The sun was setting behind the towering city skyline as a young girl named Emily stood on the rooftop of her apartment building, gripping a pair of scissors tightly in her hand. She gazed down at the bustling streets below, the neon lights and honking cars a blur of colour and sound.

"I too can cut like you," Emily whispered to herself, her voice barely audible over the din of the city. She had watched her older brother, Jack Ripper, perform incredible feats of agility and speed with his own pair of scissors, slicing through everything from paper to metal with ease. Emily had always been in awe of her brother's abilities, and now she was determined to learn how to cut like him.

"Hey, what are you doing up here all by yourself?" a voice called out from behind her. Emily turned to see her brother approaching, a look of concern on his face. "You know you're not supposed to be up here without supervision."

"I just wanted to see if I could do it," Emily replied, holding up her scissors. "Can you teach me how to cut like you?"

Jack's face softened and he shook his head. "It's not something that can be taught, Em. It's a gift, and I'm not sure you have it."

"Please, Jack," Emily begged, her eyes pleading. "I want to be able to do what you can do. I want to be just like you."

Jack hesitated for a moment, before finally nodding. "Alright, Em. I'll show you what I can. But you have to promise to be careful and listen to everything I say."

"I promise," Emily said eagerly, her eyes shining with excitement.

With a nod, Jack began to demonstrate his cutting techniques, moving his scissors with precision and speed. Emily watched in amazement, determined to master the skill just like her brother.

While she was keeping a close eye on her brother cutting through objects with ease, she felt a surge of determination coursing through her veins. She focused all of her attention on his movements, trying to mimic his every action. But no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't seem to get the hang of it.

"It's not working, Jack," Emily said, frustration etched into her voice. "I can't do it."

"Don't give up, Em," Jack said, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "It takes time and practice to master this skill. You just have to keep trying."

"But I want to be able to do it now!" Emily protested, her disappointment clear.

"I know, but you have to be patient," Jack said, his voice gentle. "You have to believe in yourself and keep trying. I have faith in you, Em. I know you can do it."

With renewed determination, Emily continued to practice, her scissors flying through the air with increasing speed and accuracy. She could feel herself improving, but she knew she still had a long way to go.

"I won't give up, Jack," Emily said, determination in her voice. "I'll keep practicing until I can cut like you."

"That's the spirit, Em," Jack said with a smile. "I'll be here to support you every step of the way."

As the night wore on, Emily continued to hone her skills, determined to prove to herself and her brother that she too could cut like him. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to succeed.

As the days turned into weeks, Emily continued to practice her cutting skills, her determination never wavering. She spent every spare moment on the rooftop, perfecting her technique and pushing herself to improve.

"You're getting better, Em," Jack said one day, watching his sister slice through a piece of cardboard with ease. "You've really come a long way."

"Thank you, Jack," Emily said, a look of pride on her face. "I'm not there yet, but I'm getting closer."

"I have no doubt you'll get there," Jack said, smiling. "You have the drive and the determination to succeed. You just have to keep believing in yourself."

Encouraged by her brother's words, Emily continued to practice, her scissors moving with increasing speed and precision. She could feel herself getting better, and she knew that it was only a matter of time before she could cut like her brother.
