These events are Abigail's side of the story for the events on the previous chapter, specifically, some fill ins for what Al said as well as for what they talked about after Heather left. I also changed a bit of the dialog from the previous chapter because surprise surprise, writing at 12 am might result in mistakes.
Alright, here goes.
We walked into my room and I took out my sword from my desk.
“Alright, Heather, this is Al. Al, this is Heather. I finally told her about you.”
“Huh!?”
?
“Um….Hello?”
“Ah…. uh….. Um…..”
What’s up with him?
“Al?”
“Did I do something wrong?”
“No, give me a second.”
I stared at him as he stammered.
“Hah…. why are you stuttering?”
“I’m not good with new people okay!?”
“You’ve seen her before, haven’t you?”
“Yeah but talking to people is hard!”
“What, so I don't count as a person now?”
“That’s a different story!”
“How….”
How so? I wanted to ask, but we have a guest. I can just ask him later.
“...alright, I won’t question it. Let’s just say he said hi too.”
“He’s…. quite the something, huh?”
Oh don’t even get me started.
“Feels like I’m dealing with a four year old.”
“Haha… um… thank you for your efforts during the war?”
“Ah… uh….. I-it was nothing…. I didn’t really do much… and… uh….”
Wow is he really that bad at talking to people, or is it just her?
“He says he didn’t do much, so there’s not much to thank for.”
“Thanks.”
“I see….”
She paused there, with her head tilted, as she stared at us.
“It’s… kind of hard to believe, isn’t it?”
“Well, it’s either you’re telling the truth or you have an imaginary friend you think is the sword.”
“That’s….”
What if that’s true?
What if I have gone crazy this whole time?
Al also sat there, silent.
I mean… what can he tell me to deny what she just said?
“...not something I can deny.”
“Luckily for you, there’s an easy way to test that out. Given how I was able to talk to him earlier, he can definitely hear me. So we just have to have you leave the room and I tell the sword a password or something, and he’ll repeat it to you.”
“Good idea.”
Wow, she’s thought that far ahead?
I walked out the door and leaned against it.
“Just this?”
“Maybe further back, the walls aren’t really that thick.”
“Got it.”
I went about two room away to the right and leaned on the wall.
What if Al really wasn’t real?
What if I had made him up this whole time?
He moved a bit, but only a bit.
I could have just been seeing th-
“H P M Z. ABIGAIL HELP I’M SCARED I CAN’T REMEMBER. H P M Z. H P M Z. H P M Z. H P M Z…”
Nevermind he’s definitely real.
If I was coming up with an imaginary friend I definitely would have made her smarter.
I hurried back just as Heather waved me in.
“H P M Z”
“I assume you didn’t hear through the door?”
“No, Al was panicking cause he can’t memorize four letters. So he shouted at me as you were talking to him.”
“Hey! Memorizing’s hard dammit!”
“Hehe alright then. That confirms it.”
She smiled.
“Thanks… shup up Al.”
“What did he say?”

“He’s whining that I told you.”
“Pffft. Don’t worry, it’s not like I can tell someone else about it.”
“Still hurts his pride, at least, what little of it he has.”
“Ah. Sorry.”
“See? Abigail, this is what we call being nice. Why can’t you be like her?”
“Don’t worry about it, he’ll get over it.”
“Sure…”
“Don’t ignore me!”
“Nevermind, he already has.”
"That quick?"
“I have not!”
"He's just like that."
“Helloooo, can anyone hear me?”
“I think you already know the answer to that question, Al.”
“But you can!”
“Haha sorry, that’s a bit mean of me.”
“What did he say?”
“Don’t worry about it.”
“Okay…”
“Anyways, that’s that. Got any questions?”
“Why did you put him in the snow?”
“Ah, at one point we did some testing and found out he could move a bit so we thought maybe he could do magic.”
“Huh…”
“It didn’t work though. Do you have any tips?”
“Not really. I learned how to do snow by myself but it’s pretty much just imagine the shape and go with it.”
“Guess that would be too easy.”
“Anyways, I don’t have much to ask so I’ll be going.”
“Bye!”
“Goodbye.”
“See ya.”
She closed the door behind her.
“Soooooooo why weren’t you stuttering at all when we first met?”
“What, you ignore me all this time and now you want me to answer? How about I invoke my right to stay silent!”
“Swords don’t get rights.”
“Then I’ll become king and make a world where they will!”
“Sure…. But that doesn’t answer the question.”
He finally sighed.
“Well look, I was pretty desperate to have someone hear me back then that I didn’t really think about my words. Any girl in a nine kilometer radius would have ran off the moment they heard the words ‘Big daddy meat lord’ but somehow you’re still here, so that means I can spew whatever shit I want in front of you, while that person isn’t as tolerant to the ramblings of the local moron, got it?”
Whao, that pushed something inside him.
“Thought you weren’t going to swear.”
“Dang it!”
“Well, your welcome for being tolerant, I guess.”
“Thank you. God picked the only girl that could handle me to be my partner, huh.”
“You’re an atheist.”
“Whoever put me in this body, then.”
“I suppose so. Thanks to you, I’m never alone.”
“Now for you to stop ignoring me when I have a point.”
“But it’s more fun to see you frustrated.”
“Oh f- I mean shove off with that.”
“Good catch there.”
“Hah! I do have self control!”
“Then again, why didn’t they put you with a guy?”
“Who knows.”
“Eh, it’s probably just a coincidence anyways.”
“Does it even matter?”
“Nope.”
“Exactly.”
We met each other one day, and we’re with each other ever since.
Nothing more, nothing less.
But still, thank you for sticking with me, partner.
Author’s notes that don’t matter:
Something I always wanted was just a boy meets girl story where they’re just friends, nothing more, nothing less. Whenever an older man meets a younger girl it always feels like it has to go the father-daughter bond route or the age gap route, and I say burn that bridge down. The only father you’re getting is your big daddy meat lord and good god that’s a cringey line. Which is why I used it often back when I played project winter lol. Oh yeah, if you haven’t noticed, Al is actually a bit of a self insert, but not in the power fantasy type sense. I wanted to put myself into the story but with my flaws accentuated more than my strengths. Mainly because I don’t really have strength and flaws are what makes character, not strengths. There’s also how the story is more believable because I know that the character in the story is me and that’s how I’d react to certain things. Now to hope I did that right.
And once again, thank everyone so very much for making it this far.
