Morning came, as it always does. Contrary to her thoughts last night, the sun did rise from the correct side. Suki jumped down from her perch and went about her morning routine. She would be back to do her alarm cat duties later.

Seulgi stirred, slowly waking up. The final dregs of her dreams about someone singing to her were washed out of her sleeping mind. She actually woke before her alarm cat went off. So she snuck in a quick surprise cuddle, much to Suki’s mortification.

Chuckling at being mischievous at her cat’s expense, she started her morning off in an enjoyable way. Getting out of bed, she went to the bathroom to get her routine started.

Bathroom, breakfast, she watched the morning news while eating breakfast. After that, she went back to the bedroom, dressed, and was out the door on the way to work. This time, things were going suspiciously smoothly. She had a cat fur free lunch. She remembered everything that she needed to take with her the first time.

This was going to be an awesome day.

She made it down the stairs with no problem. She greeted the guard pleasantly. She got out the front door without running into anything more solid than air. She put on her headphones for the walk to work and it started out with one of her favorite songs. She managed to get a snack on the way to the office from a street vendor without getting food poisoning.

Today was starting off ominously well. She knew something would happen, as it always does.

But, today, it didn’t. Her day just went surprisingly well.

She entered the building without tripping on anything. Her badge worked to open the elevator the first time. She either waved or greeted about a dozen people on the way to the break room to put her lunch in the fridge.

Hot tea acquired, she made her way to her desk.

She set her briefcase down, got the notes out that she had updated last night, and booted her laptop.

Nayeon came by and greeted her.

Jackson came by and rudely pulled her away from her desk and checked her ankle. He grunted an affirmative, nodded, and then pushed her back into position at the desk without saying a single word. Seulgi was surprised, but by no means shocked by this. He had not had his second cup of coffee yet.

The Terrible Twins came by and greeted her as well, just in harmony. They left giggling.

A few others came by with either greetings or questions.

She nodded and waved at all of the greetings and answered the questions.

While this was going on, she had typed up some daily assignments for her group. Then she printed everything out on her local printer that still had ink. She was as ready for her daily morning meeting as possible, so she started on her email next.

Humming along, she went through her inbox, deleting all of the nonsense that was either jokes forwarded to her or spam that got through the corporate filters. She managed to clear out about half of her inbox that way. She started working on the rest in earnest.

Nine o’clock arrived and so did her minions. Seulgi arched an eyebrow at Yeojin as she showed up with the rest. To be honest, this was not entirely unexpected. Yeojin just smiled shyly at her while Jackson scrounged up another chair. Seulgi thought that if she kept collecting members, she would need to start booking a conference room for her morning meetings!

They started the meeting after Yeojin got seated.

Seulgi started with the current status of what projects were working, pending, or being considered. There were several of each. She gave kudos to those who deserved it and guidance where it was needed. If someone needed a reprimand or a knock on the head, she’d do that privately. She was not the type of person who would humiliate someone in public if she could avoid it.

Jackson took over and informed the team of where he was in his projects. There were some minor issues that would be resolved as soon as possible. Nothing else new to report.

Nayeon actually having trouble getting information from an antagonistic vendor. However, this was nothing new as this vendor had been a problem for years. So, while unfortunate, it was also expected. The problem was that the vendor did excellent work, so they had to appease them in order to maintain their own excellent standards. And the vendor knew this, so exploited that. But not too bad because one of the more obnoxious ones earned the Wrath of Seulgi once. She made enough of an issue that that person got fired and blackballed from the industry.

Seulgi was very tolerant until one of her people got abused. The Wrath of Seulgi was no joke.

Min-Jeon added the information that she was requested to gather to the meeting. Some of it was written down in a report to be handed in, and some of it was perfectly fine being delivered verbally. Someone in Ordering was being obstinate in giving out the requested information. Someone else on one of the factory floors was being obnoxious about not taking ‘No’ as an answer about if she wanted to go get dinner. No names were given, but the look in Seulgi’s eye was enough to know that words were going to be passed down today.

Yeojin was quiet as she had nothing to contribute to the meeting – yet. She was amazed that the meeting was lighthearted with some banter while remaining absolutely professional. The business was being done without being boring. Seulgi was like a maestro conducting a fine tuned orchestra. She kept control and the information flowing without being overbearing. This was a learning experience for the young lady as to how a meeting could be run. How they should be run.

The meeting broke up with little to no fanfare. The printouts were handed to their recipients, except for Yeojin. Seulgi did not want her to feel left out, so she held the girl back, typed up a quick list of things she needed, printed it out, and handed it to her with a smile. Yeojin smiled back, happy to be included.

It would appear to be a good day for everyone.

Except for the jerks in Ordering and one person on the factory floor. They were about to have a very bad day if Seulgi had anything to say about it.
