It was probably the best sleep, forgetting that others might be looking for them. Cloud woke up the following day, got out of bed, and went to get refreshed; when he came out after a long, relaxing bath, Tifa and Aerith had already disappeared from the bed, and the bed had been thoroughly cleaned.
He dressed, wearing the spares they usually left at home in case of emergency and walked down the stairs to the dining table, where he smelt the food.
"Sir, good morning, sir. Your food is ready, and the Madams are getting ready."
"Oh," Cloud looked at the newspaper on the dinner table. They had subscriptions for subscription's sake but never read them. Though today, there was something that made him turn to the newspaper. He opened it, looking at the black and white picture of a tall, handsome, and familiar young man, "Genesis?"
He turned his eyes towards the headlines, "US Presidents' Wife nearly died?"
Cloud turned his eyes towards the article, engrossed, reading it till the end when Aerith entered the room. She stepped near him, planting a kiss on his cheek, pulling his face to her, kissing his lips. She noticed that he was lost in thought to the point that he hadn't noticed her.
"What wrong? Can't face me?"
Cloud put the folded paper in front of her face, showing her the picture of Genesis, "Yesterday, there was a bank robbery, and for some reason, President's wife was secretly there, without any protection when the group of robbers hit the bank, and one of the citizens, a bodyguard with the Private Security Company, happened to be there, and saved her, along with every other hostage."
He threw the paper on the table, "Avalanche Inc., the one which houses the Bodyguard that even the President thanked."
"He works fast," Tifa appeared at the room door, taking the newspaper, "Are you sure you have control over him?"
Cloud closed his eyes, and he felt tracing a path, and memories came pouring into his head of how Genesis hired the robbers. They stole her money, leaving only the cards that forced her to go to the nearest bank, saving her and later erasing the memories of the transaction but not of the robbery.
He opened his eyes, realizing he was sitting in an office, and then pulled back, shaking his head and finding himself back in front of Aerith and Tifa, "Yeah…yeah. Still have the control…that hasn't slipped, but…that's who he is…and probably why others thought it was best to choose Genesis."
"You didn't ask Eri or me, so who are these others?" Tifa raised her eyebrows.
"Tifa," Cloud pulled the chair and sat down, picking up the toast, "There are two I can't let go. Angeal would be good at managing but not expanding. Miss Crescent would make a fine scientist, but I need her to guide me through this. So I guess the ones I can't let go of are three. Roche is rogue, and Weiss won't come out without Nero. This leaves me with few choices…and in them…Genesis might've been the only one."
Tifa took a deep breath, looked towards the newspaper, and pressed her lips, nodding, "Ok. If you say so."
Cloud placed his palm on hers, "The moment I think…I am in over my head. I'll tell you. Ok?"
"Better," Aerith didn't wait for Tifa to answer and said. She pulled his head towards him, planting a slow, sensual kiss she had wanted to do for a while.
She let go of his head, licking her lips, "Now that's a good morning."
"Heh," Cloud let out a short laugh, looking away, and Aerith grinned.
"Now you are making me want to kiss you more, doesn't it, Tifa?"
"About that…strangely. I don't feel jealous," Tifa bit her lip, darting her eyes between Aerith and Cloud, "I am jealous of other girls, but I am never jealous of you."
"Must be this—harem thing. I never got an explanation, and the System is tranquil. I don't understand why," Aerith curled her lips, "You know what I think?"
She raised her eyebrows, "I think this Universe is a big place, and something is happening out there that is causing the System to desperately hide its existence. I can't figure out what. Time wouldn't solve a problem against an entity that even from afar could sense the existence of something like System."
Cloud picked up the toast, bringing it to his lips when his eyes widened. He narrowed them, putting the toast down, closing them, "It's not Time that the System needs. It's a buffer."
Aerith and Tifa looked at each other, blankly exchanging a look when Cloud stood up, "When we were brought here, and when the System was most active. When Mar-Vell was an experiment with that thing used to power the Light-Speed Engine."
He stood up, "At that time, System used to designate Fast Travel Locations, and when we were so close to the source, it even revealed its presence."
He walked over to the window, looking out at the beautiful, calming view, "Even after a year, it was only active for a moment, but since then, we had no mission. We thought it was because there were none to give, but what if we couldn't live without that thing hiding its presence."

"Huh," Aerith narrowed her eyes, "I must say, that thing was strong. It was like a Space Materia in nature, but its energy was seemingly infinite. Having such energy new here, that would make sense if it could be used to hide the presence."
Tifa looked at them; there were times when she felt she didn't understand these things like these two did, "So, clarify this for me. The energy source for the Engine was acting as the Energy source for the System?"
"No, if so. Then as Aerith said, the stone possessed Infinite Energy. The system would have absorbed it all and kept it to run itself," Cloud pointed at the table. A green light left his finger, transfiguring the plate. It turned into a bowl, and the food turned into pebbles. At the center of it was a blue light that shined visibly.
"Can you find that light?"
Tifa blankly nodded, "Yeah?"
Cloud used another spell, and a red fog appeared, covering the bowl, "Now. Find it."
"Oh, the buffer," Tifa narrowed her eyes, "So that stone. If we need System, then we must get that stone?"
"Probably. Though something lesser would do too, it must be pure and wild and infinitely release that energy."
Tifa's mouth twitched, "Let's get back that stone."
"Hey, you two. I am happy that Cloud figured it out, but…do we need the System?"
"That's our way back home, remember?" Tifa breathed out, "We need it so we can complete whatever wish it has and leaves here. I'd miss this place…but…that's our home…right?"
"Right," Aerith pressed her lips, silently eating her food, and Cloud sat back down, calling Dobby for another plate of food. The mood was nothing like it was before until Aerith spoke.
"Have you noticed? The last time you had sex, you nearly went on a rampage and disappeared. This time, you solved the puzzle that has been troubling us for so long. Maybe sex is good for you."
"Shut up," Cloud looked away; his embarrassment was easily visible to them, "It's not that. It's what you said about time…you were right. If something like that exists, then time won't solve the problem. We had the solution in our hand…."
"I don't understand. Why did System make us let go of that cube if it was the solution?" Tifa curled her lips.
"We weren't strong enough to keep it," Cloud sighed, "It was basically above our paygrade. Now is a different story, though."
"But there is Voldemort active there right now, and we don't know what he might do, and then there is the Triwizard Tournament."
"Let's wait then," Cloud kissed Aerith's head, "Let's wait for the Triwizard tournament to be over, and then…we can go after that stone…cube…whatever that is."
Aerith stroked his jaw, planting a kiss on his lips, "Thank you."
"You know I haven't gotten a single kiss since morning? I don't get jealous, but that doesn't mean you ignore me," Tifa narrowed her eyes.
"I can't reach you," Cloud gestured towards the chair on his left, and Tifa ignored it.
"I still have self-respect."
Aerith giggled, kissing Cloud, looking towards Tifa, who stood up in frustration, "School! We hav
e school! You jerks!"
She could hear them laughing behind her as she turned to leave, and a smile appeared on her lips when she turned towards the stairs, rolling her eyes, "Jerks."
