Chapter 10: Chapter 9 – Two idiots.

The next day, Lukas finished getting ready to go to the Guild interview he found on the Hunter Association website.

"The Butterflies... Should I have looked harder? Whatever, it's easier to get into a small guild."

Lukas went to the living room and then let Anna know he was leaving. Of course, she asked him where he was going.

"I'm going for a little walk," Lukas replied. But of course, his sister did not accept his answer.

'Why is he wearing his best clothes only for walking?' Lukas had his hair combed, was wearing his newest pants and shirt available and wearing his most expensive sneaker. Besides, he was pretty perfumed.

But Anna didn't question him. She went back to watching TV while eating her snack.

"Okay, I need to get there before 14:30. It's good to get there as early as possible." Lukas put the address into the GPS and then walked towards The Butterflies Guild building.

He didn't need to take the subway since the building was in the neighbourhood next to his own. Lukas imagined that most guilds were in the city's centre, but since this was a recently founded guild, it made sense that it was in such a place.

Lukas walked the street while attracting attention because of his appearance. He had a very mature appearance. The younger girls that passed by tried to get his attention.

But Lukas ignored them.

Then at 14:20, he arrived in front of the guild building—actually, the guild house.

"Isn't that just an ordinary house?" Lukas looked confused at the house in front of him. It was a place that looked like his house.

He was only sure that it was the place where the guild stayed because of a handwritten sign just above the front door.

"I think it was a bad idea." Looking at that rather precarious and unreliable place, Lukas turned to leave. But when he took only a few steps down the sidewalk, someone opened the door.

"WAIT!" It was the same voice Lukas had heard on his cell phone yesterday.

He turned around and looked at the woman standing right behind him. She was an average looking woman. She was a little shorter than Lukas and had blond hair tied up in a ponytail.

In addition, she wore glasses with a pink frame, which was quite eye-catching. The woman was wearing a basic white shirt and jeans that looked quite old. In addition, she was barefoot.

"Can I help you?" Lukas smiled a little awkwardly.

"Are you Lukas?" The woman asked as she blinked her brown eyes several times and took a few steps forward.

"Yes, that's me. You are?"

"It's me, Noelle. We spoke on the cell phone."

"Oh... Yes."

"So, you're here for the interview, are you? Would you like to come in? I can prepare some coffee for you before the interview."

"Oh, sure. But what about you?"

"What about me?" Noelle tilted her head in confusion.

"Why are you dressed like that? And why did you run out of the house and come after me?"

"It's nothing. Just ignore it." Noelle smiled a little awkwardly and scratched her head. Then she wiped some mucus that had started to come out of her nose. Lukas didn't know how to react.

That woman, she was a complete idiot.

'Should I leave? I think this guild will be closed before long. There is no way that a guild with a person like her is a guild with any future...' He didn't like to judge people, but it was impossible.

"Come on, get in." Noelle approached Lukas and took his hand with the same hand she had used to wipe the mucus on her nose.

Lukas felt his soul leave his body. Then, Noelle dragged him into the house.

He was inside a living room modified to look like a reception room. Like his house, the first floor was supposed to be divided into several rooms, but here it was different.

They broke down all the walls, and only one large room remained.

On the right was the reception desk. And all around the room were chairs and more chairs, but they were all empty! Nobody was waiting for an interview except Lukas. This guild was a failure.

Lukas was sitting in an uncomfortable chair as he watched Noelle prepare coffee in a machine at the reception desk.

'Why a coffee machine in this place?' Lukas was silent until Noelle finished the coffee. Then she brought it to him on a tray she had taken from somewhere.

"Here."

"Thank you." Lukas took the coffee and then tasted it. The bitter taste plagued his mouth. The coffee was without sugar, and Lukas was not used to drinking coffee like this.

But he still drank the coffee without making a face.

He had to act like an adult.

As he sipped coffee, Noelle looked at him with a silly grin on his face.

"Is something wrong?" Lukas asked.

"No, it's just that you are very handsome."

"Thank you?"

"..."

A few minutes passed after this awkward conversation, and someone came down the stairs. It was another woman, but she was completely different from Noelle. She looked like a decent person.

Shoulder length red hair, black eyes, and a sharp look. She was wearing a red dress with a large neckline. In addition, she was not barefoot like Noelle. She was wearing black high heels that looked expensive.

'That woman does not suit this place.' Lukas thought.

"Miss Karen, he's here!" Noelle said in an excited tone.

"I see." The woman named Karen approached and looked at Lukas. Then he stood up and extended his hand.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Lukas." Karen looked at him for a while before holding his hand. "My name is Karen, and I am the master of this guild. Do you really want to do the interview?" She looked Lukas up and down.

"Why do you ask?"

"You're too young."

"Aren't you as young as me?" Lukas smiled at Karen, making her face turn red immediately. "What are you saying? You don't have to lust after me like that."

"Hi?"

"Okay, I'll allow you to do the interview. Noelle, get my interview outfit. I need to get ready."

"What?"

"You must not fall in love with me, boy. I am a dangerous woman."

"What????!!!!" Lukas couldn't understand everything that was going on. These two are idiots with twisted personalities.

'How did Hunter Association agree to promote a guild like that?' Lukas thought.
