Rachel paused, looking visibly nervous. “Cyrus, I am—” she replied, stopping fidgeting with her fingers. “I am Aurelia, The Arbiter of Light,” she said, putting her palms up, “but at the same time, I’m Rachel. It’s difficult to explain. My memories of past lives are foreign to me, as if they are not mine… we have chosen to become one. She promised my personality would remain.”
“So she an adviser?”
Rachel paused. “More like a library—you think I’m crazy.”
“Nah, I believe you.”
She was a little taken back by my quick acceptance. “That’s it? You just believe me.”
“If the Demon Lord resurrected, what's to say the old gods can’t? So it would make sense that The Divinity would resurrect.”
Rachel’s face was full of relief and she smiled at me, “You are all that I have, Cyrus, but you are all I need,” she said, striding over, wrapping her arms around me and hugging tightly. But those words made me… uneasy.
I put my hand on the back of her head. “What’s the plan?”
She spun away from me, sitting down on the couch in one fluid motion. “We don’t tell Edwin, yet. He wouldn’t know what to do with the information.”
I tittered. “That is very true. He would just stress over it.”
Rachel’s face fell serious. “You understand what this means?”
“I most likely have the God Of Darkness in me.”
“Not most likely, you have him in you,” Rachel said, crossing her legs. “Your dreams have confirmed that, and it is the reason I feel drawn to you.”
I sighed, sitting next to Rachel on the couch. “I am not sure I wanted to be this… important.”
“I am going to say something that might make you uncomfortable.” Rachel Nervously, swallowed before scooting away from me, which I found odd.
“Do tell.”
Rachel let out a sigh, removing her hair ties and letting the pigtails come undone. “You’re right; I am too old for these. It’s just me grasping for something that makes me appear more like Rachel.”
“That was clearly not what you were going to say,” I said as she stood up.
Rachel paused. “I changed my mind. That is a talk for the future. Bringing it up now would not be beneficial,” she replied, leaving the room irritated as she closed the door of her room.
She was just going to leave after saying that. If something drove me insane, it was someone who didn’t finish what they would say. She wanted me to tell Edwin about my dreams, but not that she was Aurelia. A game of chess was going on, and I didn’t know where I stood or if I was part of the gambit.
“No more secrets, huh?” I yelled at her door.

After getting over my irritation, I made my way to the academy's roof. Arriving at the rooftop, I sauntered over, sliding my fingers into the metal chain-link fence. This had become commonplace for me to go when I didn’t want to be around people. I couldn’t keep this up. I hardly had time between Gracen and Beatrice teaching me anima control, and Jolene instructing me on hand-to-hand combat along with the occasional magica use. To add to all this, Edwin’s specialist had arrived, which I needed to add to my already swamped schedule. I was jealous of Rachel’s ability not to sleep. I could use a solid extra six-hour.
“Looks like fucking garbage, doesn’t it?” a massive man said next to me. He towered over me, which had to put him over seven feet. “There’s a reason copper is underground,” he finished, glancing down at me. He had a very long beard, and grey hair that was a little past his shoulders.

“I don’t mind it. The simplicity of the past was nice, but we cannot let it be our prison.” While the buildings now had no personality, I didn’t mind the forest of gravity defying structures. I had no problem letting a little character slip from them for a comfy existence.
The man paused for a moment, staring into the distance. “This world is a prison.”
“How can I help the number one rank Hero?”
“That is not the right question. It’s a matter of how I can help you,” he said, looking down with his dark blue eyes.
“I am not sure what, Immortal, could do for me,” I responded, turning to him and looking up at this giant man. The fact they had jeans and a t-shirt that could fit him was shocking. Besides his height, his muscle mass was insane; his arms were larger than my head.
Immortal grinned. “How about teaching you to be a Hero?”
“I suppose I could use that,” I replied, staring back out at the horizon.
Edwin walked up next to my other side. “I knew this was a rooftop type of day for you.”
“I like this boy,” Immortal said, putting his hand on my head. “He could use some enthusiasm, but I’m one to talk.”
I stepped away from under his hand, which made Edwin chuckle. “Don’t get too touchy with him. He is allergic to human kindness unless it’s my secretary.”
“She was my friend before your secretary.”
Edwin tilted his head. “Did she sleep with you before or after you spent a fortune on her with my money?”
“You’re really butt hurt over this.”
“What? I am not upset.”
“Mhm.”
Edwin huffed, “I have much work that needs to be done.”
“Work you would have been doing yourself if she wasn’t around. Instead, she was gone for an hour, and you’re crying about it.”
“I am not—” Edwin paused, noticing Immortal had a grin on his face. “She is good at her work, and I know you’re going to fuck May, and I am going to have to fire Chloe.”
“May was not on my mind this morning, trust me.”
Immortal laughed. “You two done?”
“Yes,” I answered, flipping Edwin off and he looked at me offended before I left.
“You have this week off completely. Make use of it as it will be the last for a while,” Edwin said, annoyed.
I gave him a thumbs up, continuing towards the elevator. “Send your secretary my way after she gets off work.”
