The whole mine shook, accompanied by a roar that gave one goosebump.

William's face suddenly became grimmer.

‘what?….’ He suddenly thought of "crap."

Once more, his suspicions turned out to be accurate.

Things were merely beginning.

Slowly emerging from the shadow was the enormous majin brandishing a miraculous machine gun and wearing a bullet-proof vest.

“Huh?! Huh???”

Up until that point, the miners were embracing and crying tears of joy, but as they discovered this change of events, they all froze up like statues.

What? The hell, what? It still hasn't ended?

This is impossible!

None of them were able to express what they wanted to. Their faces quickly turned gloomy from despair.

Ah.....Ah, ah

A huge majin soon emerged from the shadows fully.

After briefly turning its head, the "monster" moved toward the miners and started shooting its magical machine gun.

Bang 

Bang

Clamp!!

Sparks were produced each time the bullet was fired at the rocky wall.

Clamp!!

The soldier was so tall that its head nearly touched the ceiling of the mine.

Clamp!!

Even as the miners were crushed by the soldiers' immense size, the bullet was fired, drawing closer to them while everyone prayed to the orbs and created magic shields to deflect it.

"Mister. Kent! Mister. Kent, call William!

“What can we do??”

Kent was quickly surrounded by the miners who had just a moment ago been cursing at him.

"Is there any escape from this?"

Just say something!

All of these grownups had sob-like expressions on their faces as if they would start crying and wailing any moment.

William was their only chance right now.

Wiliam starts to wonder if he missed something in the report, but eventually, he remembered.

[ Notice: due to error in the experimentation, some majins are more psycho than others.]

The mine was filled with the sound of gunfire.

Bang. 

Bang.

“K, kkkyyyyahk!!”

While she was preoccupied asking Mister Kent a question, the male miner shouted at the top of his lungs as the enormous suddenly emerged at her front.

A gory mess of the former male miner could be spotted on the ground as the blood splattered on the soldier when the giant majin shot a ton of bullets at his body from close range.

Screaming in fear and dismay also broke out among other miners.

“Ahhhhh?!”

"Uwahk, uwahk!"

The enormous soldier's face, which had been expressionless before, was suddenly wracked with ecstasy.

"Run, run away!!”

Miners quickly moved away from the huge miners.

The large soldier being in front of the male miner was unfortunate for him.

Kyaaaachk, K!

'Damn it…..'

William was attempting to flee when Kent intervened and stopped him.

But, Mr. Kent...?

The time has passed.

The huge soldier, his aura surrounding him, slammed the magical machine gun at the male miner as if to dismember a body with bullets.

“Keuk…”

Wiliam unintentionally turned his head aside. He was unable to stand by and see the genuinely horrifying scene.

"Time is of the essence at this point."

Kent's remarks instantly brought William back to reality.

What he said came true.

THUD!!

“Uwaahk!!”

“Help me!!”

THUD!! BANG!!

The enormous majin had stopped moving about.

No, instead, it was ferociously shooting at any surrounding miner it could find. The entire tunnel trembled violently every time the large soldier walked on the ground

William grits his teeth and started running once more.

"Let's break off!"

“Yes"

Two routes lead to the deposits of plentiful minerals.

Wiliam and Kent raced in different directions, thinking it was unsafe to move around together.

Wiliam took care to make his move toward the left passage's farthest corner. but another miner was heading there who arrived before, they hit themselves without William knowing,

"Huh"

It was Mister Jared.

Jared was sprinting as hard as he could.

When he thought of his family, tears started to gather on the rims of his eyes.

“Sob…”

He had a son who looked so much like him and a wife who was expecting their third child back at home. He couldn't die, Nor in this place, not in this manner.

Maybe if everyone present, he was able to sprint the farthest away from the enormous soldier because he raced with everything he had.

“Pant, pant….”

Ben, Jared's friend, yelled angrily at him as he struggled in the corner to calm his labored breathing.

"Jared, sir!"

When Mister Jared heard the recognizable voice, he turned his head.

“Yeah?”

Ben yelled out while pointing at the area behind Jared.

Your back! Take a look behind you!

Then, behind Mr. Jared, something—no, someone—gleamed icily.

Uh…?”

Slice!

The head of Jared was severed. His neatly severed head halves dropped to the ground.

“Jared!!”

The soldier that fatally cut Jared with its dagger disappeared into the shadows without a trace.

