Chapter 139: Chapter 138: Main Character Energy

After brushing up their clothes, Mel and the little kid walked towards me. Mel looked really tuckered out, like she had to fight five lions, four giant ravens, three wyverns, two chimaeras, and a floating butler suit. Either that or she had to survive an onslaught of flying weapons. It's probably the flying weapons, considering how many things are stuck to the little kid. Swords, spears, daggers, arrows, axes, daggers, halberds, sickles, daggers, a whole caboodle.

Anyways, Mel immediately grabs my shoulder, looking a bit pissed. Can I admit something? I like looking at Mel's angry face. Aww… she's blushing now. As for the little kid, I've noticed that everyone seems to be wary of him. Actually, I noticed when they were walking towards me. Everyone else in this lobby kept their distance from him. Interesting… I did notice he was stronger, but to think he was feared.

"You idiot, why did you run off?"

"Umm… doors? Yes, doors. Like a stickman endlessly running, I had to open the doors."

"Haa…" Mel sighed, shaking her head. "Whatever. Knowing you, you probably got the Sacred Power holders."

"I got the guy with the harem and the girl who cools water. I still haven't gotten the first person on my list, though."

"If I'd hazard a guess," Mel looked at the little kid. "It's the shota. It's always the fucking shota."

"Umm… me? For what?"

I looked at the list again. "Are you Haruto Suzuki?"

"H-Hai."

"Oh god, he just said hai. Madeleine, I'mma wait outside while you talk to him, kay?" Mel gave me a quick peck on the cheek, then walked to the exit. "Try not to blow up the place."

"Aye aye, captain!" And out she went.

"So you needed me?" The little kid stood in front of me.

"Yeah. Can I look into your eyes?"

"No!" He waved his hands in front of his face whilst looking away. "I know some girls who'd kill you if they caught me staring at you."

"Hahaha… they couldn't kill me."

"They're terrifying when they're angry, though!"

"Don't worry, don't worry!" I put my head on his hair and twist his head towards me. "If anything, you're more likely to beat me in a fight."

"Huh? Really?"

"Probably." I use my free hand to force open the eyelids of his right eye, looking at it. I've always wanted to see if it works with one eye.

"Huh. Overpowered. That explains why I think you could beat me. Can I get some examples of how you're overpowered?"

"Umm… I'm pretty strong, can take a beating, can summon a sword that cuts through anything, have infinite mana. I… have a lot more, too, actually."

"And to think you're such a wimp."

"I'm sorry."

At that moment, a huge bang was heard from the front door, and a body flew threw the ground.

"Shizuka, it's not what it looks… like?" The little kid panicked, quickly turning to the door and yelling out, only to see the figure that caused a body to go through the door was unfamiliar to him. Instead, it was a demon, one that seemed ancient and dangerous. The worst kind of demons. That unique aura…a Demon Lord, a true one. Not like the one Merry summoned for the Demon Empress.

The demon slowly walked through the crowd, towards the person they threw through the door. The crowd quickly scurried away from the demon. I looked at the man who was thrown into the ground, half his body buried into the wooden floor of the building. He is… quite large. He's a very big man… why is there a kid in between the two? Wait… I know that kid.

"S-Stop!" It's the kid whose eyes I just looked into. Considering what his Sacred Power is, that demon is probably dead. "This is a neutral zone! You can't fight here!"

The demon paused, then pointed a finger at him. "Whelp." His finger turned upwards, and Haruto was sent flying through the roof and into the air. Well… shit. The demon grabbed the giant man's leg, dragging him closer to him. He raised his fist, then slammed it into the man's chest. Oof… that's lethal. "Today marks the day the Divine fall, starting with the death of the dual God Gamin Rivi."

The demon turned to the door, which is when I realised something. Outside, a giant dragon snake thing is fighting a giant being made of fire. How did I not notice that? Also… the snake thing kind of looks like a giant version of that weird pet that's always following Merry… is she here?

The demon had reached the door when he was suddenly kicked back into the building by… a shadow clone? I don't remember summoning one… and that one looks kind of weird. You see, the shadow clones used to look like me but entirely black like a shadow, but recently they've managed to turn the parts that aren't supposed to be black into actual colour so that they look like actual clones of me. The only part they don't make faithful is their hair, which they make pitch black. This one, however, seems to have a few of her strands be a very blinding white. Why does it feel like she had more of an adventure than me?

Description: The "Main Character" of Mendass. Haruto is… generic, typical, normal. He's just a boring dude. Like, even by Isekai protagonist standards he's boring, since he doesn't even have the "Unrelenting Good Guy" qualities they have due to him being somewhat corrupted by Mendass. The only thing he has of note is that he scares the Reincarnator's Organization, but that's less his fault and more so the fault of his three pursuers.
