Chapter 34 - For the first time in his life, he was distracted in the middle of his meditation. (2)
When she was done talking, Gu Nian lifted up her chin and happily waited for “compliments”.
“My precious son is so kind, right?”
Jiang Xiaoqing was very happy after she learned of the incident. “I can even imagine the look on Zhuo Yixuan when it all came down. Ahahahaha. She brought it onto herself!”
Qin Yuanyuan looked up. “We get why you back Luo Xiu, Gu Nian. But haven’t Luo Xiu only met you once? Why did he trust you so?”
Jiang Xiaoqing turned around as well. “Oh, yeah. Why was it? Could it be that…?”
The way Jiang Xiaoqing dragged out her words caught Gu Nian’s attention. She asked curiosly, “Could it be what?”
Jiang Xiaoqing came up to Gu Nian. Giggling, she nudged Gu Nian’s shoulder with her own. “Love at first sight?”
Gu Nian, “?”
The girl’s expression turned icy cold in one second or less. “Don’t say such nonsense.”
“Then why do you think it is?”
“It must be….”
“What?”
“A mother and son team is invincible.”
Jiang Xiaoqing, “……”
Jiang Xiaoqing couldn’t help but turned her head and said softly to Qin Yuanyuan, “If this Luo Xiu really is interested in our Gu Nian, I’ll feel sorry for him.”
Qin Yuanyuan, “Why?”
Jiang Xiaoqing, “Just think about it. The girl he wanted to pursue think of him as her son. Can you think of a bigger tragedy than that?”
Qin Yuanyuan finally busted out laughing. “I guess you are right.”
When these two were whispering to each other, Gu Nian had already zoned out while lying on her bed.
She was surprised that the incident was resolved without having to resort to her trump card. It wasn’t resolved perfectly but she wouldn’t need to reveal that identify of hers and not be dragged back into that nightmare…
That was great.
And then there was the one who had dragged her out of her nightmare.
Gu Nian flipped through the pictures in her cellphone gently and finally stopped at a side profile that was somewhat blurry.
With her chin resting on her palm, she smiled tenderly.
“My precious son.” She touched the man in the picture gently and smiled. “… is indeed an angel.”
August 31, 2018. Friday. Weather: Medium rain to heavy rain.
Today is the full-month anniversary from the day I have met my precious son!
The rain stopped in the evening and I saw a little girl helping out her mother in manning the booth while working on her homework. The bottom of her trousers was wet and, in a moment of weakness, I bought this notebook from her. I only noticed that the color of the soft cover was dark brown just like the eyes of my precious son!
It is so pretty!
This must be fate. As such, I have decided to use this notebook to write only what has to do with my precious son. I named it as well. It shall be called Mengzhi’s Son Raising Diary from now on!
This name came about because of you and will also continue to exist because of you…
Anyway, Mom will work hard on raising her angel-like son into a white and chubby boy. I also hope that he will grow up nice and strong, take off in his career, and became a very famed actor.
Whatever dangers you have to face, Mom will always stand in front of you!
P.S. I have heard that those in the entertainment circle believe in luck – starting today, I will do one good deed a week for my baby and will visit Daoci Temple every month. Must remember.

Luo Xiu closed up the notebook in his hand and lowered his eyes.
A full month. Had he not misunderstood the odd expression, that meant the first time he met the owner of the notebook was on July 31, 2018.
What happened that day?
Knock knock knock.
Someone was knocking on his door.
Luo Xiu looked up.
“Brother Luo – Eh? How come you are reading this?” The first thing the little assistant saw after walking into the room was the soft cover notebook in Luo Xiu’s hands.
Luo Xiu’s rested his hand languidly on the brown-covered notebook and said nonchalantly, “I was bored.”
The little assistant wasn’t surprised by that. He smiled at him. “Your books should be arriving in perfect condition by next week at the very latest. You will have other reading materials then.”
Luo Xiu nodded.
The little assistant put down the stuff in his hand on top of the table. “Speaking of the notebook, I noticed the other day that it says inside the cover that it was Mengzhi’s Son Raising, ahem…” The little assistant turned his head and tried to cover up his slip. “Do you think this is the Mengzhi?”
Luo Xiu looked up and asked, “Which one?”
The little assistant was taken aback a little. “Don’t tell me that you don’t know.”
“Know what?”
“Mengzhi. The song writer and singer of Enlighten Me. That song made the top list of all music sites two years ago!”