Ben watched this scene and started crying.

“You sons of bitches….!!”

THUD!!

Bang!!

To avoid being slashed and shot off by the enormous majin behind him, you had to run toward the other route.

You are, uwaaah!

"My arm!! My arm, oh my!

Wiliam was dripping cold sweat from his forehead.

The weight on his legs increased. His breathing was becoming increasingly labored. He had only one train of thought running through his mind, though.

'Run, Run,'

William let up a roar that was audible throughout the entire mine corridor.

Run far and fast! Don't go backward.

A glimmer of optimism appeared in the miner's eyes.

Everyone moved incredibly fast, which was quite different from when he had previously instructed them to hand up the gold bag. If Wiliam was wrong about this, they would be slain as soon as they started running without turning around. But no one here questioned what William had said.

Kent was the first to attempt to escape down the passage, but his efforts were in vain as the magical machine gun's straight bullet penetrated his head while ignoring his magical shield, leaving his body lifeless.

Everyone witnessed the lifeless body of their leader falling to the ground.

Ben turned back to his knees and burst into tears.

"Sob… Sob.

The massive soldier turned around in the meantime. The "monster" looked around and eventually discovered its next victim.

"God damn it."

Wiliam spat out a cuss as his gaze met the huge majin.

When he started running, his heart felt like it might break. Sweat had already seeped through to his back.

"Why?! What for?"

William turned his bitter gaze to the enormous majin behind him.

Thud!! Bang, Bang, Bang

The massive soldier approached at breakneck speed. The dreadful cold-blooded killer was almost on the opposite side of the corridor from him, but the distance between them vanished in an instant.

Wiliam sucked his saliva back down.

(Could it be that, like mister Jared, the soldier just arrives out of nowhere? Mr. Ben and I?)

There was nothing else in his mind. Why?, Because more soldiers could appear out of nowhere at any moment

"There is no time left to think,"

William prepared to run somewhere else and outran mister Ben in speed.

"Mister Wiliam, please."

Despite his blue orb barrier at his back, mister ben couldn't flee quickly as ten bullets from the magical machine gun punctured his back.

"Uwak"

William and Mister Ben stared at each other as blood gushed from his mouth, "I can't die like this; it's not meant to be me today."

His Lifeless body hit the ground

Thud- 

William shallows his saliva in a low voice, his eyes expanding, but he keeps sprinting since the passage was too great.

They still despise William for being weak, even though he has repeatedly saved them.

William's eyes started to well up with tears. His whole body was shaking.

While the remaining five miners yelled for their life in the distance.

"Kwek"

"No, you stole our gold and are now killing us. I can't go out like this."

Were you dispatched by the association?

We are just ordinary people in this world, so why did this happen to us?

They all tried to fight back, but they were all pierced by magic bullets. Their Lifeless body parts tumble. 

Their screams and cries faded in the distance as William ran.

Only William had not been shielded by the orbs. It was clear that the large soldier's fury was focused just on William and him.

Wiliam made every effort to dodge the machine gun's straight, fast-moving bullets.

Thump!

Thump!!

Despite falling and rolling around, he managed to avoid being struck by the straight bullets.

Heek, heek

Even though he was only a grade G soldier, he was nonetheless trained for close combat, therefore his physical attributes were helpful in this situation.

Just one more step, please! A little more!

Wiliam sprinted even faster while keeping an eye on the movements of the large soldier.

He picked up the pace.

And when only a dozen feet separated him from the massive soldier, at that point…

He was being attacked by intense vertigo, and for some reason, he couldn't even maintain his balance.

‘Please….’

He imagined that if a true deity existed, he would begin to pray right about this moment, as his arm had just been severely damaged.

He was too exhausted to move.

Pants, pants

William continued to groggily breathe in and out while he regarded the huge majin coming toward him.

The soldier's face appeared to be even more enraged than it had been before due to Willam's persistent dodging.

But when he saw a masked soldier carrying a gun and an orb tied around his neck at the end of the hallway, Willam lost all hope and began to crave them.

The large soldier stopped in front of William at this point. William thought he was going to have trouble breathing when he saw a "monster" that was the size of a tall door obstructing his entire view.

“Pant, pant…..”

Did it believe he was nothing more than a rat trapped in a corner? The enormous majin said nothing else, only peered down upon him.

The enormous majin glared at him with extreme malice, asking, "What is an ex-soldier doing in an Archdemon resting mine?"

