“Alright, get ready to fucking run.” Ian said as he took a deep breath.

“THIS WAY!” He belted out those words as they carried across the entire battlefield. He wasn’t sure if they had heard him, but then they started quickly moving in their direction.

“Right, if the orcs follow them, as soon as the classes get here, we move. Follow me closely and don’t fall behind, no matter what.” The others all nodded, the smothering atmosphere clutched at their hearts as they watched the different classes as they were being chased relentlessly. With no sign of the Orcs stopping, they got ready to sprint.

The Orcs' high strength made for muscular legs. Each step they took propelled them forwards at high speed.

Once again, ice shot out as the explosion left many spikes as it slowed down the crazy Orc onslaught. Just as the classes entered the forest, Ian and the others began their mad sprint towards their makeshift base. Everyone followed closely as they barreled their way through the dense forest.

“Everyone stop, use the trees to our advantage. We can counterattack them here!” Alphonse heard a slightly impersonal voice shout out and strangely, the entire class forces listened. They all stopped and got into a fighting stance as they readied their weapons.

Ian was mortified at the idea. They had created their base for a reason. “No, we created a base in a defendable valley! It would be easy to defend there!”

“Class E, we will take it from here.” A tall young man made his way to the front of the group as he addressed Ian. Frost covered his fingertips, sweat formed on his forehead. He must have used quite a lot of energy already.

The roars of the Orcs quickly inched closer. Alphonse and the others clenched their weapons for any kind of comfort they could find.

Even despite Alphonse’s massive increase in stats, it was still not even in the realm of possibility to take on an orc. They were walking walls of stat points.

The tallest strongest of the classes were at the front, all holding enormous swords and shields. Behind them stood spear users and behind them were all the recruits capable of ranged attacks. The faces of orcs exploded into view as they hurtled towards them like cannonballs being released from their barrels.

The sparse amount of light from the sun that squeezed its way through the thick canopy above made the orcs' massive fangs glisten from the drool. Their spit catapulted from their mouths as they roared. They couldn’t wait to rip the little humans to shreds.

The attack began. Anyone that was holding a ranged weapon fired everything they had. Hundreds of arrows loosed, but the thick, closely packed trees made it hard for them to hit their targets. After that magical spells were flung forwards, fire lit up the forest as it was spewed towards the hulking green men. Isobelle tried her hardest as small fist sized flames left her underpowered staff.

Watching the attacks, Alphonse knew one thing. They were completely fucked. He looked over at Ian and the others as his eyes shone with worry.

It only took a moment for the Orcs to smash into the front line, their bodies pulverising the shields as they stomped the tanks half to death. Their huge axes cleaved from side to side, smashing and crushing through their thick plate armour.

One Orc managed to instantly break all the way through, but thankfully, the strongest of the classes barely halted the others. The orc’s axe was swung straight at Alphonse. The sheer force of it whistled through the air.

“ALPHONSE!” Ellena, Dillan and Isobelle's desperate screams entered his ears.

Alphonse flung himself to the ground. What felt like only a second, another swing crashed downwards. It was about to hit him until a human ram pushed the axe slightly off course, and just missed him.

Dillan’s axe replicated the swing of the orc. No technique, just power. The blade of the axe penetrated the skin of the orc's chest, but the strong, iron-like bones resisted the hit completely.

Alphonse got up and used the opportunity Dillan made to. With all his strength, the back swung his mace directly at the orc's skull. The sound of solid metal hitting bone rang out as blood poured out from the eye of the orc.

The orc was about to retaliate when it suddenly got catapulted forwards, another orc had smashed into the back of it. All the orcs had broken through and began slaughtering the frail backline.

It was absolute chaos. All the trees made it hard to see what the hell was going on most of the time.

“Fuck this, get back to the valley!” Ian screamed as loud as he could to be heard over the other blood-curdling cries of help.

Alphonse and the others listened. He held no sympathy for the others and abandoned them without care. They had almost gotten him and his friends killed, after all.

They ran as fast as their legs could carry them; they kept on running until their legs could run no more. By using their skills, they were absolutely exhausted. Especially Isobelle, she had used her fireball too many times and was near passing out.

Just as they thought they were in the clear, they heard rustling from behind them. Alphonse felt his heart drop and quickly brandished his mace. A hand appeared on the tree nearby. Frost covered his finger tips. His body came into vision as he was covered in blood. His once handsome face was completely worn out. Behind him, the sound of Orcs shook them to their core.

Isobelle smiled as she looked at her friends. “You need to go on without me.”

“To hell with that!” Dillan attempted to pick her up, but his legs almost gave way. He could hardly carry his axe nevermind another person.

Alphonse looked at his friends. Their conditions were awful, and they were barely standing up.

Alphonse walked to the front, his face turned serious as a crazed look appeared in his eyes. “I guess this is it then.” he said with a wicked smile on his face.

The class A recruit snuck to the side as an orc snarled as it sprinted forwards, hurtling its large body towards Alphonse.

[ Spectral Rage Activated ]

Alphonse felt a sudden uncontrollable wrath take over him. He almost doubled in size as he instantly lost his rationale. His thoughts disappeared. He wanted to kill. He wanted a massacre. As it left a hole in the ground, he shot forwards. 23.6 stat points of strength blasted ahead.

He was going to rip them apart.

The Orc felt a weird feeling it had only felt once before. It was like he was suddenly confronted with a primal being that he was supposed to be afraid of. It was like his own chieftain was staring down at him.

However, it only lasted a second. It roared in rage as it slashed its axe horizontally. The blade was about to hit Alphonse when he abruptly jumped. He jumped right over the axe’s blade and his mace came crashing down, all of his strength and his full weight descended all at once.

The sheer power caused the Orc’s skull to shatter as it fell to the ground. However, Alphonse didn’t stop. He couldn’t stop. His mind was telling him to pulverise its body into a bloody pulp.

‘KILL KILL KILL’

Those were the only thoughts coursing through his mind as he just mindlessly continued to smash his mace downwards. Blood splashed like a fountain as it stained the forest in a scarlet red.

The others looked horrified as they witnessed the scene. Alphonse in their eyes right now was nothing, but a blood crazed demon.

“Alph…”

Alphonse swung his mace backwards, and his rage finally ended.

Isobelle's body was still standing, her head was no longer there. Her brain matter splattered the rest of his friends and dowsed them in blood. Time seemed to stop as his eyes froze on her body.

“Wh… What have… I done…”

Alphonse reached forwards, his fingers touched what was left of her spine as it protruded from her body.

He collapsed to his knees and, for the first time in what seemed forever with his broken mind, tears fell ceaselessly as her dead corpse fell to the ground.
