolf shows up in front of you?"
"Of course, I will. What if that werewolf wants to harm me? I don't have a way to communicate with them, after all."
"Actually, many people said that werewolves can communicate like humans."
"They do?"
"That's what I've heard." Nicholas replied while looking at the church in front of them. "By the way, it's your birthday soon. Do you have anything you want to have?"
"Why? Will you give it to me?"
"Sure. Why not?"
Serina chuckled upon hearing his confident answer. "You can't give it to me and I don't want it at the moment. Although, I really want to have it."
"So, what is it?"
"A wolf. I want to have my own wolf cub but it would be selfish of me to take them away from their natural habitat so, no need."
"But you can raise a wolf in the wild, though. You don't have to take it away."
"I don't think the Department of Environment and Natural Resources would allow that."
"Who says we'd have to deal with them? Come here. I'll show you something." Nicholas held Serina's hand and pulled her to the direction of the forest. Serina let him led the way without questioning. For some reason, even though she could tell there's danger emanating from him, she could also feel that she's safe with him.
"This whole forest is under our protection. The government gave us the permit to do so since we basically owned the land here."
"Really? That's awesome."
"There's something more awesome here." Nicholas walked before her, pushing away the branches and thick foliage that's hindering their way.
As they continued to walk, Serina could hear the sound of the birds and she found lots of rabbit jumping around, hiding in their burrows. "This is wonderful." She mumbled while looking around the place. She wasn't even watching her step so, Nicholas had to guide her along the way or she'd trip and fall on the ground.
Serina was happily watching the scampering animals when she heard a loud guttural sound. Her steps faltered and she tripped on sticking tree root from the shock. Nicholas was very quick to act and rescue her, wrapping his arm around her waist to make sure she won't fall. "Be careful."
"No. Wait. Was I hearing things or do you have wolves here?"
"Here's the answer to your question." Nicholas led her to a cliff and Serina thought that it would be very high and dangerous but when they arrived at the place, she found out that the cliff was just seven feet high. But it wasn't what surprised her. What really shocked her were the number of wolves lying on the grass. Some little cubs were playing with their parents and some of them were just walking around, as if patrolling the area from any danger.
"Oh my god! Oh my god!" Serina whispered again and again while watching the pack in awe. "How did you guys have so many wolves here?"
"They're part of us ever since we owned this huge piece of land and we're trying our best to protect them. Now…uhm…do you want to see them up close?"