William, who was already close to death, exclaimed "Huh, demon…resti… mine, what are you talking about" as he struggled to understand what the enormous majin had just spoken.

"And how can a majin talk? In the report, it was written that you guys had no tongue, you guys are just puppets for the empire." 

"Hahaha, that was an incomplete report, a special majin like me speaks, thinks, and commands the thoughtless ones' 'a huge majin laughed." Come to think of it, you thought back to the report that why you handed us your gold …hahaha, fools'' huge majin talked to William smiling.

"Then, did the association send majin to kill us for the gold?" William asked, his fingers trembling as he pulled out his revolver.

"Kill you guys, no, you guys don't matter, why do we need gold?"

"Then why did you slaughter us like bugs, we all have families," William, quivering, asked.

Other soldiers appeared as some recognized him.

(Are these the world's most inept soldiers?)

"He is, as I am well aware." some who could at the very least mutter

(What can a wuss do with a revolver?)

One certain majin, who knew him, closed his eyes, thinking to himself, "What a bastard, we told him to volunteer himself for the experiment, but he refused, even the empire sent him a request, he ran away, what a scumbag, look at him dying like an insect, yes, us with power should rule over weaklings."

The huge majin looked at him and said, "since you are already on the verge of death, and as a former military comrade, I will tell you one thing, it's for the empire's(Alovina) world dominance, we are simply here for the archdemon."

"What?, archdemon, what are you talking about" As William turned his gaze and his blurry eyes sore blurry images of soldiers taking the dead bodies of the miners 

" You are so naive, my ex comrade"

William grinned in pain while aiming his gun at the enormous majin.

"Oh, you still got guts for someone going to die. Sure, try and shoot, but I wouldn't dodge. You're in the military, so you should have read up on us; we're not like normal adapters(soldier),"

Wiliam uses the last of his mana to fire the bullet, but nothing happens because the bullets that pierced the massive Majin's forehead just fell to the ground as regeneration started to close the wound.

Wiliam exclaimed in disbelief, "What?

The enormous majin aimed his magical machine pistol toward William, saying, "I told you, we are different; don't worry, I'll give you a quick and easy death."

…Is this the end…

When Wiliam stared directly into the menacing eyes of the enormous majin, he realized that his inevitable doom was becoming closer.

His body begins to be penetrated by bullets. He has already passed the point of no return, so all he needs to do is struggle for a bit.

Bang-

“Keok!”

All across his body, there were creaking sounds of bones cracking.

He backed away from the excruciating pain.

Euh..... Euh, euh.

He started shaking, and more majors were slowly around him. They surrounded him in an encirclement. William shook himself violently as he raised his head and stared at them.

‘I… I don't want to die in this way.

Tears gathered in his eyes as he realized he was in his final moments.

He remembered his family's faces. He even remembered the worried expression on his sister's face, Mister Kent's face.

..I don't want to die….my little…

He didn't want to end his difficult twenty-four years in this location.

If I had one more chance, that's all.

Only he was unaware that fate alone had preplanned the entire event.

William's eyes narrowed as he prayed for a miracle, but nothing happened.

His lifeless body bowed and fell as numerous gunshots pierced it.

Huge Majin exclaimed, "What wretched soul, " as he headed for the archdemon with the other bodies and warriors.

When Jason, a poor slime, finally arrived, they had already left.

What the hell just happened?

I heard numerous gunshots. Is this the start of World War One? ( I got here faster than I could though)

[Magic physical perception area scanning]

[Error has occurred] 

[A prayer to fate must be made to use this skill.]

"Why, prayers, ah, fine" he had no choice.

"Fate, who art in Eden, scan thee, my request; my existence is in your hands."

"I can't get over this irritation."

Jason has infrared vision, thus he can see the heated blood of the deceased on the ground.

"What a disaster," he says as he starts to retreat because no one was still alive.

Then, it occurred, and Wiliam's life force erupted as his belly was smashed into the ground.

[Scan Complete]

[lifeform detected]

"Huh" Jason, who was departing, noticed William who was still breathing a little bit even though his gut was out

"Oh, For a human, you have a strong vitality"

Those were the exact words that came out. "I will track down those scumbags and kill them all, my little sister "Olivia," I can't die like this.

Jason, a meek slime, ought to have said something cool, but instead, he chuckled.

"Ah, weakling revenge scheme, hahaha."
